Overcoming HUGE LOSSES (lossing your capital)

Hi everyone
This game was on immortal difficulty where I lost my capital to Denmark a while back. How did that happen? He back stabbed me when my forces were somewhere else

Rather than quitting the game, I decided to continue playing. I ended up taking his capital. This guide is for never giving up
One note: I am using NQ mod (If you instal the mod as DLC you get achievements and please see other guides for how to install !)

Edit: we all have bad games and bad breaks I chose this specifically to never give up
NOTE: All the AIs got the bonuses from the NQ mod not just me so it is not really an exploit. Play with the NQ mod

I lost my capital and how to get it back

I used camel archers with full Honor NQ mod. This mod when you have full Honor gives you Science, Gold and culture for enemy defeated.

How to Catch up

The most important way to counter you loss to your capital are these 2 points:
-1) Population Loss. I recommend building hospitals or sending food to your capital
-2) Build Universities as soon as possible (if it was lost when you lost your city)
-3) Fill out Rationalism
-4) Scholastisism in Patronage skill tree also grants science if you are allied with city states. This is helpful because with honor you will have a lot of Gold and you can gift city states to be your ally.

I managed to win scientific victory on immortal despite losing my capital earlier so it is possible

Why Play with NQ mod!

-1) Finishing Honor Gives Science, Culture and Gold. Science for every enemy defeated max 30 per soldier.

-2) Capturing an enemy city who is technologically superior to you results in you getting a FREE technology! Therefore you can catch up

Well done. Hard not to lose motivation after something like that. I play on King and sometimes I just get declared on by two neighbors at once and there is no way I have the military supply to defend against both. And my general playstyle is to stay capped with military units throughout the game, especially early-mid. I may not run the highest score through mid-game, but I almost always have the highest military score. I am pretty peaceful, too. Try to maintain friendly relations with neighbors until I can capitalize and even then I am kind of hesitant, so I often wonder what the hell I did to get declared on by multiple AI civs.
