What started out as a prototype turned into a Xenvakian Empire staple, with the Dreadnaught showing its age, this quickly overtook the outdated warship in combat capabilities. The Dreadnaught was an old design that wasn't updated for a time, and was quickly superseded by the Teridax. The Takanuva started as a kitbash between the Hiigaran battlecruiser, gifted to the Xenvaki as a sign of goodwill, and the Vagyr battlecruiser, of which one of them was captured after an unexpected skirmish. Being the most advanced faction, you're bound to have jealous idiots that want your tech for themselves.

The Xenvaki were no stranger to these words, as the Frontier Federation gave in to their greed once, and nearly pulled off a heist of another prototype. The Xenvakian Empire didn't take that sitting on their butts and dropped them. They won't forget that anytime soon. That's besides the point. The Vagyr were less intent on attacking the Xenvaki, but they were "triggered" by the kitbash of a Hiigaran and Vagyr battlecruiser, as they outright hated the Hiigarans for their possession of the second Hyperspace Core.
