Note on Highly Missable Achievements
This section is dedicated to 100% completionists. This is aimed to help people watch out for highly missable achievements in order to get that perfect run (100% in 1 run).

The following list will contain the name of the achievement and a very brief description on what to watch out for...

Out of Your League - This achievement can't be done if you reach level 37 as no monster will go higher than 40.

A Wink and a Smile - There are a limited number of persuasion checks in a given playthrough so if you fail too many you can block yourself from gaining this achievement.

It Didn't Explode - If you somehow get to Alchemy Level 10 before experimenting on anything, you learn all recipes and become unable to further experiment. Create a new character or reload in order to remedy this.

Manic Pixie Dream Elf - One wrong dialogue option out of the several chances to be nice to her will void the achievement and require a restart/reload.

The Harder They Fall - It's very easy to kill a kobold by accident before killing the boss. I personally recommend using Reckoning mode right away combined with any and all damage dealing potions. With crafted gear and enough DPS, you can down the boss before kobolds even show up.

Destiny Dominated - The achievement gets voided if you change the difficulty anytime in between the playthrough. It has to be on Hard difficulty from start to finish for it to count.
Destiny Achievements
Destinies serve as a type of class-system in KoA. There are 3 achievements related to destinies which are tied to the specializations available to you (single, double, triple/jack of all trades).

Listed below are the 3 achievements listed in the in order of how early you can get them..

"Jack of All Trades"
Unlocked a Jack of All Trades destiny.

By level 2 you should be able to spend a total of 6 points (3 per level) into abilities. Jack of all trades requires a minimum of 2 points each spent on Might, Finesse, and Sorcery. The lowest 3-way tier is Seeker.

"Some of This, Some of That"
Unlocked a two-class hybrid destiny.

The earliest that you can get the two-class hybrid destiny is at level 4. As an example, the minimum required for a Duelist (Tier 2) Finesse and Might hybrid is 6 points each spent on both Finesse and Might.

"It is Your Destiny"
Unlocked a top tier destiny.

Last but not least is the top tier destiny. Simply put, this achievement requires you to have the top tier of a single-class specialization (a total of 109 points). You can get this by the time you reach level 36.
"Thanks for playing our game!" achievements
These achievements are awarded for basic gameplay features and don't require any special effort to complete. You'll most likely get these without even trying.

"Niskaru Slayer"
Killed 25 Niskaru.

This will unlock naturally while completing story missions. It cannot be missed.

"Cleaning Up the Streets"
Killed 50 bandits.

You'll kill hundreds of bandits while playing the main story missions alone, so this achievement will most likely pop before you even leave the first main area.

"Blades of Glory"
Acquired 10 Unique weapons (Special Delivery weapons excluded).

There are hundreds of these in the game and you'll get more than enough as quest rewards to get the achievement.

"Foiled Again!"
Parried 100 times.

Even if your timing is as terrible as mine you'll get a successful parry every now and again. Even that will eventually amount to more than a hundred. To be clear: to parry a blow you need to block it at the last possible second. Successful parries are rewarded with a moment of slow-motion.

"Would You Like Fries with that?"
Landed 100 complete attack chains.

This achievement is awarded for mashing the attack button. Good job!

"Good as New"
Repaired a piece of equipment.

Your equipment will eventually start falling apart from prolonged use. Using repair kits to restore durability is often a lot cheaper than paying a smith to do it. You'll get this achievement the first time you do that.

"Big Spender"
Spent 200,000 gold.

Even if you only buy the bare necessities like repair kits and potions you'll end up spending a lot more than what's required to unlock this achievement. Bribes and training fees are included.

"Breaking and Entering"
Picked 50 locks.

The lockpicking mechanics in this game are simple and a good portion of loot chests are locked. You'll probably end up picking hundreds of locks without ever investing a single point in lockpicking. Auto-attempts also count towards the achievement.

"Open Sesame"
Dispelled 50 wards.

Some loot chests are cursed instead of locked. This minigame is substantially harder than lockpicking and requires both quick thinking and good reflexes on harder difficulties if you don't plan on investing a few points in your dispelling skill. The tiniest ammount of controller lag can make this minigame a nightmare to play. If you're having trouble you can get the achievement with auto-attempts alone.

"Bull in a China Shop"
Smashed 1,000 objects.

Go nuts whenever you see a big group of urns or crates and you'll get this one in no time.

