Well, development had stopped for a long time, but one member of the team has decided to work on India, so more updates in that region will hopefully follow!

Beginning of the End is a mod which adds in a 15th century start date (1400) to CK2, ending at the start of the 17th century. The mod aims to address major events such as the Renaissance, the Protestant Reformation, the "Discovery" of the New World, taking place at a turning point in Eurasian history. Here is a more comprehensive list of what the mod will aim to include:
- The Renaissance (currently included)
- Protestant Reformation (not yet included)
- New World (not yet included)
- Fall of Byzantium (or not, as may be the case)
- New formable titles, such as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Serbian Empire (restored), Ottoman Empire (empire-tier), successors to the Roman Empire and Republic, and the Kalmar Union. (some added)
- The Hussite Movement (not yet included)
- New government types appropriate for the era (most importantly, Constitutional Monarchy) (not yet included)

Development on this mod has largely come to a halt, but one member is still working on India. That said, the bookmark alone makes it worth playing! The attached world map shows all the provinces in red which can be selected from the character selection screen. The entirety of Europe is playable, along with much of Africa, the Near East and the Indian subcontinent. To go with this, some early Renaissance content is included. The mod is more developed now than in those dev diaries, but the vision for each area remains the same.
