Work in Progress. Spoilers are marked generously so you can browse at your discretion. Suggestions and corrections are welcome. Note: My first playthrough is still a work in progress.

Inspiration
Your inspiration allows you to create paintings. You earn it for quests, discovering new areas, lore, and items among other things. It appears to go higher than rank 10, but it never seems to stick. So be sure to create paintings for quests if your inspiration rank is getting close to 10. That way you don't find yourself stuck in slow-mo. The inspiration mechanic is all about balance.

If you're struggling for inspiration in between quests:
Repeatable interaction: there is a musician on the beach east-south-east of Kestral's Aerie on Seltspring Coast that you can listen to.

Inventory
There doesn't appear to be an item cap on anything except on equipment. So be sure to gather every item you come across. Though, if you're going to an RP-like experience, mind the Black Thistle. Though, you may require one for a quest, it's protected by the land's laws. The most I've experienced thus far is a scolding though.

Black Thistle
An NPC does accept one for a quest, and I don't know if there's an alternate way to unlock the second part. Which is her sending you out for Scragweed to make up for your misdeed. After initial turn-in of ten, she gives you three Glowstones per Scragweed.

Equipment
Some equipment can be left behind such, so be sure not to pack it up when you're not using it.

Trade
There's someone in Nava that will buy everything for one glowstone. Though, a few items are worth reserving for quests that can be more lucrative.

Gathering
Most gathering items (plants, wood, and similar things) respawn after 2-3 in-game days.

Repeatable Quests

Glowstones
Yunus: Part 3 of a short questline. One glowstone per feather brought back to him.

Roshanara: Part 5 of the short questline. Three glowstones per Scragweed you give her.

Tolls, Travel, and Rest
Bridge tolls, wagon travel, and inn fees are only charged once, then you can use them again anytime you want.

With inns, you can choose the hours your character sleeps. While resting isn't required, it's the best way to pass the time until you can go out at night without worry about the cold. Which is A coat in Nava that costs 80 Glowstones.
Fishing
Perhaps among the easier fishing mechanics among games that include the skill. You do require a Fishing Rod which can be obtained in a major town. Specifically: in Nava at the market.

Bait
Inky Cap (gathering)
Fooxitar Eggs (gathering)
Fish: Ultramarine Minnow to catch Thundertrout to catch Drymouth Sandfish.

How To Fish
You have to be in an area where you can see schools of fish swimming in the water. Then click your fishing pole in your inventory and select a bait and aim for a school of fish. The fishing pole will not appear on screen if it's not usable in the current area.

  • You should only have to add bait once until you put your rod away.
  • Wait until the bobber is underwater to start reeling.
  • You can move while casting and reeling.
  • Left mouse to use the casting and reeling.
  • Bait is only consumed in two cases: if you catch something or the line breaks.

Tension: Let go of the button to cease reeling, this will ease on tension, then resume when the line returns to it's normal color. The line gradually changes colors indicating tension. Colors:Default --> Yellow --> Red.

Another semi-repeatable inspiration is listening to the story each night in the Tarnished Teapot. You can get more inspiration for a story you've already heard, as I did just now.

I managed to cast the line with bait attached, but do not know how to reel. Do I have to use the mouse and move the rod back and forth?

I completed this game twice and have every achievement. I knew all of these already tbh, but it's nice to see someone else know a lot about this game, and especially nice to share it with the community :) Bravo