"Juggler"
Landed 5 consecutive hits on a launched enemy.

This achievement is easily done early in the game with the combination of a longsword and a bow. Simply perform a delayed second (basic) attack on the longsword in order to launch the enemy. Once the enemy is in the air, shoot all your arrows and you should get the achievement.

Going the Extra Mile
Unlike the achievements in the previous section these require you to do something other than just smash your way through the main story using basic attacks only. Many of these require you to invest points in certain skills or use abilities which need to be unlocked first. Others simply need you to keep your eyes open for certain things.

"A Wink and a Smile"
You have succeeded at 50 Persuasion attempts.

This is perhaps the easiest achievement to miss. Throughout the game you will encounter various 'persuasion checks'. Succeeding in one usually results in a more favorable outcome in your quest.

There are enough chances given by the game to perform these persuasions but once you fail, the chance to persuade usually disappears. It is highly recommended that you save before each check in order to reload in case of a failed attempt.

In order to get some foresight on these persuasion checks, here's a detailed list on all of the chances provided[amalur.wikia.com] throughout the game.

"Reckoning Rampage"
Killed 5 enemies with a single Fateshift.

Enter reckoning mode while fighting 5 or more enemies, unravel them all and use fateshift on the last one to kill them all and get this achievement.

"Trapper"
Killed 25 enemies with traps.

You'll need to learn a trap ability from the finesse tree to get this achievement. The most basic one is Frost Trap and it can be used in combat as an attack ability so you don't need to sneak around if you don't want to.

"Riposte!"
Landed 25 special attacks out of Parry.

This achievement can be unlocked after you learn a riposte ability from either the might or finesse trees. You'll need to invest quite a lot of points since they are both tier 5 abilities. Whenever you score a successful parry be sure to follow up with an attack to launch a riposte. You won't have to complete the full attack sequence, it is enough if the first hit connects.

"Shock and Awe"
Killed 100 enemies with abilities.

Any ability will do that deals direct damage to an enemy. All enemies count towards unlocking this achievement so long as you use an ability to deliver the killing blow.

"And Then There Were None"
Killed 500 enemies with abilities.

Same deal as before. When you see an enemy near death use an ability to finish it off. Mages will have an easier time with this achievement but other classes will also get it eventually.

"They Never Saw it Coming"
Backstabbed 20 enemies.

Keep an eye out for enemies that haven't noticed you yet. Use sneaking to get behind them and attack them with daggers or faeblades to perform a backstab. The enemy has to die from the backstab for it to count. This can easily be done without investing any points in stealth.

"Cartographer"
Discovered 100 locations.

You'll need to do some exploring to get this one. Whenever you see a doorway or cave icon on your minimap go near it. You don't actually have to enter the locations for them to count. About 60% of all locations have to be discovered for this achievement.

"The Great Detective"
Detected 25 hidden things.

You'll need at least 2 points in detect hidden to see hidden stashes and 5 points to detect hidden doors. Both count towards the achievement.

"Bookworm"
Read 50 books.

Remember to read every book you find by using them. Scrolls and letters also count. You don't have to steal the books. You can read them directly from the book shelf without commiting a crime.

"Out of Your League"
Killed an enemy 4 levels higher than you.

The easiest and earliest way to do this is getting arrested (and going to jail) immediately after reaching Gorhart (before you get some levels). Note that the game gives you an autosave right after the tutorial so you can go back to this point at any time.

After going to jail, wait for the guards to leave the vicinity. Once they have left, pick the lock on your jail cell and grab your gear from an equipment box nearby.

Pull the lever nearby in order to release another inmate. This inmate will be 4 levels above you and should be easy enough to kill. Just make sure to do this quickly enough since the guards will come rushing back once you initiate the attack.

Crafting and Collection
"It Didn't Explode!"
Make a stable potion by experimenting.

This achievement is very simple, and can be obtained pretty early in the story.
The easiest potion to make is the Minor Healing Potion, which requires Black Cohosh (2) and Embereyes (1). You can either craft the potion by combining the ingredients mentioned above, or trying to experiment. Go to the Alchemy table and click 'Experiment', then add one Black Cohosh, one Embereryes, and click 'Start Experiment'. The achievement should trigger right after.

"Elixir of Fate"
Make a potion with the Essence of Fate.

