Animated artwork and cover for Necrobarista
By vfakoudis
Pimp out your Steam Library by adding some animated art! This guide includes assets I've created for Necrobarista. You can also apply the same instructions to the rest of your library.

Getting started...
Welcome to my guide on pimping out your Steam Library!

After following the steps of this guide, you will hopefully have gained a pretty good understanding of the way Steam displays stuff on your Library, and will have the ability to manipulate it into displaying anything you want.

Here's a preview of what you can expect, if everything works...
Assets link
You can download my animated cover art, and artwork HERE[drive.google.com].
Make sure to save them locally on your PC, and remember their directory. It will come in useful later.

I created them using Radeon ReLive, and Photoshop.
How this works
Basically, you can easily set any PNG, or JPG file you want as an artwork.
However, as soon as you pick any other file type, like a GIF, or an MP4, an error message pops up, warning you to use the proper file types.

You can circumvent this by creating a ".gif" with the contents you prefer, and replacing the file extension with ".png".

The file is still read properly, despite the data corruption warning from Windows.
Actual instructions
  • Let's start off by replacing the super wide artwork on top of the game listing.

Select Necrobarista from your Library, and right-click the background, as displayed bellow, and select "Set Custom Artwork" .
If unclear, make sure to click on the images, to view the full resolution.

  • You will be asked to pick a file.

Locate the file "Necrobarista.png" you downloaded from my aforementioned link, and select to Open it.

  • Well done, you should now have a custom artwork set for your game! Let's continue by also switching the cover art.

  • Either go to your Favorites, if Necrobarista is placed in there (honestly, why shouldn't it be?), or click Home right bellow the steam menu bar.

  • After locating Necrobarista in this screen, right-click on its cover, navigate to "Manage" > "Set Custom Artwork"

  • Lastly, you will once again be asked to pick a file.

    Choose "NecrobaristaCover.png" from earlier.

  • After making sure this works, you can freely delete the files you downloaded, should you choose to do so.
They're no longer needed, since Steam keeps the actual file that the client uses in
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<SteamID>\config\grid" *
*Notice that this is the usual - default directory, folders might vary slightly depending on your system.
Wrapping up
This has been a small, silly guide, regarding mostly general knowledge.
I decided to write this here, since the game is new and worthy of notice, and I went through the trouble of creating a couple of decent GIFs.

For the rest of your library, you could try using SteamGridDB (not in any way endorsed, or affiliated). Only sharing because I just hope you share my love for tinkering.

Hopefully this has been helpful in one way or another.
Please post any feedback, comments, thoughts, or let me know of suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Thank you, kind stranger, for the award ♥

You're probably talking about this [www.steamgriddb.com] one?
Again, a quick google search can satisfy any need you may ever have. Cheers!

Hey there. Everything can be found in SteamGridDB [ www.steamgriddb.com ], apart from some Portal 2 and Persona 4 Golden stuff I created on my own, not fully showcased in the Guide. I'd be glad to send those over to you to you in a PM, if you're interested. Thanks for commenting!

Hey!
Love the guide, was wondering if you could also post the artwork and GIF's you used for the games shown at the start?
Thanks again!
