The Disgaea series has always had a reputation for having a huge post-game, and infinite ways to play. It's a combination that makes it easy for a person who's even read all the walkthroughs and has a thorough understanding of the basics to still feel lost as to where to even start with their goal to create their ultimate overpowered team. And that's where this guide comes in.

What this guide is not.

This guide is not a walkthrough. Though I will make an effort to explain the why's, it is written with the assumption of some basic level of understanding of the mechanics of Disgaea 4. If this guide is going over your head, then please seek out the numerous walkthroughs or FAQs that already exist.

This guide is also definitely not the only way to play, and it's not even necessarily the best way to play.

Where this guide can help.

If you really feel lost in where to start with Disgaea 4's post-game, hopefully after reading this guide, you'll be able to really wrap your head around what you should be doing. If you choose to follow this guide closely, it's designed to outline step-by-step how to go about this particular strategy, with directions for multi-tasking where possible to make for a more efficient experience.

Even if you ultimately decide not to follow this guide to the letter, there are still numerous tips I've learned while researching for this guide that you may not have been aware of that can help you accomplish your own goals more efficiently.

When you start a new game, you can go about most, or even all, the story part playing just normally. Don't even bother grinding or with item world beyond the minimum you need to do to win your battles. This is because the key leveling map, 9-4, isn't even available until late game. Once 9-4 is available, you can choose whether to start power leveling to make the rest of the story easy, or you can just beat the game and then start power leveling. There's just a list of items you need to keep in mind to work on during your normal gameplay so you will have them available once you're ready to start power leveling.

1. Unlock character classes.

The bare minimum classes you'll need for this guide is the following.

• Masked Heroes.
  
  • Requires a level 25 Thief.
    
  • Requires a level 25 Warrior.
• Onmyo monks.
  
  • Requires a level 30 Sorcerer.
    
    • Requires a level 15 Skull.
      
    • Requires a level 15 Witch.
  • Requires a level 30 Ninja.
    
    • Requires a level 30 Thief.
      
    • Requires a level 30 Skull.
• Bouncers.
  
  • Available after completing chapter 7.
• Nekomata.
  
  • Available after you kill a Nekomata
• Optional but recommended: Professors.
  
  • Requires a level 20 Healer.
    
  • Requires a level 20 Onmyo Monk (see above for the Onmyo Monk's unlock requirements.)
• Optional: Armor Knights
  
  • Requires a level 20 Warrior.

In summary, you'll need the following classes:

• A level 30 Thief.
  
• A level 25 Warrior.
  
• A level 30 Skull.
  
• A level 30 Sorcerer.
  
• A level 15 Witch.
  
• A level 30 Ninja.
  
• Optional but recommended: A level 20 Healer.
  
• Optional but recommended: A level 20 Onmyo Monk.

On the other hand, you may want to go ahead and unlock everything. For everything you'll need:

• A level 30 Thief.
  
• A level 30 Warrior.
  
• A level 50 Skull.
  
• A level 30 Sorcerer.
  
• A level 50 Witch.
  
• A level 30 Ninja.
  
• A level 20 Healer.
  
• A level 20 Onmyo Monk.
  
• A level 30 Valkyrie
  
• A level 30 Armor Knight
  
• A level 30 Archer

One last thing of note, in order to capture enemies, you'll need to be able to create the exact same unit, including the same tier already, so if you work on unlocking as much as you can now, when you need to start capturing enemies later, it could save you some time.

2. Create your team.

While playing through the game normally, I really recommend using a minimum number of characters, ten or fewer. The fewer characters you have, the less you'll have to grind the hard way, before you've got everything you need to grind efficiently. But eventually your goal will be be able to make the team you will require for post game power leveling. Your post game team will consist of:

• Your favorite story characters.
  
  
  • These will be the characters you're ultimately trying to power level. Story characters are generally the strongest, especially for their unique evilities. Valvatorez is a solid choice, besides the fact that he will have to be of a certain level to enable enemy capture. If you like magic, Emizel is a great mage.
  
  
• Optional but makes life easier: Fenrich
  
  
  • If you really hate Fenrich you don't have to use him, but he makes life easier since he's the one non-DLC story character that can learn Big Bang without chara world.
  
  
• Desco.
  
• At least one Masked Hero.
  
