After the daring escape from asylum Holmes and Watson are on a train (most likely, the Orient express) some young fellow comes to Holmes and wishes him to open a puzzle box. Holmes does it while Watson explains the importance of grey matter in finding answers to puzzles...

Then the boy gets called by his mother...

And we gain some insight on his family name as well...


So - in a fun way this game implies that Sherlock Holmes was the one who inspired a Belgian detective - Hercule Poirot, a famous detective in Agatha Christie's novels.

Just as a side note I find amusing, the Lupin story in which Lupin makes a fool of Holmes, was called, in English translation, "Sherlock Holmes Arrives Too Late" (1906). Sir Arthur Conan Doyle objected, so the title was changed to "Herlock Sholmes Arrives Too Late." :-)

undo420 caught the Clouseau reference, but in the same article is another awesome reference - this time not to a great detective, but a great thief - the bumbling French detectives in pursuit of jewels stolen by A.L. - the initials of Arsene Lupin, the great French gentleman thief!

You missed another great detective in the game. In the documents for the date 2/12/???? (can't remember year), you will see Inspector Clouseau hot on the trail of the Pink Panther.

There is no date logic to this, of course.

Red Scar may need a PhysX download. Put it in the execution folder. There are proper instructions and links elsewhere in the discussions/guides to the Frogwares Sherlock series on Steam.

that's awesome. I believe logically that he might have been that age at that time to be an adult in the '30s, when Christie wrote them.
Nice touch, game developers.

My problem is more serious if someone can help me I will be very grateful.
Simply the game does not start.
My Settings:

I just bought this game Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, Remastered....and again for the second time, the game dies right after they are on they're way to Switzerland....what the heck!!! I first bought this game thru Big Fish Games and now thru Steam and both times the same problem. Not sure what to do...any suggestions?
