Beskrivning
Contains 1M stars from the gaia catalog, processed to work with SpaceEngine.
To see the full effect, it is suggested to turn off galaxies and procedural stars (in settings > filter).

This version is the version I recommend for all. It's a good balance between performance and stars.

Compatible with any other mods except GAIA catalog mods.

I don't think the Gaia telescope data contains the actual star classifications (probably for lack of some necessary data, but they do have Radius and Temperature?) and so they've been given the classification G*Ia because it resembles the word "Gaia". If you open the CSV you can confirm that all the stars look like this. I'm not sure why the number is randomized or if it even is, it may have some basis I'm not aware of.

The weird stellar distributions people are talking about are probably sampling bias, giant stars are much easier to spot at a distance and will be way over-represented in the actual dataset. Red dwarves are indeed more common, and the procedural generation reflects this, but observational data will be biased towards the brightest stars, those which we can see easily.

How did you manage to add an entire catalogue of stars to the program? I'd like to do that with Kepler Objects of Interests (KOI).

I agree with ZombieKiller96. Not only this version, but all the others too. I really wanna put this into my SE, but as far as I confirmed there are only Orange Supergiants in this catalog. Since the most common type of star in the universe is Red Dwarf (correct me if I'm wrong), I doubt this catalog could make my SE more realistic. Or is GAIA supposed to be showing Orange Supergiants mostly for some reason? I don't know...

I have only one issue: There seems to be only G-class Yellow giants in this pack. The previous pack I was subscribed to only contained K-class Orange giants. I wish there was more stellar variety in this mod.
