Solo as Medic
By SilverWF
A simple guide for that ones, who wanna play solo, who got bored of dumb party members, stupid matchmaker or just got no friends.
As you might notice already, this guide is about Field Medic class, who can made any map or difficulty with minimum efforts solo.

Medic?
IMO, this is the best class by his "firepower / survivability" ratio in the game

Other classes might have better damage output, but way worse survivability or vice versa.
Skills and weapons
Spec

Nothing special, just RRRRR spec. Left skills 10, 15 and 20 lvls may affect us (with medic nade, 501's nade, Hemoclobber heavy), but it's better to have constant bonuses, not even talking that R tree is still stronger.

lvl 5 - just insane defensive boost while we have low HP, which is maxed at 50% defense while we at 50 HP. Basically, all incoming damage would be halved at this point. Add here your insane amount of armor and you could easely tank even several FPs at HoE for a few seconds, no joke.
You just need to get used to sit at 50-60 HP and not try to heal yourself here.

lvl 10 - clip size boost (good) and extra 10% movement speed (insanely good!)

lvl 15 - your perk weapons apply a poison to zeds. DOT value is lol - depending on the base damage value of current weapon, but still enough to kill weakest zeds without extra attention.
Skill shows his true power with the sniper rifle.

lvl 20 - just 20% damage boost for perk weapons, plain and simple.

lvl 25
Right one is awesome on paper: slowing zeds and good poison, but without Commando you would barely notice it's effect.
Left one didn't heal us, but AOE healing could poison zeds and distract that pesky crawlers and stalkers, that like to sneak behind so much.
This skill is on your choice.

Weapon
At waves 1 and 2 our starting pistol is more than enough to headshot most zeds around. Kite when you need to. Don't even buy armor - save your dosh for shotgun.

At HoE, especially if you are bad in the aiming, you could start maps and do waves 1 and 2 as Berserker. Use his starting shovel, kite when need to, don't buy anything for him.
You could use this spec for Zerk:

At wave 3 switch to Medic, sell showel and/or medic pistol and buy shotgun.

Buy sniper rifle before Final (or Boss) wave and upgrade it before Boss wave.

Your setup before Boss wave should be:

Why shotgun? Awesome firepower, penetration, fire rate and reload.
Why sniper rifle? We need something ultimate for fatty zeds and bosses. Also, alt.fire (healing dart) able to stun or even kill.

Everything else - just BS, that could lead you to being cornered or running like crazy in hope to find ammo box.
Tactics
You always should know - which landscape lays behind you. Being cornered and surrounded is not your sweet goal, especially at HoE.
Do not forget, in the "oh sh!t" cases, that you still have healing nades, that also poison zeds. And poisoned (green) zeds losts their attention to you for a second.

Regular zeds
Oneshot them with headshots or to any body part (do not forget about poison)

Sirens, Husks and other Riots
Siren - headshot her with shotgun
Husks - bodyshot them with shotgun at middle range
Riots - shoot to legs
Bloats - 1-2 headshots, do not waste ammo on bodyshots!
Don't be shy to use Incision here - it's better to spent 1 sniper round to kill distant Rioter or Siren, before they buffed their allies, than chaotically spray your shotgun ammo later in hope to kill something while at shaking red screen.

SC and FP
Pull out your sniper rifle! It deals ~600 direct damage and 3 ticks by 200-250 damage in the 2 sec (because of lvl 15 passive). It also applies electrocute effect for 1 second, that forces zeds to stay calm bit longer.
SC at HoE need just one hit to any part with upgraded Incision. Without upgrade: 1 Incision hit and 1 with any weapon, even 9mm.
FP needs 2 Incision hits in the any case, to any part (at HoE). It's usually easy to bodyshot them as 1st hit and 2nd one could be landed anywhere, even to fists.
Quarters need 1 hit, you could easely kill even 2 or 3 if shoot them perfectly in the row.

Most dangerous non-bosses
EDARs. They are robots, so not affected by poison (deals 1 damage per tick, lol). It's hard to oneshot them even with Incision at HoE. And most dangerous here are bombers - they could make you cry, so try to kill them 1st or kite behind corners.
Bosses
There is boss at the end of any map. Boss fights are vary from "ez pez" to "omg I did this!"
General rule: before Boss wave try to find more or less open space with kiting capabilities and world objects that would help you to LOS out of most dangerous attacks.

