A feature advertised for the Colonies edition of Lost Planet was the introduction of two new camera modes, first person view, and an RE4 style over the shoulder one. While the first person view is a menu option, for whatever reason, the devs decided to make the over the shoulder one a secret button combo.

It's quite simple: Load into your game, then hold down the crouch key and press the left arrow key or left on a controller's dpad, and voila.

It also works with the normal edition.

Thanks! The only version I played before was the og 360 release and I wasn't aware of that feature. I'll add it to the PCGW's entry.
I messed around and found that if you press the RIGHT stick (Reload) instead of the left stick (Crouch) and press left/right on the D-Pad, it'll switch to a higher FOV. It does work with this RE4 camera. Dunno if that's a known thing or not.
