Part I Siege of Carthago Nova
Optional strand: Assault on the enemy Citadel (reward: stat bonuses, troop/centurion/proconsul opinion bonus, 100 Denarii)
Bonus strand: assault on the unguarded wall section behind the shallow lake (requires high sword/shield skill and STR/CRD/Quickness/END etc, physical skills, to be selected to go on this sortie).

Part II
Baecula, Hispania (Battle of Baecula)

Optional strand: join the scouting party.(BEFORE THE BATTLE)
Bonus strand: in the scouting mission strand, there will be an awareness check, with high awareness, you will be able to participate in an extra fight.(BEFORE THE BATTLE). (reward: civic crown and cups if certain conditions are met).

Part IV
Illipa, Hispania
Optional strand: Attack on the last remaining defenders in the Carthiginian camp once their main battle lines break. (reward: general stat bonuses, no specific loot reward)


Part V Landing site near Utica, Africa.
Bonus strand: take part in the assault on a small town with a short palisade during the siege.
Bonus strand: duel the commander of the Carthiginian light infantry after the siege.
Duel with the barrel chested officer random event during camp.

Part VI Utica, Africa.
Bonus strand: scouting the surrounding country with Publius Arrius, you encounter a young Punic conscript, who you can either fight or scare off. If you kill him you will lose troop opinion points.
Bonus strand: if your rank is Centurio Posterior or higher, you will be selected to spy on the Numidian camp during negotiations, featuring AWA/CHA checks.
Bonus strand: after the attack is over, if your INT and AWA are high enough, you will notice some extraordinary enemies trying to escape in the darkness, upon inspection you find that they appear important. If you pass a CHA check you can convince your superior to capture them and take them in instead of kill them, it turns out one of them is a Carthiginian Senator (rewards: 5 points of proconsul and centurion opinion and 300 denarii)

Part VII Campi Magni, Africa.
Bonus strand: fighting 5 of Syphax’ veterans to save a wounded Velite (rewards: 5 cups and a potential civic crown, see civic crown II)
Bonus strand: dueling Hasdrubal’s Scutarii Chieftain (rewards: a cup and very strong equipment)
Bonus strand: your centurion will claim he arrived first on top of the wall, but you saw otherwise. You can testify against the centurion or remain silent. Testifying against your own Centurion requires high virtue, and if done, will give you 8 virtue points and 10 points of proconsul opinion, but you will lose 20 points of your centurion’s opinion due to your action. However, your proconsul will be moved by your action, and will move you to the maniple of the centurion you testified for, which will grant 30 points of centurion opinion (effectively 10). So it is wise to testify against your own centurion, as treacherous as that is.
Bonus strand: random encounter with a unit of Libyan Spearmen, their commander, the barrel chested officer, can be fought and dispatched for a reward of a cup and equipment.

Part VIII Zama, Africa

Bonus strand: you can dash into the fight when your maniple gets called forward instead of waiting until your whole maniple gets ordered to join the fighting. You will have to fight some Carthiginian levies after passing a CRD check that will determine whether your posture bar will be full when you join or not.
Bonus strand: after defeating the decayed battle line of levies, they will fall back and the last Carthiginian line will remain, which consist of Hannibal’s veterans. You will be prompted to either obey the orders of the commanders conducting your maniple to another location of the battle line (choosing this can increase your mental abilities and you will be positioned to fight Hannibal’s Bruttian allies) or you can choose to collect a few legionaries and remain in your position in the center, either way you will get one shot at increasing your mental abilities. But if you obey the orders of the officers, you get two rolls at upgrading your mental tributes. Choosing to remain in the center will have you fight Hannibal’s veterans, who are very strong and tough opponents. You will also fight them very briefly even if you obey the orders of the officers directing you to the flank, but over there most of your enemies will be weaker Bruttian mercenaries.


Part IX Ottolobus, near the Macedonian border
Bonus strand: participate in the skirmishing near the glade, after giving the order for the legionaries to close ranks when the Macedonian cavalry attacks your men while they are foraging (requires rank of Centurio Posterior).
Bonus strand: choose to go through the wooded path while making your way back to the legions. You will encounter 2 Macedonian Peltasts on the way back (rewards: two cups and a potential civic crown, see civic thrown III).

Part X Aous River
Bonus strand: participate in the chase of the Macedonian scouts. (Rewards: 1 cup)
Bonus strand: Challenge the Bulwark after the battle near the Aous river.

Part XI Cynoscephalae, Thessalia
Bonus strand: challenge the Chiliarch of the Agema Peltasts to a duel. (Rewards: a cup) see: Chiliarch of the Agema Peltasts achievement

Veteran
Simply survive the entirety of one game.


