"The certificate presented to you if you beat the game and put La Roach in Spy Jail. This is a printer scan of the printed out certificate, keep that in mind when printing this image out.

After the ending sequence the credits play and you are given 3 options: stop, restart, and award.
If you press award it brings you to a screen with a low quality copy of the award and the option to go back to the credits. Normally there is a print button, but it is disabled in the Steam release as the game is being emulated through ScummVM. ScummVM has printing functionality that is not enabled for the Steam release of Spy Fox 2. I went ahead and played through a CD copy of Spy Fox 2 to print this out and scan it back into digital to share with you. Here is how I did it:

1. Use Oracle VM Virtual Box to run a Virtual Machine. While modern windows has support for older programs and games it is tricky to get your desired program to run smoothly and correctly so a virtual machine was used instead. I chose to use Windows XP as I am familiar with it and it is 32-bit. Spy Fox 2 is an older game and was designed for older operating systems and is more compatible with a 32-bit OS than a 64-bit OS like Windows 10. I used Virtual Box because I have used it in the past and I know I can easily move files from my Host (Original, physical, and actual desktop) to the Guest (The Windows XP I am emulating). You will need to acquire your own copy of Windows XP or your desired OS on your own.

2. Acquired Spy Fox 2. If you own the actual game on disc you can put in a disc drive and tell Virtual Box to pick up on your disc drive if not acquire an ISO (disc image) from a friend who does own the physical game and move it to a USB Drive. Whenever I move a file from my system to the VM I use a USB drive as the medium because it is easier than setting up shared storage and/or networking for your VM. If using an ISO you will want to use WinCDEmu a program that emulates a disc drive. The point of using this program is to mount the ISO to the VM so alternatives are out there.

3. Play through Spy Fox 2. If you were like me you played the Steam release and saw the certificate and wanted it so you will have to play through it again. People using a physical disc may be able to import their saves, but it might just be easier to speedrun the game by pressing escape (ESC) to skip animations. Be careful not to skip too many animations near disabling the dog-bot as you can skip the prompt to travel to La Roach's secret lair. If you don't know about La Roach's secret lair you will want to look up a guide, youtube video, or wiki about the game to find out how.

4. Enable printing on Virtual Box. If you are following this guide to get your own authentic copy you should do this step before playing the game as it will be easier. I have an HP OfficeJet and I installed the Windows XP drivers for my specific printer onto the VM after moving them through my USB drive. Not all printers have XP support so it is important that you make sure of this before hand. If you're printer does not have XP support look into using Windows 7 or Vista opting to use the more expensive versions as they have more refined backwards compatibility options for running older programs (If you are running into this problem consult guides elsewhere on the internet). You may want to restart your VM after installing your printer drivers, but it is not required. You will want to connect your printer via USB. My printer has lots of random ports on the back and I was able to find a male-USB to male-whatever cable in my junk drawer.

5. Print out the award on the credits screen. You will now see a print button on the award screen upon finishing the game. It did take a while for the award to print for me, in-fact I had closed Spy Fox 2 and was attempting to restart my VM for the printer drivers, but I was also out of paper.

6. Write your name in the blank and pin it to the fridge! You did it you now have your own authentic Spy Fox 2 Award Certificate, you can also scan it into your computer if you want a digital copy.

Notes:

-This guide represents my experience in acquiring a print out from a Steam release of a HE game, other HE games have print outs and may not have printer support enabled for steam release. I cannot 100% guarantee this guide to work for every HE game or SCUMM game for that matter.

-There may be alternate ways to access this award as you could theoretically decompile/decrypt/decompress SCUMM/HE/.he9/etc. files/assets that are included with the steam release or to access the assets from the physical disc or disc image (ISO) of the game. I do not know if it would be a higher quality if you did it that way either. There are some legitimate paths that could be explored in terms of being able to take the assets from these games using programs available online that are compatible to various degrees with Spy Fox 2 and other HE games, but the effort and technical knowledge required to investigate these paths is far greater than the reward presented in wanting just the certificate presented here; that being said the assets of these games would be the reward for such efforts."
