Gunvolt: Tips and Tricks
By big chungus
Unlike Copen, who utilizes his EX Weapons and his amazing mobility to do his job, Gunvolt is still stuck on his good ol' jump 'n shoot gamestyle, However, Gunvolt has actually some neat yet obscure tricks that would help you a lot!

Introduction
Hello everyone! For today, I will detail things about Gunvolt that the game won't tell you; not even in the in-game guide! This includes both of Gunvolt's secret 0 SP skills, and some tips and tricks about Gunvolt that involves his weird interaction with his own skills!
Continuous Air-dashing
As Gunvolt, You actually can keep air-dashing forward without awkwardly stopping an air-dash, go a bit down, then start another air-dash!

Due to how it works, you'll need Directional Dash to be ON, and you'll have to use BOTH Directional Dash (dashing with d-pad) and regular Button Dash (dashing with the dash button)

When you jump, First, air-dash using your d-pad but keep holding the direction you dashed into!
Then, press the dash button WHILE STILL HOLDING THE D-PAD! You'll notice that Gunvolt will not awkwardly fall down when he does the later air-dashes!

(This tech can also be used in Gunvolt 1, It is not as useful in Gunvolt 2 as in Gunvolt 1, since in Gunvolt 1 this would help a LOT in speedrunning at the True End bit)
The Secret 0 SP Skills
Did you know that in Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, There are 2 secret 0 SP Skills hidden in the game that Gunvolt can obtain? Both of them require you to go out of your way in certain stages to whatever the place that the skills are hidden at, Both skills will not bank your kudos, will give you a special Kudos bonus if they kill a mook, and will give you the Skill bonus Kudos if it kills a boss.

Both Skills will instantly disable Copen's Prevasion temporarily when they land on him.

1. Crashbolt
Crashbolt is a 0 SP skill that summons a lightning bolt that strikes Gunvolt, hitting nearby enemies and any enemies above or below Gunvolt.
It'll help you a lot to deal a quick burst of damage without wasting a SP and time using a much more powerful skill on mooks!

Crashbolt can be found in Mysterious Manor, specifically on the second area!
When you reach the 2nd area's hexaphyle, Ignore it and wall jump over it, You'll notice that you can delve even further beyond in the stage, Keep going left until you eventually find some stairs, Keep going up and you'll end up finding a blue sphere and another hexaphyle, Touch the small, electric sphere and you'll obtain Crashbolt!

2. Dragonsphere
Dragonsphere is a 0 SP skill that creates an orb of electricity in front of GV that hovers in place for a few seconds, damaging foes on contact.

It's a pretty good filler move when you're fighting a stationary enemy with a big health, such as a boss! It'll deal damage over time at anyone close to it and will keep going forward until it eventually disappears, It's also a good move to shut up a mook from doing anything and stunlock them if you want to do that for some reasons?

Dragonsphere can be found in Data Facility, in the first area of the stage! (before you meet any hexaphyle)
Unlike Crashbolt, It is very well-hidden!

When you're on the bit where you have to use those platforms that go right when you use Flashfield, keep going until you meet one that go up instead, NOW PAY ATTENTION!
Go up with the platform until you see a passing on the right that will send you to the left side, Go there immediately!
THEN, DON'T BOARD THE PLATFORM ON THE LEFT, INSTEAD, STAY PUT AND USE FLASHFIELD WHILE NOT RIDING THE PLATFORM TO GET THE PLATFORM TO GO UP!
After you do that, Fall down and you'll find spikes below you, Don't panic! Just hold Flashfield and keep holding right, You'll end up going straight to a fake wall, This is where Dragonsphere is hidden!
Invincibility Frames (i-frames)
Whenever Gunvolt uses an offensive skill, he is invulnerable to any damage for the whole duration of him doing a skill (except Dragonsphere, where he is just invulnerable for the entire duration where he summons the sphere, and Voltaic Chains, where Gunvolt basically doesn't have much i-frames after he's done setting up the chains).

You can use the Skills in order to dodge enemy attacks by reflexively activating a skill right before you get hit to abuse the i-frames that GV obtains at the start-up of a skill!

You can also use Astrasphere if you want to use up a move with SP requirement, Don't use any other skill with a SP requirement if you want the i-frames to dodge an enemy attack!

The thing that makes Astrasphere great is that its i-frames last MUCH longer since Gunvolt has i-frames for the ENTIRE DURATION where he uses Astrasphere, which is insane!

You should normally use up one of the 0 SP Skills if you are going to use one to dodge a move before you get hit, Keep Astrasphere for emergencies where the 0 SP Skills' i-frames don't last long enough to dodge the enemy's entire attack!

Also, as a side note; Gunvolt can utilize Tenijian's ice stage's slippery floor by moving forward on ice, If he uses an offensive Skill while going forward on the ice, he'll keep his momentum going forward AND use the said Skill, allowing you to use a Skill on the run without pausing a bit to preform a skill! Pretty useful for when there's an enemy you're accidentally about to bump, because you can just activate a 0 SP Skill, dodge the enemy contact damage AND get the enemy off your face!
Post-Skill Extra Aerial Jump
Whenever GV's done using a Skill mid-air, there's a short period of time right after he's done doing the Skill (a few frames, if not a single frame) where if you press the jump button in time, Gunvolt will do a GROUNDED jump mid-air!

This means that if GV didn't equip anything that gives him a double jump, he can use up a skill mid-air and if you press the jump button in time, you'll do a second jump mid-air! Very handy and an important technique to know if you're going to speedrun/play a stage in Runner Mode!
Finale
I hope that this guide helps you in the game, and make your experience better when you try out the things i mentioned in this guide! Good luck zapping your foes!

Hey, Big Chungus! Big fan!

tbh the fact that a huge chunk of gunvolt's moveset is gated behind the SP system sucks hard, i'm just glad that the devs actually gave GV the 0 SP skills in the first place, hopefully his (seemingly) revamped gameplay in Gunvolt 3 isn't as heavily relying on his dumb 0 SPs band-aids as his Gunvolt 2 appearance lmao.

As someone who is still in the GV camp, I wish there were more 0SPs,
Along with them not murdering your Kudos, just finding the best moments to use them to cover up the tag's weaknesses made GVs gameplay on this game much more engaging than GV1's

Some of the stuff in here, to me at least, sees pretty basic and not really "secret" but for newer players to this type of game I do think this guide is very useful and really helpful.

Plus, you actually taught me something too, I wasn't aware of the free post-Skill extra jump. I did it once but I figured it was just a bug.
