Use layering of doors to better protect your hut.

Unfortunately it is rather difficult to place them from the outside and get back into your base.
Instead, make use of the Pickup function (upgrade tool, hold right click to bring up the context menu)

Pickup your doors as you come and go and re-place them behind you to create double doors and maximise your safety.

Remember, don't play harder, think smarter. Be smart caveman guy.