Wrestler
At some point after arriving in Sicily, Epidius will challenge people to wrestling matches. You can rise to his challenge and attempt to defeat him. There are 3 ways you can defeat him;
Standard Grip (STR Based, you need over 75 STR to have a realistic chance of beating him in this)
Try to push him out immediately (Quickness and CRD based, you need over 75 in both respectively)
Try to wear him out with your speed (Quickness and Endurance based, you need 75 atleast in both, some INT is also helpful)
The wrestling match is based on points. The first to attain 3 points (win 3 times) will win the match. Remember to not try the same tactic twice in a row.

Fleet-Footed
In Africa, Gaius Antius, a famous Veles, will die and his helmet along with some other loot will be put as rewards for a foot race. Participate in this 3 lap foot race while having atleast 70 Quickness and Endurance, choose “maintain a steady pace” in the first lap, “save your breath” in the 2nd lap and “sprint” at the 3rd lap and you should win the race and be awarded all the loot, including a very high quality Celtic helmet, and earn the achievement.

Sharpshooter
Participate in the Javelin contest in Africa and win it. You need atleast 65 throwing skill.


Human Siege Engine
You need two Mural Crowns for this achievement. Mural Crowns are given to the first man over the wall during a siege.
There are 4 sieges during the game (3 applicable to this achievement).
This achievement can be difficult if you do not have high offensive (sword) capability, quickness and coordination and defence to boot. You have to choose the “go for the Mural crown yourself” option during a siege. If your CHA is high enough and you have the rank of Centurio Prior, your legionaries will aid you in achieving the crown. You can either choose to “climb at breakneck speed” which has a higher risk of you sustaining an injury if your defence is not high enough but I guess gives you more time to be the first man on the wall, or choose “climb carefully” which is safer and less likely to have you wounded by the defenders while climbing the ladders, both of these options also have a check on whether they succeed (you get more time to deal with the defenders) or fail (you get less time). Once at the top, you have to fight many enemy defenders on the wall from a precarious disposition, your stance bar will be extremely hampered by this. But to compromise, the defenders are often militiamen with low stats. You need to have high sword skill to be able to dispatch the defenders as fast as possible (before ~30sh turns) to have a realistic chance at earning the Mural crown.
I’ve succeeded in earning the Mural Crown several times by dispatching all defenders before 30 turns. . Although in the final (and hardest) siege in the game, I managed to take it by dispatching the defenders by the 38th turn.
Sieges In the game in which you can earn a mural crown:

• Part VII, Campi Magni, siege of an unnamed Carthaginian city.
  
• Part IX, Ottolobus, Near the Macedonian border; Siege of Pelion.
  
• Part X, Aous River, siege of Phaloria.

On Olympus
This achievement is actually somewhat hard since it means you need to have a very high stat super legionary who is a killing machine that can dispatch enemies quickly and easily and survive many engagements.
There are some key things you should shoot for to get the highest score possible;

• At least 2 of the 3 civic crowns
  
• Kill every special enemy in the game (especially the Chiliarch of the Agema Peltasts and the Bulwark)
  
• Obtain the grass crown (it has a huge score boost I believe, it definitely should, not to mention the requirements to getting it mean you will have to kill tons of enemies, who will boost your endgame score)
  
• Achieve the highest possible rank in the game (Centurio Prior)
  
• Obtain other rewards and decorations for exceptional performance (Silver/Golden Armilla, earnt for defeating many enemies during pitched battles. Mural crowns for being the first man over the wall during a siege, etc).
  
• Participate in optional fighting (the assault on the citadel in Carthago Nova, the final attack on the Punic camp in Illipa, reinforce the battle line during Zama, etc)

If you push yourself very hard and do everything and kill every unique encounter enemy, you can barely break 11,000 score points. This is generally one of the harder achievements.

Hoarder
This achievement is not particularly hard. Just opt in for bonus fighting during sieges (such as the assault on the citadel at Carthago Nova) and you will earn bonus loot/rewards. Try to get promoted to high ranks as quick as possible for salary increases, and sell armor/equipment you loot. Another decent source of lots of money is the grand contests held by the consul during the Macedonian campaign (javelin contests and foot race contest). Winning 1st place on any of those grants 1,000 denarii. Discovering and capturing the Carthiginian Senator after the night attack on Syphax’ camp in Utica, Africa (requires an INT/Awareness check AND a Charisma check) will net 300 Denarii. A low-virtue playthrough can also net lots of Denarii (you can take bribes from villagers while foraging, also you can illicitly pocket some jewels and loot during some random events or battles). Although this is all not necessary. An average playthrough you will easily accumulate 5,000 Denarii. While tryharding you can even break +11,000 Denarii.