  
  • You will definitely want at least one for quickly running through the gates of item world to skip levels you don't care about. Masked Heroes are ideal for this purpose because with their movement stat maxed and the right equipment, they'll be able to run all the way across the map in one turn, and enemy characters won't block them due to their flying movement type. I say at least one because one is all you need to run all the way for the exit, however you may want two because sometimes there are gatekeepers blocking the exit, and so a second one can deal with the gatekeeper by moving it with a fist ability, while the other goes through the gate. But on the other other hand, once the Netherworld Express symbol is unlocked, all you really need is the one Masked Hero to place a station, and your other characters can take care of the rest from the station.
  
  
• Temporary: Some sort of healer.
  
  
  • I like to use a Healer reincarnated into a Professor, so she has access to all the healing spells and buffing spells. You'll definitely need a character specialized in healing while starting out, but eventually they will become obsolete.
  
  
• An Onmyo Monk.
  
• A Thief
  
• A Nekomata
  
• Optional/temporary: Armor Knights
  
  
  • You may want to make a team of Armor Knights for throwing characters to the gate until your Masked Heroes are good enough to run to the gate without any help. This is optional because you end up with so many story characters, most of them with a decent amount of throw, that you can throw across the map without a specially created team. You don't need to bother leveling up the characters you use only for throwing really either, since they'll mostly be used to skip maps, and so they won't need to be able to survive a fight.

3. Innocents and items.

• Gather Enforcer innocents
  
  
  • Enforcer innocents only appear on emblem items (Imperial Seal, Dark Rosary, Devil Ring, Feather Token, Sophia's Mirror, Pravda Pendant, Royal Ring, and Testament), which conveniently are a reward for hitting the award tiers for healing HP, SP, and resurrections combined in the hospital. Therefore, whenever an emblem award becomes available in the hospital, do NOT accept the item until it has an enforcer on it. If you cancel the awards screen without accepting, the item will refresh when you go back into the screen. Just keep canceling out until you see an Enforcer innocent.
  
  
• Save the first legendary item you find.
  
  
  • You will want a very low legendary item for the purpose of leveling up your innocents later. Don't go into the item world of this item without first reading the section about creating your innocent leveling item.
  
  
• Hold onto any items that have important innocents.
  
  • Enforcers of course
    
  • Managers
    
  • Professionals
    
  • Teachers
    
  • Mediators
    
  • Coaches (to improve damage with fists, which you definitely will be using), though this is lower priority because Coaches are common, and so you'll probably end up not even bothering with really low level Coaches.
    
  • Other innocents that boost the primary damage stat of a weapon you intend to use, such as Gladiators for attack. Again, this is lower priority because these types are common.
  
  
• Continuously buy upgrades to your equipment (especially weapons) in the store.
  
  
• Whenever you increase your customer rank at the store, pass the "more expensive stuff" bill.
  
  
  • A tip when passing any bills, before you attempt to pass, cancel and then reselect the bill. Every time you select the bill, the chances of it passing will change. Do this until you get the most favorable odds of it passing. You can pass a lot of bills without bothering to bribe or force the bill this way.
    
    
  • Expect to be constantly broke as normal play doesn't keep up with the cost of re-equipping your party. This is okay because eventually you'll have so much money it won't even matter.
    
    
  • The purpose of constantly having more expensive stuff is that you want to get the highest ranked possible items in the store, which is rank 30.
  
  
• Save up Gency's Exits as much as you can. You'll need them later.

As soon as you've beaten map 9-4, you can begin power leveling. The first time you beat map 9-4, it won't be obvious what's so good about it, but that's because the map is arranged very differently for subsequent tries, where there's a bunch of Eryngi arranged in a formation that can be perfectly targeted by big Desco's Yog Sothoth skill (which she learns at level 100). Thus, the procedure for starting your power leveling journey should be:

• Move the two geoblocks for increased XP and mana onto the geopanels.
  
• Fuse your Nekomata into Desco to get giant Desco.
  
• If you don't mind adding another step, cast Braveheart on big Desco, and she'll be able to take on even higher level Eryngi.
  
• Use Yog Sothoth on the Eryngi
  
• When you start, you may not be one shotting them, so keep going until all the Eryngi are dead.
  
• Keep beating the level over and over until you can very reliably one shot them.
  
