Hiring multiple henchmen with mods
By Codecruncher17
Playing Neverwinter Nights gives me fond memories of Dungeon siege which I enjoyed for its fantasy world and large NPC battles. Neverwinter nights world is fleshed out with many combat encounters but the party system is a large flaw in my eyes due to a limit of one henchmen (Minus any summons) what with so many enemies to face. So after a few forum journey's, I have found a method to recruit as many of the henchmen (or hapless townsfolk and guardsmen) you heart could desire and wish to share such knowledge in this guide.

Required Mods
As stated in the title we will need some third-party help to achieve our goals.

First you will need to download
"Lilith: In-game explorer for single-player modules" by Wu
Can be downloaded here[neverwintervault.org]

Second you will need
"More than 1 henchman in OC (override)" by Unknown (Mod page does not state its creator but was submitted by demoix)
Can be download here[neverwintervault.org]
Installing Mods
Both of the mods used come with instructions so this is just to cover my bases.

Uncompress both mods and take either both or one at a time (Neither mod will override the other) and move them to C:\Users\Yourcomputer\Documents\Neverwinter Nights\override
*Note: There is a folder in the game directory named "ovr", this folder does not provide the same function and should not be used.
Using the mods in-game
For the sake of convenience I will be using a modified character to demonstrate the recruiting process in these screenshots, However this can be easily done with a new or imported character and the explanation will follow as if this is the case.

Starting with a new character the Lillith doll should automatically be in your inventory.

*If you are loading a save game with pre-existing character and wish to use this guide, the doll can be spawned with the console command "dm_spawnitem lillith" while in debug mode.

1.) Before we make use of the doll, first we want to open the console with the "`" key

2.) Then type "DebugMode 1". (Just as a warning ALL console commands in Neverwinter Nights are case sensitive)

*Any successful console command will flash green as such

3.) Next we want to type "dm_runscript abc", this will allow our party capacity to go past one.

These console commands normally only need to be entered once per save file but after chapter changes in modules you may need to repeat this step. Now that we are done with the console, debugmode can be turned off with the command "DebugMode 0".

4.) Now assuming you have previously gone through the dialogue options to hire the henchmen, you should now right click the lillith doll and select its "unique power" option to use on your henchmen of choice.

5.) Looking at the list of options you should select "Behavior"

6.) Next select "Henchmen functions"

7.) Now select "Add henchmen to party"

8.) Congrats! You now have two party members, However if you were to save and load your game now the second henchmen would disappear. To avert this we must use the lillith doll once again but this time select "creature properties", moving down the list select "Plot" and change it from "0" to "1". Now the henchmen will be retained through save games.

9.) Rinse and repeat.
*Note that if a third henchmen is recruited through dialogue, they will take the place of the most recently recruited henchmen. Simply use the doll method on the henchmen you lost and they will be added in with a third party slot.

Recruiting cannon fodder
If the actual henchmen bore or annoy you and you would rather send the aforementioned hapless city folk to fight your battles for you, that is also an option.

1.) Finding your target, select them and bring up the menu with the lillith doll.

2.) Navigate to the same henchmen menu used on the official henchmen but this time move down and select "Create functional henchmen from creature".

3.) A copy of that NPC will fade in next to the original, you can now recruit them just like official henchmen by adding them to your party through the menu. (It is possible to just directly add the original but I have found this to be quite buggy)

There are sadly, limits to recruiting nameless NPC's that I do not quite understand.

Most story NPC's cannot be recruited. Ex. If I were to try bringing along Lady Aribeth or any of the NPC's from the prologue, they will join the party but remain standing in place like their usual selves.

As such your best bet is to recruit NPC's that are used for background purposes. Examples can be seen like Nurses, guardsmen, and townsfolk in Neverwinter city or Farmers, adventurers, or guard dogs in port llast.
*Note that recruiting multiples of the same NPC class (Ex cloning two bowman from the same/identical NPC will most likely cause the second NPC created to disappear upon reloading your save)

Alternatively if an enemy fighter has caught you eye, you can in fact recruit them party using the this same method.
