Game mode Anthill
The game divides all participating players into two teams. Each team has a base camp and a side camp. Both camps hold Bases - a space travel node, a crucial part in establishing your side's munitions delivery routes throughout the galaxy. Only one force can sustain itself in any given sector, so the other one must leave. Which means their bases have to be blown up. You were eager to know what you fight for, right? Now on to the “blowing things up” part.

The map is divided into several zones, and to get to another zone you need to pass through the teleporter gates.

To get through the gate, you need to approach it and activate them by hitting F1 key.

How do you find your way across the combat area? Use your minimap on the bottom of the screen and also your large map that is shown when you press the TAB key.

The larger map shows game areas, teleports that go between them, teams’ bases and all ships and other moving objects in the game. Minimap is for showing you what’s in your current location. It can be used either as a map or as a radar (in which case it’s centered on your ship). Minimap modes are switched using the M key.

The ships you see are your allies and those enemy ships that were already found by them. Your team’s forces are shown in green, opponents are in red. Neutral objects - such as turrets - are in yellow.

Oh, yes, turrets!

In each zone you may discover defensive turrets, that open fire automatically if an enemy approaches. Zones that belong to one of the teams at the beginning of the game have turrets that protect the teleporter gates. All locations (including those already mentioned) can also have neutral turrets that can be captured to be used to your side’s advantage.

The combat shop, where you buy technologies for your ship and upgrade those you already have, is located at Base Camp, where you enter the game. The currency you spend at the shop is Experience, which you amass by destroying enemies and objects in the game. The amount of experience you have is shown in the upper-right corner of the shop screen and also on top of your minimap.

To enter the combat shop you need to fly inside the colored radius of the shop and press F1. You buy technologies by clicking with your right mouse button on the icon of the chosen upgrade.

To buy a technology, you not only need to have sufficient Experience, but also you ship has to be of a minimum required level for that technology.

So, you’ve got your upgrades and you’ve got your turrets - otherwise, you’re all alone against the enemy, right? No, this is only the beginning.

Your team’s camps are protected by a fleet of Defenders, which are huge Juggernaut-class ships.

These ships are controlled by their autopilots and do not communicate or interact with the players. But they are very well-equipped to do their job, which is protecting the base and allied ships at all costs. Every ship in this defence force does her own duty.

There are three classes of Defenders. Every Defender ship is equipped to attack foes with direct laser blasts - which rarely miss and never cease. But some of them also possess a potent AoE attack on all enemy ships that get too close to them. These Defenders are called Lane Support.

Other Defender ships use their electromagnetic fields to slowly but steadily repair any damage to those allied ships that move close to these support ships. Armor-restoring ships are called Welders, shield-restoring are named Rechargers. Welders and Recharges are generally located near each team’s camps.

Defender ships are connected to the defences of the base. Base's shields are weakened when there's nobody to protect it. This means that with every Defender ship destroyed the base starts to take more damage from every blast directed at her.

So your goal is to annihilate the enemy base while at the same time dealing with their defence force. Sounds simple? Not that much! You chose a very peculiar part of the inhabited space to wage war in.

Your space sector is full of alien cocoons.

Every xenobiologist in existence would be very eager to get ahold of one of them. For science, they are priceless research objects, a key to unlocking the mysteries of distant space. For you, they are a nuisance and cannon fodder.

Every cocoon conceals a swarm of Hornets - weird creatures that seem to have no mind of their own.

They are hostile to everyone but each other. Hornets are not toothless - they are capable of emitting laser beams no less powerful than those of the ships.

All cocoons lie dormant when you first enter the combat sector. You can wake up any other cocoon by shooting at it until the cocoon’s shield is destroyed. Once awoken, the cocoon sends Hornets to attack the base nearest to the cocoon's location.

How do Hornets behave once released? They fly to the nearest base and attack it. Nothing can make them leave their course. On their way to the bases Hornets attack everything they see except fellow Hornets and harmless asteroids.

Each team also has cocoons that were previously awakened and directed at the enemy. Hornets from these cocoons emerge from the Support Camp location that is beside team camps and fly towards the enemy camps. On their way they attack every enemy ship in sight.

Hornets and cocoons can be destroyed - obviously! - but there's a not-so-hidden catch. Destruction of the cocoons makes Hornets stronger. So it's always your choice - do you want to deal with plentiful, but weak aliens, ar do your prefer your space monsters great in strength but small in numbers?

How is this supposed to be played? Well, the most straightforward way would be to first earn some levels by shooting Hornets, and this process can be sped up by “waking up” some more cocoons. After you’ve bulked up just as you like it, you can move on to attacking enemy defence force and their bases. Alternatively, you can focus solely on cocoons - waking those who are close to the opponents’ base and destroying those that are closer to yours.
