No this is perfect, weeding out the 75 percent of players that are lowskill is the perfect way to ensure the game dies asap. Hunt doesn't need a playerbase, playerbases are for other games, games with playercounts.

what is that strange talk about noob bashing xD i rarely see any new player on my servers.
anyway- if i lose a game i usually blame myself for that. its absolutly fine to get bested by a better player. its absolutly fair to lose a game to a better player, if you both had the same starting point. in fact this is what is supposed to happen.

"how [...] would a balanced gaming experience in this design look like" - You get matched with players in your skill range. Simple as that.
xD sure thing ... very simple ...simple minded. skill range?! the guys who kill me with a better kd usually sit in bushes with romeros.
so i guess this guys are to good. maybe i should also ask for better metchmaking... there is not even a good measure for this type of gameplay to acount the skill range.

"youre just in the wrong neighborhood." - doubt. :steamhappy:

"if you cant win more there is no point at beeing good."- let me translate this for you: If you can't bash noobs, you won't enjoy the game anymore, eh?

How is facing a challenge a punishment? lol
Didn't you call it a "hardcore-type game" before? :winter2019coolyul:

Wait now a challenge is no longer a problem? because fighting uphill while learning the game is just that... every good player around had to do this to get decent ...
its more about yourself. instead of having the mindset to improve your gameplay you want the game to get easyer on you. youre just in the wrong neighborhood.

the game is designed to have 5 people loosing a game and 2 guys winning it. how da shit would a balanced gaming expirience in this design look like?! if you dont win 4 games in a row they put you on an empty server so you can keep the 20% winratio and feel good?

again: there is no ladder, no leagues, no nothing. the only thing a good player can achieve is to win more fights. if you cant win more there is no point at beeing good.

The game might as well just not have skill based matchmaking at all and just dump everyone together regardless of skill level. Cause that is basically what it is right now

Honestly, I think the big thing to shout from a soapbox is that matchmaking should prioritize balanced fights over full servers. Right now the servers are populated with people of "equal pvp_rating", but wildly different actual skill bases because the higher tiers of matchmaking are sparse. So hunters that Crytek would consider average (for a much larger player base, think ~1.0 k/a/d) are taking on fights against hunters rocking a 3.7 k/a/d simply because the player base is so thin in average-high skill ranges. This is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy too, because as players slog through the bayou to reach this tipping point, they are dropped in with veterans of the game who WILL demoralize less dedicated players. The recently introduced Training Mode will help enthuse new players, but eventually they are forced to leave the kitty pool, and BOY are they in for a killjoy.
Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk in the comments of a good meme of a Steam community post. See you in the Bayou.

playing against bad players doesnt make you any better... good luck in the bayou