• When you think you're ready, pass a stronger enemy bill / increase the enemy's level in the cheat shop. (The cheat shop is an added feature in Disgaea 4 Complete+.)
  
  • As a rule of thumb, I found that increasing the enemies's level when Desco was about four times their level seems to make it so she's able to one-shot the next harder level enemies on the first try.
• Take advantage of the mana and XP stealing symbols to help your other characters level up by proxy.
  
• You may want to proactively work towards teaching your characters Big Bang as well.
  
  • Fenrich learns Big Bang on his own at level 500, so it's possible you may get him this high just by gaining XP by being in the XP symbol.
    
  • Even if you decide to use Fenrich, you will want to be able to get Big Bang on Bouncers in order to teach it to your generics easier. You can reincarnate your generic characters or just create from scratch a generic you plan on using permanently as a Bouncer. Bouncers cannot learn Big Bang until their fourth tier, Netherworld SP's (when they can learn it at level 1 for 4800 mana), so the first step is unlocking all the tiers:
    
    • Level 40 Bouncer -> Bodyguard
      
    • Level 80 Bodyguard -> Problem Solver
      
    • Level 160 Problem Solver -> Netherworld SP
• Keep grinding and raising the enemy's levels this way until Desco and your Nekomata are at least level 1000.
  
  • With Disgaea 4 Complete+, you can adjust things such as the amount of mana and XP you earn using the cheat shop (the cheat shop was not available in some earlier versions of Disgaea 4). You should always adjust these as appropriate while grinding to help speed up your grind.
• Once you've leveled Desco and your Nekomata enough, you'll be ready for the next step, and you'll not be returning to 9-4 again.
  

Once you have Desco and your Nekomata around level 1,000, they should be strong enough to be able to clear the Mountain of Ordeals and pass bills by force:

• The Mountain of Ordeals bill will be available to characters with enough mana (7,000) to attempt to pass it.
  
• Switch the enemy level back down to their weakest level, either through weaker enemy bills or through the cheat shop.
  
• Now pass the Mount of Ordeals bill by force.
  
• Clear the Mountain of Ordeals.

Now you can start grinding on Mountain of Ordeals Map 4, which is the best leveling map in the game since the enemies are arranged perfectly for killing them all with a big magichange Big Bang, though unfortunately you probably won't be able to do that yet. So it's time to fix that.

Step 1: Get Big Bang.

If no one has Big Bang already, the first step is to get one character to learn Big Bang. See the previous section for the requirements for getting Big Bang on Fenrich or a Bouncer. You'll accomplish this by grinding out on map 4 in much the same manner as you did on map 9-4, using big Desco.

Step 2: Unlock the Fusion Lab.

At some point in all this grinding, you will definitely unlock the bill for creating the Fusion Lab symbol. This symbol will allow you to do big magichange. The requirement is killing a level 100+ enemy using a fused monster. Once this bill is available, pass it by force. Just make sure that the enemies are at their weakest when you do.

Step 3: Profit.

Now you have all the pieces that you can do big magichange Big Bang, which allow you to kill all the monsters of Mountain of Ordeals map 4 in a single blow. Nekomata magichange into a fist weapon, so for now on when grinding Mountain of Ordeals map 4, the steps will be:

• Fuse Desco into your Nekomata.
  
• Magichange the big Nekomata with a character who knows Big Bang.
  
• Use big magichange Big Bang.

Remember that low level legendary item I told you to hold onto but leave alone? Well, now you should have high enough level characters that going through low level item world will be a breeze. You'll need this item to start seriously collecting innocents, so it's the perfect time to create it.

But before you dive in...

Before you really start diving into item world, you'll need two subdued innocents: a Teacher and a Guardian. This is because Guardians are super strong innocents because they boost the stats of your equipment, but their downside is they're very hard to level up. The only way is by using a Teacher since you'll never see an unsubdued Guardian -- they only appear while reverse pirating, and they're less common and always rather low level. Therefore, you should have a Teacher and Guardian ready while you're seriously doing item world so you can combine leveling up your Guardian with whatever other task you're doing and cut down on item world diving. So your first task before anything else is to subdue a Teacher, the higher the better, but don't worry about it too much as higher level Teachers only increase the chances of getting the teacher event, but they don't increase innocents' levels any more than a low level Teacher. Then reverse pirate your first item, and keep resetting your game until you see a Guardian innocent and subdue it.

