This addon is now obsolete. Without this, the game now announce message of player joining on local server. For anyone who also want sound and Steam ID addition, try Player connect notification .

If I enter an official server, the mod is going to work?
StoopHavinFun97 15 feb 2024, ore 18:05

I think a recent update broke some scripts. This one prints both Joining and Joined messages when a player is connecting.

it also was one of the first addons I installed (with Left4Bots, take bot item, Dynamic Light and Self Propelled Props) but I could remove all other vpks temporarily to check if anything is interfering

yes, it does get loaded on server boot, it logs the following:
>>> Loading addon script /home/container/left4dead2/addons/Player Connection Notifier2020OCTOBER25-0752.vpk/scripts/vscripts/director_base_addon.nut
[Player Connection Notifier]
Author: Sw1ft
Version: 1.0.2

I'm not sure if that's all it logged on the other served because it *just worked* and I already cancelled that one
Thanks

Are you sure the addon is installed on your server?

Also, for previous Xeno response, I'd argue against cluttering the chat with SteamIDs, you can get those from the Steam Overlay by going to View Players, then blocking the person. Reporting them does nothing and doesn't prevent them from joining you again, blocking them does.
