How to Share
Sharing your creations to Steam Workshop is not the biggest hurdle to jump, but it does currently require a bit of extra elbow grease. This is an area we're constantly looking to improve, but in the meantime, the process looks a little something like this:

1. Build your Level
Unfortunately this isn't a guide on how to use Mondrian Maker, but that guide IS built into Mondrian Maker itself. Read through the mini manual in the upper-right hand corner to help you get started. When you're ready to share, you can move onto Step 2.

2. Create a Thumbnail
With your level complete, open click the "Play your Level" button and select "Open in Studio." In Mondrian Studio, you can create and save a Thumbnail for Steam Workshop! The only requirement is that the thumbnail must be in a 1:1 or 4:3 size ratio. Otherwise, move some sliders around, adjust the color scheme, select a background, and create a design that compliments your level. When it's done, go to the last tab (Snapshot Capture) and select "Save Thumbnail." A JPG will automatically save to the game's Thumbnails folder.

You can learn more about Mondrian Studio in YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya6YuOH5-mU

3. Share your Creation
Back in Mondrian Maker, click the Share button (three circles on a bigger circle). If you have a [Your Level Name].jpg that matches [Your Level Name].mondrianlevel, the Share window will display your thumbnail, as well as a big Steam button! If there is a mismatch or a missing thumbnail, the thumbnail will be an oldschool-internet broken image icon and you won't be able to share just yet.

Before you submit, double check your Sharing options, which include Privacy, Type, and Entry.
Privacy
  • Public: Anyone can download and play your level!
  • Friends Only: Anyone on your friends list can download and play your level.
  • Private: Nobody can download or play your level except you. Useful if you need to hop over to your laptop to keep working.
Type
  • Level: Playable artistic creations, meant to be enjoyed by all.
  • Template: Creations that are meant to be edited into new levels
Entry
  • Freeform: A regular level or template. Unless a Gala is live, this button is locked to this choice.
  • Gala Entry: A contest submission. When Galas are live, this becomes an option, and you can submit your creation for a chance at winning prizes like custom Thumbnail frames, Twitch subscriptions, and more!
Click the big Steam button to share your level to Workshop. Levels uploaded to Workshop will auto-sort based on the name of the current "Movement," ie the latest feature update. A progress bar will display while it's being uploaded, and you'll get a notification telling you when it's done! Levels should upload in just a few seconds. They'll be immediately visible on your profile, and will hit the public Workshop after a little bit of time.

And that's all there is to it! If you have any trouble, please let us know in the forums.
