First of all, hi there and thank you for visiting my article.

Recently I tried soloing with my IMP character in JA2 v1.12 on Novice level.
I have played v1.13 with all its cheats and tricks but I like to play PURE, if you know what I mean ;-)

So I did a few tries with the IMP test and changed my campaign route, starting quests in San Mona and take the Chitzina Sam site before I take Drassen.
On my attempts I started noticing the A.C.A. right locker in D5 to loot for Ruger 14 mini ever so often. That made me do even more trials and errors.
I restarted the campaign a number of times and tried all sorts of IMP builds and tried AIM soldiers to rush for that locker.

My conclusion after 6 hours of testing. The Ruger 14 Mini has a 100% spawn rate under these conditions, Knowing:

1. Campaign should be played at Novice.
2. Omerta A9 should not be cleared, rather escape the sector towards San Mona, even if an enemy sees you.
3. Locker should be opened without any game reloads in the campaign until there.
4. None of the recruits should carry any weapon beyond 10% progress. (Remember in V1.13 you could read progress: until 10%, Bobbys Rays will only give Pistols.) // 10% is reached after clearing at least 1 city or Sam site.
5. All recruits that entered Arulco should have less than 79 Marksmanship or carry no default weapon at all.*
*The trick only works with IMP if he has less than 79 Marksmanship and comes with the Berreta 93R, I had extreme good luck with Night ops/Lockpick builds.

From the AIM point of view, Danny and Docter Q will have a 100% loot chance because both are less than 79 Mark and have lesser than 10% weapons.
Other items that disqualify the 10% weapon progress: Knuckle Dusters, Glock 18, Silencer, C4/TNT, Knife, Stun Grenades, Metal Detector.
All other AIM members can be used to rush for the locker but should not bring their default equipment.

Choose Game Settings:

For less random outcomes:
1. Always use a name which you have not used before.
2. At the voice selection only cycle with the Next button, the Previous button is bugged in V1.12 and messes a lot with your outcome!
3. At the voice selection listen till the speaker has finished his talk, then press OK.

This should result in a character with Lockpicking and Night opts without any +10% weapon progress. (please check outcome before hopping on....)

Once you're dropped in A9, escape towards the west, even if an enemy sees you: Escape! The Queen should not yet have been trigged after you left A9. (I do believe this should let you stick in 5% progress*)

After A9, keep moving to San Mona D5.

Once you arrive in D5, you should head towards the A.C.A. building and fire the most right locker to receive your Ruger 14. Mini.

Remember if your IMP keeps Failing you can also use Doctor Q or Danny from AIM.
