Aalto Opera House

The Aalto Opera House (Aalto-Musiktheater) is a performing arts venue in Essen, Germany. Designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, it opened in 1988 after 5 years of construction. The style is considered "organic architecture" due to its curved forms and incorporation into the surrounding landscape.



All stats are taken from the vanilla opera house. However, the asset is set to Alway Unlocked, and terrain flattening has been turned off (see below for details).



Main: ~5000 tris, 1024x1024 textures (diffuse, specular, normal, illumination)
LOS: ~220 tris, 256x256 textures (diffuse, specular, normal)



Due to its original location on a shallow slope, the building will not flatten the terrain underneath. I've added staircases to the entrance and side terraces that are not part of the original design, but I highly recommend raising the terrain up the tiled floors, letting the slope decline to street level on the other side of the building. You can see the recommended solution in the screenshots above.

I also recommend the Prop & Tree anarchy and Move It mods to decorate the building to your liking.