The only caveat is that you need to defeat some pirates to unlocking reverse pirating, so you may want to go ahead and work on your innocent leveling item in order to find some pirates, and then as soon as you have it available, get your Guardian.

Okay, NOW you're ready.

This process is pretty straightforward, which is to level the item to level 96, always taking the innocent growth path at every fifth floor. You stop at floor 96 because you want to still be able to enter the item's item world when you're done with it, and at floor 96, you'll have chosen as many innocent boosting paths as you possibly can without locking yourself out of the item's item world. The only thing to be aware of, is that there is a big laundry list of tasks you should always be doing while in every item world (with the exception of those times when you'll be in an item world that's too difficult for you to actually survive).

• Always transfer your subdued Teacher and Guardian onto the item before you enter item world.
  
• Always take as least one Gency's Exit and as many high level stealing hands as possible.
  
• Check the bonus gauge for any useful items.
  
  • If you need to fill the bonus gauge:
    
    • Clear out geopanels as much as you can. The easiest way to clear geopanels is to put all the blocks on one color, with preference to if there is a color there is no corresponding block for, and make sure the clear block is the farthest away from the first block you intend to destroy to start the chain.
      
    • If that isn't enough, use your thief to create barrels or boxes, then have your characters weakest at melee attack them in a chain. This way works best if you can clear the floor except for the gatekeeper who won't move.
• Check the enemies' equipment for any useful items you can steal.
  
• Wait two turns on each floor to see if you get a pirate event.
  
• Always go in mystery gates, unless there's a very compelling reason not to.
  
• Always pick up level spheres.
  
• Always kill any unsubdued innocents that appear.
  
• Never purchase anything unless you have all the Promotionhell Tickets.
  
• Whenever you see the Promotionhell Ticket Vendor, buy all the Promotionhell Tickets you can afford, and make absolutely sure they're the right tickets, since there are other ticket vendors. You can also immediately sell the Promotionhell Tickets back and use the money you get back to buy even more tickets.
  
• If you have the money and all the Promotionhell Tickets have been purchased, then you can start buying any items that can only be found through item world vendors.
  
• Get all the rewards from the Sphere Collector. At 200 spheres he gives you a Legendary Puppy Paw Stick, but make sure to keep refreshing the reward rather than collect it, until you see it is rarity level 0.
  
  • You'll eventually want all your equipment to be of the same rarity in order to get a stat bonus for having all the same rarity items equipped. People traditionally go with rarity 0, but honestly, it doesn't have to be rarity 0, as long as they're all the same.
• Once you've covered the earlier points, then do each floor as quickly as possible. If there's no reason to stick around, throw your characters for the exit, or run for the exit if your characters can move that far.
  
• At every tenth floor:
  
  • Exit the floor with a Gency's Exit and save your game.
    
  • Beat the floor, so you can get the Gency's Exit that always appears in the 0 bonus level.
    
  • If after beating the level, you don't get an innocent town or you don't get the Teacher event, reset and try again.
    
  • At the innocent town, make absolutely sure you talk to the Teacher, to level up your Guardian.

Then after every twentieth floor, reverse pirate the item.

• Before reverse pirating, clear out any subdued innocents to make more room for innocents.
  
• If you don't see a Guardian when reverse pirating, reset and try again.
  
• Pick up the level sphere and place it on your pirate ship.
  
• Kill the item general.
  
• Kill any useful innocents, especially those that are unique to reverse pirating: Guardians, Fencers, Fist Fighters, Fusion Lovers, Magichange Lovers, Monster Hunters, Cane Men, Lumberjacks, Deadeyes, Eros, and Staticians.

Okay, now I have the innocent leveling item ready, but how does it work?

Innocents subdued on a item fully leveled towards innocent growth will be nearly four times their original level, and when you unsubdue them by combining them with unsubdued innocents, their level decreases, but by significantly less than four times. Therefore, using the following method, you can now level your innocents very quickly.

• Start the cycle by getting a subdued innocent of the type you're trying to level.
  
• Get another item with an unsubdued innocent of the same type.
  
• Move the subdued innocent onto the item with the unsubdued innocent.
  
• Combine innocents on that item -- this will unsubdue your innocent, but that's what you want.
  
• Remember the Enforcers you were looking for on the emblem items from the hospital? Now use them to move your unsubdued innocent onto your innocent leveling item.
  
