It's a very opinionated designed. I won't say it's bad, but I also won't say it's for everyone. If you really want something like that, I can tell you how to make it work.
Short and simple: look into entities.assets files, every ship class entities(not section entity) have some events in every state(idel/moving/death) that created some sort of particale effects or sounds, what you want is adding a event inside idle state that plays "bell sound effect"(adding particale effect if you want, some sort of shockwave or anything), don't for get determine the time of this event. Also remember to add soundeffect and sound, check sound.asset and soundeffects.asset for some reference.
Long: I don't have time to make a modding tutorial due to RL stuffs, you will have to give me specific questions or I can't help you.
That's the limitation of Stellaris ship rendering. The result you are seeing is a compromise between 3 factors. It's hard to explain but those also are the reason why Paradox's official Imperial shipset black part looks like rock, and you can only change it's color for the emissive parts.
For some reason my Ships can`t display Black Colour, it always displays White Colour. (But not in the Empire Creation Box)
Is this a known issue?
Just curious