The easiest way to get this achievement is to put 10 points into Alchemy.
After that, gather 4 Essence of Fate by either finding it in the wild, or getting it as drops after you've used rampage. After you've gotten it, go to an Alchemy table and click 'Create'. You should be able to put in 4 Essences of Fate, and create the potion.

"Diamond in the Rough"
Craft a Pristine Shard.

For this achievement you need 3 points in Sagecrafting.
After that, simply craft two lambent shards (of the same type) together, and the achievement will unlock.

"Romancing the Gem"
Craft an Epic Gem.

For this achievement you need 8 skill points in Sagecrafting.
To craft an epic gem, you'll need 2 pristine shards (see Diamond in the Rough). Now go to any Sagecraft Altar and chose 'Craft gems' > 'Epic Gems'. Select your pristine shards and craft it.

"Shop Class"
Crafted a piece of equipment with Blacksmithing.

Some quests require you to craft items so it's pretty much impossible to miss this one.

"Master of the Forge"
Craft an item that uses all 5 forge component slots.

For this achievement you need 7 points in Blacksmithing.
Before you start make sure you have the right gem to socket into the item. Go to a forge and you should see a bunch of blueprints that require 5 items. Now simply create the item and the achievement should pop.

"Green Thumb"
Harvest 10 of each type of reagent.

I recommend that you save this achievement for the end of the game, since you'll probably have found a lot of the reagents by then. Reagents looted / bought does not count towards this achievement. You have to harvest each one, which requires atleast one point in the Alchemy skilltree. Essence of Fate is not required for this achievement. Reagents are on a 2 day (game time) respawn, which means they're quick and easy to farm aslong as you have a bed to sleep in.

Here's the list on some of the uncommon reagents needed, and a few suggested locations for them:
  • Seaflax - Rithen (2 very close just as you enter)
  • Scarab Salts - Shardfall (large quantities)
  • Prismere Dust - The Court of Winter*, Cynric Quarry (3), Galette Tunnels (1)
  • White Flake - Shardfall, Dellach

* - The Court of Winter is near the very end of the game. it's not as accessible as Cynric Quarry or Galette Tunnels.

Note that any reagent not added to the list were deemed too common to be listed. We can add them in by request or you can check out the wiki for very specific locations for each reagent.

"Loremaster"
Discovered all Lorestones.

First off, you can get a great majority of the lorestones by simply having 10 points invested in Detect Hidden. This will help you spot all lorestones in areas you have already explored.

It turns out that you can get this achievement 20 lorestones short of completing all the sets in the main game IF you complete the DLC lorestones. It seems that the achievement counts the number of lorestones you have rather than checking to see if you've gotten every set completed.

We've decided to just link to a lorestone guide instead of posting on here since there are many good ones already published. I suggest checking out IGN's excellent lorestone guide.
Crime and Punishment
These achievements are awarded for committing crimes and accepting the consequences. It's a good idea to save your game before attempting these. If you prefer to keep your character's conscience clean you can load it once you unlocked the achievements. This will also allow you to keep your bribe money.

"Where's My Wallet?"
Pickpocketed 20 times.

Whenever you meet a lone NPC sneak up behind him/her and press the interact button to initiate pickpocketing. The percentage next to each item in his/her inventory represents your chances of being caught. Investing points in stealth helps but isn't really necessary. Only successful attempts count towards unlocking the achievement. Exiting the inventory screen after a successful pickpocket and re-entering to steal another item counts as two separate attempts.

"A Life of Crime"
Got caught committing a crime 25 times.

You need to fail 25 stealth-checks while stealing, pickpocketing, assaulting or murdering someone to get this achievement. Bribing the guards allows you to immediately try again. This way you can get 3 achievements at the same time: Go to any area with guards (preferably a town) and start pickpocketing the NPCs walking around. If you succeed you advance your pickpocket counter. If you fail you advance your counter for getting caught and you get the opportunity to bribe the guards which is needed for the next achievement. Repeat this until you get all three achievements.

"Crime Doesn't Pay"
Spent over 10,000 gold in crime bribes.

If you get caught committing a crime in an area with guards you will be arrested. Expect some police brutality however since the guards like to hit you a couple of times before attempting an arrest. After being arrested you have an option to pay a bribe and wipe your crimes. The amount of gold you have to pay depends on the crimes committed and your persuasion skill. Attempting to break someone out of jail is one of the most expensive crimes in the game. Do that if you want to unlock the achievement as quickly as possible.

"Five Finger Discount"
Stole and fenced an item.