• Go into your innocent leveling item's item world. If you do not see your innocent on the 96th floor, then reset.
  
• When you do see your innocent, kill it and use Gency's Exit without beating the level.
  
• Rinse and repeat.

Now get yourself some high level innocents.

The innocents you'll want first are:

• A level 100 Teacher.
  
• Level 300 Managers, as many as you can tolerate grinding up.
  
• A level 100 Professional --- the 100% critical chance is huge!
  
• A level 19998 weapon stat innocent for whichever character you prefer to power level first, such as a Gladiator or a Coach.

Oh crap, I just ran out of Gency's Exits!

Following the above method, you'll quickly burn through your Gency's Exits, so you could easily end up unable to collect all the innocents you want. If this happens, don't sweat it. Just proceed to the next section of this guide, where you'll be spending time in chara world, which is a great source of Gency's Exits, and once you have some, come back to collecting innocents.

Oh crap, I just ran out of Enforcers!

Don't worry, on map 7-3 all the enemies will be equipped with Sophia's Mirrors. Whenever you need more Enforcers, go in there with a Thief and some stealing hands and steal them.

Now that you've got access to good innocents, you can start seriously improving your characters through reincarnation and chara world. You almost certainly have already unlocked the bill to access chara world already somewhere in the process of grinding, as the requirement is to have at least 100 stored levels on a single character from reincarnation (the higher level your character is on reincarnation, the more stored levels they'll end up with.)

Put all your innocents on the equipment of the character you plan on improving, then grind on the Mountain of Ordeals. You'll definitely want them to have equipped all the Managers, a Professional, a Guardian, and any innocents that will boost their damage. You'll probably want to hold off on Staticians right now, since you don't want your character to get too high level because you'll be doing chara world, and the higher level your character is, the higher level their chara world will be, and right now mainly what you're trying to do is to get all your characters the abilities, evilities, and boosts they need through chara world. You should be aiming to level your character to at least level 80 for the maximum aptitude benefit on reincarnation, but they should also be as low level as you possibly can achieve while still being at least level 80. For any generic characters you want to improve, reincarnate them into other classes to get them the various evilities and abilities they need as well. For story characters, you'll have to do that through chara world.

Examples of things you'll want to get your characters:

• Big Bang, of course
  
• Movement increase
  
• Throw increase
  
• Jump increase
  
• Lucky Finger (the evility from level 500 tier 6 thieves)
  
• Trick Move (the evility from level 1 tier 3 slumber cats)
  
• Tera Heal / Peta Heal (Peta heal was added in newer versions of Disgaea 4)
  
• Espoir

Get any other abilities or evilities you think are necessary, but don't go too crazy. Try to pare it down to what you think is really essential, otherwise you'll just be wasting time on stuff you'll never end up using.

And, of course, there's a laundry list of things you should be doing every time you're in chara world...

• Before you start, make sure to put the character you'll be doing chara world with in the symbol that you would like to have more area.
  
• If attempting to learn a skill or evility through chara world, make sure to place the character you're trying to learn the skill or evility from in the same symbol as the character you're improving.
  
• Make sure to have a lot of mana available for purchasing the various things in chara world. If you don't, grind a bit using a different character in Mountain of Ordeals map 4, using the mana stealing symbol to get the character you're preparing for chara world more mana without getting extra XP
  
  • It tells you most of the mana costs up front, but for the hidden vendors, learning rank 7 or 8 weapon skills costs 2,400 mana and 4,800 mana respectively, and for increasing the size of the evil symbol : 1st time - 5,000 mana, 2nd time - 50,000 mana, 3rd time - 500,000 mana, 4th time - 5,000,000 mana, 5th time - 9,999,999 mana
• Use abilities with big area of effect like Big Bang as much as possible in chara world, so you can uncover as many squares as possible in the hopes you'll get spheres and heart conservatives.
  
• Kill all spheres and heart conservatives.
  
• Only when it's super easy on floors 1-9, clear all the geo blocks. You don't want to waste too much time on this. Clearing all the blocks on a floor will reduce the cost of improvements by 5%, which isn't so much, and it doesn't affect the hidden vendors, so it's not that critical to waste a ton of time getting.
  
• Destroy null or prism geoblocks, which will also uncover heart conservatives and spheres.
  
