Castle Defense Objects [Updating]
By Accolade
A brief overview of items used to defend your castle since there are no tool tips or tutorial yet in-game. As this just came out today and I did not purchse the Alpha, I have not been able to write a more extensive guide yet. Hope it helps.

Pit Bull - Kills when occupying the same space as a thief. 3 step line of sight

Chihuahua - Same as Pit bull, minus the ability to kill. Use to test placement of Pit Bull without getting yourself killed. Also used to step on buttons when attracted to you and activate whatever trap you are on, typically electrical floors.

Cat - Tries to avoid you. Primarily used as a puzzle mechanic to make it press switches.
Special Items
[Wife]'s Shotgun (trigger locked) - your wife's only form of protection...apart from your wits. Put it in her path to the door and she will grab it after spotting a thief and beggining to flee (untested: may be able to put it near her rather than in her path).

The wife will shoot thieves with 3(?) steps of her

About powered doors... they are open when there is NOT power, and they close when there IS power. That fact just cost me a beautiful home.

Good tips after an hour of failure in game.

There is a wiki...I would suggest using it, so we can all share information on the wiki's pages, which are considerably better for lots of data sharing than Steam's forums.

Correction:
Powered Trapdoor - closes when power is connected to it (you can pass safely), opens when there is no power (you will fall inside and die).

Note: ive seen people using the chihuahua for more then just pitbull placement, people use it just like the opposite of the cat, to push buttons just following insted of running away. example i was walking up a hallway cautiously, filled with electric traps, when i get near the end a chihuahua comes close hitting the button at the end and frying me. :health:
