Set Up

Getting started is easy, get 6 Wheat farms and create a platform to place them on. Place one or two at the edge of the platform then hold the next one over the edge where you cant place it.

hold the left click button and drag it over the previous plots, it should start to stack them, repeat this until you have a stack of about 6

with the latest update fixing seed planting, this now works without need for resetting up with plantations

Farming it

Once its set up you can repeat this stack as many times as you want, making stacks over 6 means you can't collect all the Wheat.
make sure to leave room on one side to actually be able to hit all the plots

stand at the side and hit the stack with your sword

And Finally to collect it just stand on top of the stack

This method doesn't work anymore, but you can still stack plots by placing a platform above a plot, putting a plot on that platform, and removing the platform from below. The plot will fall and the engine will push the player upwards through them.

With all of the space on the map, why would you need to stack at all. Unless it's just for convenience.

For wheat no they regrowth for free
All others crops wil lask you to put seed as i know , maybe try seed in a dispenser ?

but if you break around 7 or 8 field without collect , all broken crop will make older disappear cuz item limitation reached , i think its why its recommended here to use 6

you can stack upto 65 (max i have done) in 1 tile you just have to put the sprinkler onto the plat and it will squash all the farms down enough to be able to harvest all at once.

You can actually stack farms using conveyor belts, it is super easy and if you have it go to a conveyor storage chest you can put a sprinkler on the side and a bot on the belt. You now have a super dense auto wheat farm. (it helps to put walls above the chest since the bot sometimes clips through the roof)