Most traders won't buy stolen items but you can always find a fence in Traveler camps.

"Jailbreak"
You broke out of jail.

Instead of bribing the guards you can choose to go to jail. You will lose all stolen items and be placed in a prison cell with only a single lockpick in your inventory. If you manage to pick the cell door you'll get the achievement and the opportunity to retrieve your gear. If you fail you need to serve your sentence by interacting with the bed. This will cause you to lose some experience.
Factions
Factions in this game serve as supplementary storylines you can pursue for rewards that scale with your character. Completing a faction's storyline will often reward unique bonuses such as good gear or twists of fate.

There are currently 6 factions. 5 of which have an achievement and storyline tied to them.

"House of Ballads"
Completed the House of Ballads storyline quests.

"Warsworn"
Completed the Warsworn storyline quests.

"Travelers"
Completed the Travelers storyline quests.

"Scholia Arcana"
Completed the Scholia Arcana storyline quests.

"House of Sorrows"
Completed the House of Sorrows storyline quests.

The wiki[amalur.wikia.com] has an extensive listing of all quests given by each faction.
Hidden Achievements
These hidden achievements are mostly story-related (except for one). The story achievements are enclosed in spoiler tags.

"Streaker"
You spoke to someone while not wearing clothes.

Easy achievement to earn. Just remember that shields are counted as armor.

"Reborn"
You were reborn from the Well of Souls, and have escaped Allestar Tower.

No explanation necessary. This is rewarded for getting out of the very first instance.

"No Destiny, All Determination"
You have met High King Titarion, and have been confronted with the true scope of your powers.

After the first few missions, your new tasks branch out to two parallel quests. One is with Agarth while the other is with Alyn Shir. This is part of Alyn Shir's questline wherein you end up going to Ysa.

"Turning the Tide"
A ruse has baited Octienne into betraying the necromantic nature of his experiments.

After the first few missions, your new tasks branch out to two parallel quests. One is with Agarth while the other is with Alyn Shir. This achievement is tied to Agarth's part of the questline. It involves the templar Octienne.

"Hero of Mel Senshir"
You have defeated the great Balor.

This achievement is for liberating Mel Senshir in the quest "Breaking The Siege" by killing Balor.

"Destiny Defiant"
You have defeated Tirnoch, and defied destiny.

No explanation necessary. This is the final mission in the main storyline.

"Destiny Dominated"
You have won the game on Hard difficulty.

This is unlocked for beating the game completely on hard diffuclty. Switching difficulties in between the game does not count. After getting the twist of fate for defeating Tirnoch wait a few seconds since it does not unlock immedately.
DLC #1: The Legend of Dead Kel
This DLC can be accessed from Rathir. You won't be able to return to the main game area for quite a while after starting so plan accordingly. Some of these achievements are missable so it's recommended to create a new saved game before starting.

"Manic Pixie Dream Elf"
Wooed Rast Brattigan.

Rast is one of the more... colourful characters you will meet in this game. If you want to earn this achievement you'll need to be nice to her at all times. This means choosing the top-right dialogue option whenever possible. Bringing her along for the final quest is optional. Speak to her in Cape Solace after finishing the main questline to get the achievement. Female characters can also get this without any problems.

"Message in a Bottle"
Located all eight message bottles in Gallows End.

You can get them in any order. The last one only becomes accessible after the main questline is complete and you take the sidequest called "The Invaders" in Cape Solace. Here are the locations of each one:

Message bottle #1:
On the beach near your starting position.

Message bottle #2:
Near the entrance of Souldeep Fasting.

Message bottle #3:
Under the platform in Cape Solace. You can reach it by jumping down near the gallows.

Message bottle #4:
In the northern part of Scuttle Beach.

Message bottle #5:
Across the chasm from Aubrey Gilcrest.

Message bottle #6:
Inside Mudhold Fasting, near Angharad Glyndowr.

Message bottle #7:
Inside Undersea Fasting, not far from the book.

Message bottle #8:
Outside Brigand's Hideaway.

"Keep on Rising"
Gravehal Keep has been fully restored.

After reaching Cape Solace you'll have the option to start a series or sidequests requiring you to reclaim and restore Gravehal Keep. Setting these quests as active will mark building materials on your map. The achievement pops after the tower is built.

"Give Her a Hand"
Found Aubrey Gilcrest's severed hand.