• Go in the mystery gate on the 9th floor to get your extra benefit.
  
• The first time you reach the 10th floor, if you have not already gone in the mystery gate in another floor by clearing all the geo blocks, clear all the geo blocks to reveal another mystery gate, and buy either more symbol area or new specials from the vendor that's there.
  
• Kill the president
  
• Clear the 10th floor to get the Gency's Exit.
  
  • Chara world is a great source for Gency's Exits, since unlike item world, there's no reason to leave chara world and come back.

Once you've finished everything from chara world, it's a good time to start getting your first set of good equipment. If you've been following this guide, at this point you'll almost certainly gotten the highest ranked items from the store by passing all the More Expensive Stuff bills in the senate. So now, purchase any rank 30 item, which is the highest ranked item you will be able to find in the store. These are Bloody Hand, Heavenly Wings, Romulus' Spear, Celestial Bow, Flame Thrower, Rune Axe, Requiem, Cerberus Jaw, and Article 29: Threat, and a Valkyrie Dress. Which one doesn't matter, because all you care about is using it for its item world. Remember when going in this item's item world, to still follow the list of what you should be doing in item world under the section about making your innocent leveling item.

Once in this item's item world, however, you'll also be doing the following:

• Have your Onmyo Monk and Thief ready when you go into item world.
  
• Go through item world normally until you get to a level with a gatekeeper.
  
• Max out the bonus gauge using the method stated before.
  
  • By chain clearing geopanels.
    
  • Or by chaining characters with weak attacks to destroy boxes or barrels created by your Thief.
• Use your Onmyo Monk to change the bonus gauge over and over until you see either a legendary Accelerator, a legendary Testament, or a legendary rank 34 weapon that you need. Rank 34 weapons include: Money Fist, Fragarach, Bruenack, Phoenix Bow, Victory Magnum, Gigas Hammer, Holy Staff, Basilisk Eye, and Article 33: Revolt. You don't want any other items than the ones mentioned, as for your three armor/accessories slots, the best item type is an emblem, with the exception of speed equipment being useful to enable your Masked Heroes to run across the map quickly.
  
• Once the bonus gauge is full and contains an item you want, beat the floor.

Level up your new equipment.

Once you have a selection of good equipment, you'll want to start leveling up that equipment. Don't worry about making this equipment perfect since it's not going to be your final equipment. Just pass primary attack stat bills (or movement bills if it's an Accelerator) when you get the opportunity, follow the list of what you should be doing in every item world from the innocent leveling item section of this guide, and of course on every fifth floor, go through the item growth route rather than the innocent growth route. Just don't level ALL of your rank 34 equipment. You'll not want to level all of your rank 34 equipment, because you'll need their item worlds for later. However, the rank 34 equipment you hold on to for later does not need to be rare or legendary.

And one last thing while leveling your first item...

In the original version of Disgaea 4, at floor 90 and higher, there's the possibility of seeing Meowkin pirates. So, if you are playing the original Disgaea 4, on the first item you actually fully level, you should reset at floor 100 if you never see the Meowkin pirates, and do floors 90 through 100 again.

In Disgaea 4 Complete+, the Meowkin pirates can appear at early as floor 21, and can have their likeliness to appear increased through the Cheat Shop. Therefore, in Disgaea 4 Complete+, there is no reason to reset to find the Meowkin Pirates, but before leveling your first item, be sure to visit the Cheat Shop to increase your likelihood of finding them.

Either way, make sure to find them and kill them at this point, as you will be needing the ship part they have very soon.

Once you've gotten that ship part, keep getting good equipment until either you're satisfied for now, or you have purchased all the Promotionhell tickets, whichever comes last.

Now equip your characters with your new equipment.

Equip the Accelerators on your Masked Heroes. Equip as many as you can onto one Masked Hero, and have him walk across any battle map as far as he can, which should unlock the Netherworld Express symbol bill. Pass this bill by force, and place your Masked Hero in the Netherworld Express symbol, and he will now be able to place a station, which will make your item world runs even speedier. The rest of your stuff should be prioritized to your best character, because you'll need it for the Land of Carnage...

Now you're about ready to go to the Land of Carnage, except you have to unlock it first. The Land of Carnage is unlocked by doing 39% of the X-Dimension maps, which are unlocked by buying the Promotionhell Tickets, and by acquiring all the P Flonzer parts, one of which comes from the Meowkin Pirates.

