Life is Strange - No Depth of Field
By Firewalk
A simple guide to turn off the Depth of Field graphics feature. This removes all DOF effects from the game, so if you prefer your games without that effect, give it a look! Since our eyes naturally act this way already, I tend to find it very distracting in games, but do bear in mind that this drastically changes the feel of the game. There are several screenshots below to give you an idea.

Note: This does seem to break the interaction popup whenever Max gets items highlighted for use, but it doesn't prevent you from interacting with them (see pic below).

Setup
Step 1

First, locate the "Config" folder in your Life is Strange directory, as seen below and look for an .ini file called "BaseEngine.ini". I recommend making a backup of the file just in case something goes hella wonky with it!

Step 2

After that, open the file with a text editor program (in my case, I used Windows' pre-installed Notepad). In here, locate the "DepthOfField" option. If you have trouble finding it, use a text search (Ctrl+F) and enter "DepthOfField" to search the section you need automatically.

Step 3

Be default, the option will be set to "True" and there's no way way to change this ingame. However, here we can make one simple edit. Replace "True" with "False" and then save the file.

That's all! Go ingame and check if anything changed!
Visual Difference
Here are some screenshots to illustrate how this changes the game:

A Minor Problem
The one issue that this change brings is that it seems that interaction popups seem to break as a result (the floating interaction text when Max approaches an interactive item). As noted earlier, they still do work, but you gotta use them blindly now. In general, mouse+up is "Look" and mouse+down is "Use", barring some exceptions. If you know the game by heart, this shouldn't be too much of an issue, but I thought I better mention this as it can be annoying. As to why this seems to be tied to the Depth of Field effect? I have no clue.

Thanks!
Thanks for trying my little graphics tweak. If you don't like it, simply undo the change you made and reset the DOF setting back to "True", no re-installation necessary!