This becomes available after finishing the sidequest "Scattered Fragments[amalur.wikia.com]". Once the quest is complete you'll need to hunt down the crab that ate Aubrey's hand. It can be found in the northern part of The Jawbone, hiding behind a big rock in some shallow water. Kill it and loot the hand to get the achievement.

"Exterminator"
Killed 50 Scavs.

You'll probably not get this by the time you finish the DLC so you'll have to stay a while longer to hunt down more Scavs. The best places to do this are Cliffbreak Fasting, Souldeep Fasting and Undersea Fasting. They respawn every two days. Killing them with a single attack may not count so use basic attacks if possible.
DLC #2: Teeth of Naros
This DLC can be started by joining an expedition in the south of Ettinmere. It is recommended that you save your progress to a new save file once you reach the Teeth of Naros so you can fall back to it if you miss any of the achievements.

"The Harder They Fall"
You’ve bested Kahrunk without killing his attendants.

This one is evil. It's hidden and it requires you to go against what the game tells you to do. During your bossfight with the Jottun warlord there are two kobolds channelling a protective shield around the boss. You need to kill the boss while leaving at least one of them alive. If you accidentally kill them both don't panic: new kobolds enter the fight periodically. Just make sure there is at least one of them alive when you deliver the killing blow to the boss and the achievement will pop immediately. Alternatively you can activate reckoning mode as soon as the battle starts and nuke the boss before the kobolds have time to channel the shield.

"Beam Me Up"
Used the Henge to enter Idylla.

You get this one the first time you visit Idylla. It cannot be missed.

"I Regret Nothing"
Fell to your death from the Idylla Concourse.

This can be acquired as soon as you arrive in Idylla. There's a big hole in the centre of town. Stand next to it. Save your game. Press jump. Enjoy your achievement.

"Mistaken Identity"
You’ve found a strange Almain who has been hiding in the sewers of Idylla.

You'll need to be able to open hidden doors to get this one. During the main questline you'll find yourself in the Idylla Undersewers. Instead of leaving after you get what you came for go ahead and explore the level a little. Follow the linear path until you find a hidden door. Go through it and jump down to meet someone your own size for a change.

"We Built this City"
You helped the Kollossae in the Teeth of Naros break free from their fate.

You get this for completing the main questline. It cannot be missed.

"Murder Most Fowl"
Killed 50 Pteryx.

If you didn't get this by the time you completed the main questline head on to the eyrie area to hunt down some more of these funny looking birds. Avoid using powerful spells however since killing them with a single hit may not count.

@Canadian Normandy I am aware of that, that is why they deleted the dlc's for the normal version. So people would buy the remaster. Sad, i really wanted to have the original game on 100%..

@Sinja they released an updated hd remaster called kindoms of amalur re-reckoning that includes all the original dlc.

Hi! Thanks for the guide. I have a question. If I destroy any of the messages in bottles, can I no longer get the achievement?
Sinja 17 apr. 2021 la 13:31
Is there a possibility to still get the DLC's? Steam removed them from the store, but the achievements for it still exist..

Great job! :47_thumb_up: Thanks! :lawman::kodama::lawman:

Trapper also does not have to be done through Frost Traps. If you find the Teeth of Naros quest that has you kill Rats in the Idylla Sewers, kill the Rats there. Each Rat you kill there counts towards Trapper; 25 of them gets the Achievement.
SolariDraco 20 aug. 2020 la 18:45
@ZuTheSkunk No, the Evenroots are not required for Green Thumb, it's only the reagents found in the main game, except for Essence of Fate.

Another way to get the Out of Your League achievement is to run straight to Brunuath in Lorca-Rane. There are two Barghest in the first room, but you can lure just one of them towards you. If you invest your three initial points into Storm Bolt, you kill it in 4 Storm Bolts on Casual. Just fire the attack, run, fire when you're a safe distance away, and repeat. There's also a Shrine of Lyria (surrounded by two Bears; you can Stealth to it) to make Storm Bolt cheaper.

Are the reagents from the Teeth of Naros DLC required for the Green Thumb achievement?

So apparently "I Regret Nothing" is a hidden achievement... Took me a while to figure that one out.

Hi @IAmVanca - You can always go to a fateweaver and remove all your current skills, do the experimenting, then add all the skills back as you want them :gs_joy:
This is also what you`ll want to do if your skill level is too high to allow training, or if you find you want another skill set than your current choices, btw .
