Tekijältä Peruvian Cocaine Farmer
This is a guide for anyone getting started playing combat surf. If you are also just generally new to surf, this will help a lot. In this guide I will explain how to start learning csurf (combat surf) maps, tips on how to get speed and a good routine to practice in order to get better.

Introduction
In order to start surfing you will need to, well, be able to surf. These are the simple rules of surf:

1. Never press W while surfing
2. You should leave spacebar pressed while surfing so if you hit land you can bhop
3. When on the right-side of a ramp, press A
4. When on the left-side of a ramp, press D
5. Look at where you wanna go. This helps with changing directions.

You will also want to be able to bhop. This might seem like a nuisance at first, but it is a necessity. To bhop, you need to hold W to start, then let go of W and strafe left and right. Strafing is an easy thing to get used to within an hour or so of practice. In order to strafe, you need to press D while looking right and press A while looking left.

Here's a simple example:

These are the first two things you need to master to be able to play combat surf well.

If you're looking for anywhere to practice combat surf, here are a few servers:

My Combat Surf server: 54.37.244.157:27027

styleZ tricksurf server (to practice surfing): 5.101.160.15:27015
Learning Combat Surf : Step 1
The first map I'd say you should be learning is any version of ski. In this case I will be teaching you a simple routine to learn on surf_ski_3_nova.

Firstly: You will start in your spawn area, either left or right. To start this routine you will want to surf down main ramp (shown in the first picture) and try and make it down to the "Mario Tower" or just tower.

Here is an example on how to get there:

Once you feel confident and you can do this repeatedly, you are ready to move onto the next step.

Learning Combat Surf : Step 2
Now that you feel comfortable with step 1, go up the tower (make sure you bhop or jump into it). You will arrive at the top of the tower with a view like this:

If you look to the left, you see a smaller tower (highlighted red here). You will now attempt to surf down banana ramp (the big ramp facing down the tower) and land on that tower. This tower is known as awp tower as it should have awps on it. To land on it, it is easier surfing on the right side for this step, you want to flick up off the ramp and guide your crosshair onto the tower. When you are right above the tower, press S to land. Here is an example:

When you feel comfortable with this step and you can land precisely, you are ready to move onto the next step.

Learning Combat Surf : Step 3
So now that you have these 2 basics, you are ready to learn your first "loop". Now what this is, is a way to get speed easily with no effort. When you are on the awp tower you should have a view like this:

You should surf down the first 2 ramps (going north from that view) and on the 3rd ramp flick up. When you are in the air, do 2 180° turns with your mouse, then land on the other side of the ramp. The procedure goes like this:

Learning Combat Surf : Stage 4
This is a kind of bonus stage I made because I remember finding it hard to get to "Mario Room" as it is called on surf_ski_2_go. On this version of surf_ski_3_nova there is a Mario room although it has nothing to do with Mario, in this case it's a buy-zone.

This is just a quick way that I learnt to get up there (I actually think the server I used to try to get there on might've had reduced air accelerate cause it's so easy to get there on my server):

Learning Combat Surf : Outcomes
So you have completed every stage? Nice! All you need to do is keep practising to improve. Remember to try other routes and not just stick with the one I showed on this guide. And you never know, someday you might even be able to surf like this guy:

Yeah, haha, I wished...

Anyways, that's all for this combat surf guide, thanks for following it and I wish you luck!