Sparring Partner
During the campaigns in Africa, while you are at camp, a random event will trigger where Lucius Junius, a standard bearer and one of the most skilled swordsmen in the legion, challenges people to duel with him. He splendidly defeats two legionaries during a two-versus-one duel, and asks if anyone Is willing to rise to the challenge. You can opt to challenge him to a duel. From there, you can choose to either go on the offensive or the defensive while dueling with him, personally I use Natural Swordsman buff for my legionary to have extremely powerful sword capability, and by the time of the battle of Campi Magni in north Africa, it’s very easy to have already accumulated 80+ sword skill. If you have even more than ~77 sword skill, it’s fine. Just choose to go on the offensive (or defensive if your shield skill is higher than your sword skill) and a check will occur that decides whether you win or not. If you win the duel, you will obtain the achievement, 5 Denarii and 5 troop opinion.
I am not sure if this event has a specific trigger or timing, I’ve seen it happen after the battle at Campi Magni, and also at Sicily before you even disembark for Africa.

Master Spy
You have to be elected centurion before arriving in Utica, North Africa (After the engagement with the Carthaginian light infantry and the troop of Libyan spearmen that is routed by your cavalry), and meeting syphax there.
if your rank is Centurio Posterior at this point of the campaign, you will be selected along with several other centurions in your army to disguise as plainclothes servants and attend a diplomatic meeting in Syphax' camp. There, you have two options; keep a low profile, or "wander about". To acquire the most information about the camp (and thus, the achievement) you have to select the "Wander about" strand and pass an Awareness and Charisma check. If both are high enough, you will be able to move around the Numidian camp and collect alot of vital information, earning you the achievement and 5 points of respect from the Proconsul.

World class swordsman/shield master
Get Aegis Embodiment and Natural Swordsman during character creation, combined with high physical stats (STR, CON, END, QCK, CRD, etc) and just keep training nonstop. Don’t train anything else other than group sparring with the slider in the middle. Only stop to relax and get rid of stress and recuperate your morale (if your morale is full, don’t relax, just go back to training). You can easily have 90 in both by the time you first arrive in Macedonia. At some point there, if you distinguish yourself and have high reputation with the consul, he will summon a tutor to train you while at camp. You can choose lessons in swordsmanship, shield and defence, javelin throwing or a little bit of everything. Choose one of them and you will gain 3 points (4 points if you choose lessons in a field that you have the special mastery for unlocked from character creation, for example if you have aegis embodiment and choose lessons in shield, you will get 4 points, but if you don’t have Aegis Embodiment, you will get only 3 points).
Dispatch a lot of enemies in combat to distinguish yourself, as well. Dispatching many enemies will grant you bonus experience and bonus points to attack/defence in addition to the base rewards you earn for surviving battles.



Grass Crown

This is one of the hardest combat achievements in the game, and is only possible in the final battle of the game at Cynoscephalae.

To put it shortly, to be awarded the grass crown, the highest honour a Roman could have on the battlefield, for actions that save the outcome of a battle, you have to breakthrough the Macedonian Phalanx not once, but twice, and once you break through you must kill four enemies. This will create a gap in the Macedonian line. If you pass an INT check and have the rank of Centurion, you will be able to order troops to flood through this gap you created on the 2nd time you break into the phalanx. Afterwards, a difficult fight with several Thracian warriors and their chieftain will begin, if you dispatch these Thracians within 60 turns, you will be awarded the grass crown once the battle ends.

Triumph
Finish the game.


Pristine Triumph
Don’t spend any points on your soldier, just keep rolling until you get a soldier with high physical stats and play through the game and survive. It’s not very hard and easily doable.

As skilled as an average professional
This is one of the easiest and most basic achievements in this game. You start with 36 points of sword & shield skill. By the time you are in Africa, you should easily exceeded 50 points in both. Just do sparring or solo-training. Remember to upgrade to a higher level of group sparring once your troop opinion is high enough.

Distinguished/Prominent/Hero
Armillas are decorations for your valor in pitched battles. There are 3 types; bronze Armilla (requirement of this achievement), silver Armilla and gold Armilla. Dispatching atleast 3 enemies in a pitched battle can be enough to earn you an Armilla. This is overall a very easy achievement you will get just by playing the game.
The Silver Armilla is not much harder, just kill ~6 enemies in a pitched battle, and you will earn it and acquire the “Prominent” Achievement.
The Gold Armilla is the hardest of them all, yet is not that hard. You need to dispatch upwards of ~8 foes in a pitched battle. Which requires your legionary to be very powerful. It’s possible to earn this with a completely un-upgraded Legionary, but it will be difficult. With an upgraded legionary with points spent on stats this becomes a rather easy achievement.

Full Podium
Not a difficult achievement, but will require a strong legionary with high physical stats and preferably mast swordsman/aegis embodiment. Simply distinguish yourself on the battlefield enough to earn Armillas by killing as much enemies as possible during conventional battles. Earn a bronze, silver and gold Armilla through a single playthrough and you will unlock this achievement.