Use Incision mostly for bosses, of course, in hip fire mode - there is no need to snipe anything on bosses. At least - for us.

Most boss fights you are kiting while backing away - we have enough speed to do that. In some cases would be smart to turn away and sprint - to keep safe distance.

Patriarch
One of the easiest bosses, you can keep him at mid range easy. In the most cases he would die even before 1st healing - from DOTs while running away. Avoid his rockets.

Hans Volter
Kinda same as Patriarch, but sometimes he uses energy shield, which is kinda "immune" to poison.
Nothing scary - just continue shotting him with Incision

Abomination
Just fat and slow boss, kite and shoot him with sniper rifle and afraid nothing.

FP king
Kinda same as Abomination, but he could hit us one or two. Back away and shoot, avoid his beam behind corners (or you can just crouch, thx for reminder to Pan).

Matriarch
All previous bosses was kinda easy, but this one is hardest. And not by himself, but because of his minions - she summons lots of EDARs. So do not let them overwhelm you and try to focus on them 1st. Boss byself is nothing special - back away, shoot somewhere to head, be happy.

Note: you could learn which boss is awaits you by typing this text in the console after map has been started, even while at Lobby.
getall kfgamereplicationinfo bossindex
It will return a digit: 0 - Hans, 1 - Patriarch, 2 - King FP, 3 - Abomination, 4 - Matriarch
Conclusion
Yes, with enough skill, talent and experience, you can do HoE solo at any class, I think.
But for me, Medic is easiest one - it's so easy, that this is even boring.

Yes I know, that RRRRR medic is most hated in the multiplayer games. But this guide is for solo games. Or for cases, where you realize that your team is trash, but it's too late to leave.

No doubt, OP is noob and lol, you couldn't even bother to type this.

Latest map I've done like this: Desolation
Survival, solo, 4 waves, HoE. Waves 1 and 2 was Zerk (failed here several times, lol), waves 3 and 4 as Medic. Boss was Hans Volter.

Thanks to 2ez4techies, Pan for their valuable additions!

Thx! Yeah, new Zedative makes it very viable while solo

Now with the halloween update, the Zedative became much more useful. More for combat Medic.

By the way, good guide!

Of course it does. Healthrower is great for kiting scenario, where you need to apply all buffs ASAP.

Wonder if HRG Healthrower applies 10, 15 and 20 lvl left bonuses to the allies - hard to test solo...
SilverWF  [author] 26 Aug, 2020 @ 3:13am
Tested this and yes, you are right: left tree bonuses applies to us with: medic grenade, HMTeach-501 greande and Hemoclobber heavy strike healing cloud.
Wonder if the same stuff applies left bosuses to teammates and 25L healing cloud too...

Nvm, still R tree is better for solo play

Yeah it's all forms of healing from the medic, so Healing Darts, Symbiotic Health (self healing), Healing Grenades, and Airborne Agent. The description may say "shooting teammates with healing darts" but that's not accurate, in fact, a few other skill descriptions are somewhat false but not entirely.
SilverWF  [author] 26 Aug, 2020 @ 2:58am
Well, last I've heard, left tree applies to darts only (medic weapons alt.fire, which you can't shoot to yourself ofc), not to just healing...

> King Fleshpound: "Back away and shoot, avoid his beam behind corners."

You can crouch beneath its beam assuming the ground is flat or sloped in your favour.

Great guide nonetheless, I've only gotten back into the game after a one year hiatus and had no idea about the Incision Sniper Rifle. With Acidic Rounds it sounds pretty broken. I'll give it a go.

(Sorry for the double post, 1000 character limit for comments)

> "Left skills (excl lvl 5) are not affect us at all, so basically there is no choice ever."

Adrenaline Shot, Focus Injection, and Coagulant Booster actually do provide bonuses to yourself via the healing grenade. A single healing grenade can provide maximum speed, damage, and resistance bonus after four seconds of standing in your healing grenade, and you'll keep those bonuses for the duration of the healing grenade effect plus 5 more seconds.

Resilience and Coagulant Booster can be a massive life saver if you're extremely overwhelmed, with the potential of achieving up to 80% damage resistance.

Focus Injection can help take down a giant easier if you're carrying something strong, like a Boomstick or some kind of sniper rifle.
