Introduction
Markman is an inventor, and a huge fan of professional divekicking. While watching his favorite fighters throw down over the years, he has perfected a device that gives its holder more precise control over their kicks. And thus, the Kickbox was born. Markman is on a marketing quest, and wants to win this year’s competition using his Kickbox to show the world that they should buy his product.

Technique
Markman's special ability are very unique, and can easily be taken to advantage over the other player. As his ground ability, he takes random things out of his pocket, searching for his Kickbox parts. Below are the items he can use:

1. Spring- Players who land on it will bounce 1-2 times, giving time for their foe to finish them off.
2. Gas- Quickly drains the victim's kickfactor.
3. Glue- Sticks the player to the ground until they 'Divekick' out of it.
4. Oil- Slides the player around.
5. Black Hole- Players who enter it will fall downwards in the stage until they kick. (Really OP)

Then there is the kickbox, allowing the player to 'Upkick'. This can be extremely useful against characters like Jefailey or Kung Pao.
Also, in mid-air he can jump backwards. This is also helpful to be poised for giving your enemy a good kick in the face. (-:

His Diving is medium and his kicking is OK. He isn't fast like Mr. N or Dive/Kick, but he does the job right.

Another unique ability of Markman is a fast electric kick called the EWGF (Electric Wind God Foot). I forgot about this until Kuchiki Toko reminded me :D. This special kick happens at a specific time after diving. I'm still not used to the timing, but this minigame can be used for practicing.
Online
Markman is a rare character to see online; I wish we would encounter Markmans more often.
Although not many people find him, let's still spill the beans...

Be honest, everyone you find is probably Dr. Shoals. Maybe YOU'RE Dr. Shoals too! But if you're good with him, Markman is an anti-Shoals tank! With his Upkick ability, he is always prepared for a foot striking down to his head. Even though the Kickbox doesn't last too long, you can use his search ability in the spare time when the other player isn't charging towards you. You need the 3 parts of the Kickbox, so I'm sure you can find it if you are fast enough. Also, his Feint ability is helpful to make the player think that you are vulnerable for kicking (as tested by Kuchiki Toko, the current #1 Dr. Shoals player). You might still get kicked in the face, but that happens to everyone...

OK, that paragraph was only about Dr. Shoals. But other characters like Redacted or Uncle Sensei could probably be defeated with the same strategy. S-Kill will definately be a pain
(especially in the story) and The Baz will be very hard.

As we're here, I'm always up for a match on Divekick. Show me you're skills with him!

Thanks :D
Thanks for reading my guide! I hope this helped you!
I don't know if I'll make more guides in the future because Markman is the only character I play.
Comment and say what you think of Markman.
Also, I used information from the Divekick Wiki. Go check it out![divekick.wikia.com]

By the way, I found this amazing video on Youtube!:

Video made by Nnamz, not me.

27/07/14 - Woah, over a hundred views! I'm astonished!

05/08/15 - 250 views now, for a pretty bad guide I made ages ago. Fifty more and it'll have a cool three-hundred!

Woah, you really are the #1 Dr. Shoals player (I remember playing against you)!
I totally forgot about his EWGF! I'll add that in :spycon:.

Hi there, The Encryption!
Thanks for writing the guide, I'm sure many players will learn a lot.

I wanted to point out that you didn't explain Markman's Just Frame (fast electric kick), that's a big part of his kit and even though it feels random most of the time, going for it sometimes works! Here 's a video that shows a "training mode" for this kick.

To expand on your "Countering Dr. Shoals" section: Upkick isn't the only way to counter her, and, upon facing skilled Dr. Shoals players, it becomes a liability because of her air special. I'm #1 on Dr. Shoals leaderboards at the moment, and I'm decent at Markman, so I asked my friend to help me out in shooting a Markman vs Dr. Shoals session where I use Feint a lot. i believe Feint is a better tool against Shoals. Here's how I use it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZOz735OuLw

Once again, great work!
