A guide to Space Travel Idle that is probably more accurately described as my personal notes for the game, but figure other people could benefit from as well.

Resources
Whatever you're doing, you almost always need to have energy in the green. If you're running out you're probably doing too much and need to infest in research/infras first.

More to come.
Research
Where the magic happens.

This is the first thing you want to start working on at every new location. This is where you unlock new features and abilities.

More to come.
Infrastructure
Making the numbers bigger.

This is where you make and spend most of your resources. At first you will not be able to afford to be researching and using all infras at once, but you'll get there. Prioritize according to what resources you need to keep your research going.

More to come.
Cards
Okay maybe this is actually where the magic happens.

There are two types of cards.
1) Active battle abilities
2) Passive production boosts

Battle cards are all on the first page and you can have five equipped at a time (but only three usable on each turn, see Battle for more). Production cards are on the second page. They increase various aspects of your resource production. Cards can be leveled up by combining 4 of a card with the same Name and Rank. (So 4 lvl1 attack cards become 1 lvl2 attack card).

Both types of card are earned through battle as loot drops when you are victorious. Resource cards have a dramatic effect on your production and battle cards have a dramatic effect on your ability to win battles, so they are both very important to understand, collect, and use.

The other in game tabs show your collections and allow you to see how the card changes as you level it up.

Battle
First thing first: Go turn on your auto battle immediately if it isn't already. Make sure Auto Leveling is Off.

Battle is where you earn cards as well as the Biomass resource. Battle itself is a little weird at this point in the game. But basically put, you don't want to battle manually unless it's for a boss or some temporary reason.

Your battle abilities are determined by what cards you have equipped in the Cards section. To use one, double click on it. You and the enemy both use your ability (whoever is faster goes first, and that makes a big difference) and then the turn is over, allowing you to pick another card. The fight continues until one of you dies.

Auto Battle Modes
Right now there are a ton of buttons for auto battle modes but only two functional modes, Normal and Heal. Using heal occasionally helps in the early game, but for the most part you just want to stick with Normal to crank through battles as fast as possible. If you find you're losing a lot, switch your battle level down until you winning 80%+ of the time.
Loot
What drops what? Let's find out!!! This section is the primary reason for developing this guide. Please leave a comment if I'm missing something.

As far as I know, each stage and level has its own loot table, with different chances for different cards. I *think* this applies for bosses too but they definitely have some guaranteed drops as well. Bosses also drop cards that will have colored text in the console. I don't know what that means. Possibly a unique item? If you know what the blue or green text items mean, please leave a comment and I'll update this!

Travel
Moving from planet to planet. So cool!!

I definitely misunderstood Traveling in Space Travel Idle at first. It's not so much a way of "Prestige" in other idle games as unlocking a new challenge. In each location you are establishing a new base with different resources available and new things to research and infrastructure to build. The decision to go to a new base for the first time SHOULD NOT be taken lightly (especially that first jump to Venus) as you may find things are quite a bit harder (slower) than you expected once you get there.

That said, once you've gotten things established in the new base, you'll find new that hard work will pay off for more than just that base, but will elevate your situation as a whole. This section is intended to be some kinda guide of how to know when you're ready to move to the next location, and which location you may want to just hang out in while you work on certain research (as the "Space" research is eventually available everywhere).

Venus unlocks Space Folding (reduces flight times) and a Spaceship Furnace (less resource for energy generation)
TomasVaner 27 Nov, 2020 @ 9:34am
Mercury unlocks third rocket engine (Energy Burst) and is great source of energy (6.5e7 per second). There is no any other resource there

I just sat on Moon Surface 1 for like 3ish hours and got a "Charge Lv1" card
on all of Low Earth Orbit there is a chance for "Normal Attack Lv1" and if I recall LEO 7-10 "Energy Drink Lv1" drop. If you want me to test anything Moon Surface 1 and below I'm here to help.

@Putin okay I KNEW that one of them were dropping it. Thanks! I'll add it here.

Crater Guard 10 also has a slight chance of dropping Infra Restructure 1 (Keeping it open overnight lead to around 25 cards, needing like 5 actions to kill it). This was a life saver for me on Venus.
