Setup
This achievement is very broken and required me throwing 150 bombs before it triggered, at Brax and then at the Dread collectors that spawned, though I'm not sure how relevant that is.

For this the fastest way to trigger the achievement is to use -debug-flag as a launch option (picture below), which will open the game in debug mode and make this a lot faster.

Skills
To be able to fast craft The Bomb you will need to take the following three skills when you start
  • Wand Lore
  • Rogue Scientist
  • Communist
The other 4 skills are irrelevant
How to
Start the game and press the letter L on your keyboard, which will level you up because we are in debug mode. Assign skill points to max out Wand Lore, Rogue Scientist and Communist. You will have to close the skills tab and press L again to get enough skill points to max all three.

Now go into your inventory and open the n-Dimensional Lathe and scroll to the bottom of the crafting page to The Bomb

While in debug mode clicking on crafting ingredients will add them to your inventory, so click on all 4 of the crafting ingredients and craft as many bombs as you think you will need.

Now save the game and right click on The Bomb to equip it as a weapon and find some enemies to throw the bomb at. If the achievement doesn't trigger, reload the save and find some other enemies to nuke.

Have fun, and remember to throw the bomb at least 6 squares away from you, otherwise you'll be hit by the fallout.

"I tried about 25 times" has the right touch of esoteric humor to it that this game thrives upon lol.

Not in pursuit of this achievement myself but wanted to leave that comment in solidarity. :cozyjunimogreen:

welp, nevermind. I threw it at a monster zoo and the cheev popped. who knows what triggers it? I certainly don't. not like anyone cares about my achievements, lol.

i'm trying to make this pop and it's not working.
i tried tossing it at a empty tile and nothing.
i am playing with permadeth turned off and i'm reloading, throw, reload, throw and nothing.
i tried hitting brax and nothing.
i tried killing brax , then throwing at the dreadlords, nothing.
i tried throwing at an empty tile, nothing.
i tried throwing at a wall, nothing.
i tried throwing at a chest, nothing.

granted, i did not try it 150 times yet. i maybe tried about 25 times so far.

but saying "touch tile not enemies, tada" seems incorrect

the bomb needs to touch tile. not enemies. tada.

Bless you! Trying to bomb on hardest difficulty with permadeath on was such a disappointment. Thank you very much!

Okay dude? I think you might have been on to something.

So I kept going, nuking the crap out of monsters, reloading, trying again, I did this somewhere between 10-20 times before I got to thinking.... the dude said he was nuking the shopkeep.

So I quit reloading and just went about nuking every monster I saw. Dude, level 1 of this run started looking like a blasted wasteland of broken doors and disjointed walls. I even threw one at the lukefish statue out of spite. I had reduced an estimated 75% of the map to this hellish state when I finally found my first shop.

I saluted Lenin's corpse, chunked my 9999th bomb right at Brax's forehead, he died from the radiation and boom, I got the achievement.

I think there IS something about the shopkeep that makes this work!

I believe you can save before you throw the bomb and reload after it is thrown, and repeat that step.

Were you serious about the 150 times? I've done it ten times now with no proc yet... does restarting the game (not just reloading) help?