The X-Dimension maps are generally gimmicky maps. Please consult an existing guide if you're having trouble beating enough to unlock the Land of Carnage. Important tip: As you clear the X-Dimension, at every 20% completion, you will be able to collect a legendary unique item. Do NOT accept this item until you see it has a rarity of 0.

Collect the P Flonzer parts

As for getting the rest of the P Flonzer parts, this involves capturing and disciplining monsters via the Discipline Room symbol. The bill for unlocking the symbol is unlocked after throwing enemy units 3 times, though I would expect you will have already unlocked this bill a long time ago in the process of playing. If you haven't already, pass the bill.

Once the Discipline Room symbol is unlocked, there are specific monsters you will need to discipline and force them to tell you where their treasure is. Take note that you must fulfill several requirements in order to be able to capture a monster for discipline:

• You can already create the same monster, including the same tier, already.
  
• The monster must be lower level than Valvatorez.
  
• Even if Valvatorez is higher level than the monster you capture, you still need enough high level characters in your base while attempting capture to actually capture it.
  
• You must have the Discipline Room symbol on the board to have the beastmaster in your base. They are who you talk to in order to discipline monsters.
  
• Completely fill the Discipline Room symbol with characters, to have the maximum effect while disciplining the monster.

If the base ends up being destroyed instead of the monster getting captured, it's because you've accidentally not met one of the requirements. Once you've successfully captured monsters, you can start disciplining them.

However, there are specific types of monsters you will need to discipline to get the parts. On top of that, the higher level the monsters, the higher the chance of it giving you the ship part. Therefore, set enemies to their highest level using stronger enemy bills, or through the cheat shop, and then start capturing the following:

• At 9-6, a level 446 Gambriel (tier 2 Rifle Demon), for the legs
  
• At X-Dimension 7-3, a level 2500+ Thanatos (tier 6 Death), for the left arm
  
• At X-Dimension 7-6, a level 1390 Prinny King (tier 5 Prinny), for the right arm
  
• At X-Dimension 10-1, a level 1540 Force Knight (tier 5 Magic Knight), for the wings
  
• At X-Dimension 10-1, a level 1540 Alchemist (a tier 5 Professor), for the head

Once a monster is captured, talk to the beastmaster and discipline it. You should get three options to discipline the monster, and one of them should drain its SP faster than the others. Once its SP is completely drained, select "Negotiate" and "Find Treasure." If once you discipline the monster, the treasure is not revealed to be on an X-Dimension map, reset and try again. Once the treasure is on an X-Dimension map, go to the level specified, open the chest and beat the level. Keep repeating this until you get all the parts, and the Land of Carnage is finally unlocked. The Land of Carnage is a very difficult area, so when you go, you'll want to make sure you reset the enemies' strength back down to their weakest.

Remember those unleveled rank 34 items you've been holding onto? Now, go to the Land of Carnage, and enter their item worlds there. Use the same process you used to obtain your legendary rank 34 equipment to get legendary rank 39 equipment from the bonus gauge. The items you're specifically looking for are: Arcadia, Barefoot X, Ultimus, Yoshitsuna, Holy Ray, Lovely Cupid, Demiurge, Apocalypse, Archangel's Staff, ♥♥♥♥♥ Force, and Article 38: D-Lord. Just don't go too far into the item world in the Land of Carnage, because it gets really hard really quickly.

Once you have your rank 39 items, you'll want to level them up like you did for your rank 34 items, (not in the Land of Carnage) except stop at floor 99 by using a Gency's Exit. You'll be doing floor 100 later.

At this point, you'll want to keep grinding items until you get a Guardian to at least level 250, and you acquire a rarity 0 Puppy Paw Stick as the reward from the Sphere Collector.

And it's time to start item duping!

Equip a character you'd like to work on who isn't your best character, with one of your rank 39 items. The rank 39 item should also have as many rare innocents as you can fit on it, so the innocents will be duped as well. Most importantly, you'll want to dupe your Guardian, next priority is innocents you get exclusively from reverse pirating, with Staticians are lower priority out of those as they're easier to get. Now, start reincarnating that character, go into their item world, and kill any Heart Cons you find using your best character, equipped with the Puppy Paw Stick. Your goal is to get a level 500 Guardian through duping.

Tip: You can even dupe an item much stronger than your other equipment. Once the heart conservative spawns, un-equip the item you're trying to dupe from the character you're chara-worlding, and equip it on the character with the puppy paw stick. Just remember to re-equip the item on the original character once you've killed the heart conservative.

Back to the Land of Carnage

Equip your best character with all your best equipment and innocents, especially the Guardian and all the Staticians you have, and that character should be able to one shot the Mountain of Ordeals Map 4 in the Land of Carnage. Grind this map for a while, while taking advantage of the XP stealing symbol to make your Thief level 9999.

Now you can steal your rank 40 equipment

Now that your Thief should be good enough to be able to steal the legendary rank 40 equipment, which will always appear on the item god present at floor 100 of legendary rank 39 equipment, if you go to the item world in the Land of Carnage. So go back into the item world of your rank 39 items, which you have helpfully already leveled to 99, use your fist users and Masked Heroes to skip to floor 100. At floor 100, reset your game if the item god does not have a rarity 0 legendary rank 40 item equipped. Once you have assured the item the item god has is the correct rarity, use your thief to steal the item on the first turn, then use Gency's Exit to leave immediately. You won't be able to kill anything.

Rank 41 and 42 weapons

Rank 41 and 42 weapons were added in newer versions of Disgaea 4. You will get them instead of another rank 40 item from the item god in the Land of Carnage in the previous step, so you'll have to repeat the previous step a couple of times to work your way up to rank 42 weapons.

Perfecting your equipment

Oddly enough, there's no reason to try too hard to level your legendary rank 40 equipment perfectly before level 99. Therefore, simply level up your rank 40 items like you did with your rank 39 items, and once again use Gency's Exit to leave at floor 99.

Now, also like before, you have the option to go into the rank 40 item's item world in the Land of Carnage, and steal another rarity 0 legendary rank 40 item of the same type. But you don't need to do this too much, because it'll be easier to dupe your perfect legendary rank 40 items than to make multiple from scratch. It's also very important at this point to not finish the floor, but rather use Gency's Exit to leave.

You also have the option to move an unsubdued mystery innocent onto the rank 40+ item, and subduing it over and over until you end up with a unique innocent you want, such as a Mode Changer, Hand Shaker, or Sweet Tempter. However, the odds of your getting the unique innocent you want are very low, so if you don't have the patience to reset your game this much, you can just skip this. Also of note, I believe that you can only get one unique innocent on an item, though I cannot confirm this.

In order to make your item truly perfect, with the highest possible stats, all you have to do is kill the item god, and then use a Gency's Exit to leave without finishing the floor. (not in the Land of Carnage). Then you go back into the item, kill the item god again, and so forth. Each time you kill the item god, the stats of the item will increase, so keep doing this as long as you have more than one Gency's Exit, or until the stats on the item are maxed at 2.1 million.

Lastly, there is a chance of getting the mushroom at the innocent town that will allow you to pass bills. Since you'll be killing the item god over and over to max the item's stats, the only bills that will be of use will be movement, jump, and attack range. You can pass a total of six bills, at the earliest on floors 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 70. You will want to reset on those floors if you do not see the mushroom in the innocent town, to make sure you pass all the bills.

Perfecting your characters

Of course you'll run out of Gency's Exits while doing all of this, so when you need more, reincarnate your strongest character to work on maxing out their aptitudes by entering their chara world like before at level 80+. At the same time, you'll want to attempt duping your best rank 40+ items, along with as many hard to get innocents as possible. Although no sweat, if you don't succeed at duping anything, there's no need to reset at this time. This time, after you're done with the chara world for the character, level them up to level 9,999 before reincarnating them again to start working up their stored levels (i.e. the amount of bonus stats you can allot when reincarnating). Make sure you have 186,000 stored levels on the character. Once you have all the stored levels, if you're really close to maxed aptitudes, you can top them off using serums, but this effect will go away if you reincarnate.

Keep leveling up your rank 40+ items, duping, and working up aptitudes until you have a full set of rarity 0 items with stats at 2.1 million, and your strongest character has 300% in all aptitudes.

Then make perfect equipment and level aptitudes on your other characters.

Somewhere along the way, take a break to finish all the extra stages and X-Dimension.

And that's it. You've beaten the game!