Tesserarius
Promotions are earnt by battlefield distinction. Tesserarius is a lookout officer, the lowest rank you can obtain in this game. It’s very easy to get promoted to this post during your tenure in Hispania. If you kill ~5 foes in Carthago Nova, you can be promoted to Tesserarius right there and then.

Optio
The second rank you can attain after Tesserarius. An Optio is a Centurion’s assistant who could fill many roles. You can reach Optio quite early in the game if you have a strong legionary and dispatch many enemies in Baecula. If you do so, a few additional paths in regards to managing your maniple will be unlocked (such as the random event with the manoeuvre exercises where you can cut in and assist your centurion).

Centurio Posterior
The Centurio Posterior is the junior centurion of a maniple. This rank can also be attained in your first campaign in Hispania. Like all promotions before, you simply need to keep distinguishing yourself in the battlefield and dispatching many enemies to earn more reputation and decorations. Earning the civic crown in Hispania greatly aids you in doing this. Promotions also unlock few dilemma options during some of the game’s encounters (such as the encounter with the Numidian cavalryman during the battle of Illipa).

Centurio Prior
The senior centurion in command of an entire maniple. I have never achieved this before arriving in Africa, and sometimes even Macedonia. It is a difficult rank to achieve and is gated by availability (you can distinguish yourself many times for this promotion, and can be eligible for it, but you will often not get it because there are no shortages and there is no availability for promotion). Playing a low-virtue campaign can allow you to attempt to clandestinely “remove” (assassinate) senior centurions so you will be able to take their place, although this is risky and can lead to your death.

Primus Centurio
The first centurion of an entire legion. This cannot be obtained in the game, it can only be obtained if you survive the entire game and return to Rome in a triumph. You will be drafted and be sent to Asia Minor to fight in the Seleucid war against Antiochus III, I believe there is a weapons/defence check that depends on whether you will get the promotion or not, but if you are actually Centurio Prior at this point, then you will certainly get the promotion to Primus Centurio. It happens automatically and you don’t need to do anything (Except be Centurio Prior once the game ends).

Sceptic
I don’t know how much INT you need exactly for this, but I’ll wager it’s more than 55. Just go to the bottom tab while at camp, and do a ritual sacrifice to the gods (costs 20 Denarii), if your legionary has high INT, he will doubt the usefulness of the process and gain little moral, and you will earn the achievement. If your legionary has low INT, he will not have any second-thoughts regarding the ramifications of the sacrifice, and he will earn a huge morale boost.

Ulysses
After the foraging ambush incident at Ottolobus, near the Macedonian border, and after the siege of Pelion, contests will be held at the army with rewards ranging from 1,000 denarii for first place. You can either join the Javelin throwing contest based on distance, Javelin throwing contest based on accuracy and the 3 lap foot race contest. For the Ulysses achievement, you have to join the 3 lap foot contest. It is recommended that you have atleast 80 quickness and 80 Endurance to have a realistic chance to winning this. The way I won It was maintaining a steady pace on the first lap, saving breath on the 2nnd lap and sprinting on the 3rd lap. Winning this race will grant you the achievement, 1,000 denarii (useful for the hoarder achievement), a huge morale boost, 8 points of troop opinion, 6 points of tribune/centurion opinion and 4 points of consul’s opinion.

Agamemnon
This one may appear hard, but it is infact a lot easier than what it appears. I managed to do this in a playthrough where I had a killing machine of a legionary with over 10k points to spend on him and a very high physical stats roll plus Aegis embodiment and Natural Swordsman. I ignored Javelin entirely up until halfway through my African campaign, when my soldier stopped gaining anymore stats from Sparring (best), I immediately started training only Javelin, with little regard for moral penalty. I had 80 STR and 79 CRD for reference. I reached 86 Javelin right before the contest started. I enrolled in the Javelin-Throwing contest based on precision and won.
I heard some people saying your Javelin skill doesn’t develop beyond your CRD, this makes me believe it’s wrong.
Overall for this, just train a lot of Javelin until you have over 85 atleast. Javelin throwing can also be quite helpful in combat as it can bulls-eye soldiers, damaging them so much to the point of killing them in a single throw. It can also break shields of enemy soldiers, which essentially makes them as good as dead.

Mars’ Favourite
while encamped at Cynoscephalae, right before the battle starts, your unit will be assigned as the vanguard. The Macedonian vanguard will be the Agema Peltasts, a very elite formation. If you are a Centurio Prior at this point, you will be able to challenge the Chiliarch (commander) of the enemy Peltasts into single combat and earn a cup as well as an achievement if you defeat him, though beware, this is the strongest and toughest foe in the entire game, and will also lunge his Javelin at you before the fight starts, which has a chance at injuring you before the duel even starts if your defence is too low. It is recommended to have at least 80/80 Attack and Defence to win this duel.

Giant Killer
At some point between arriving at Ottolubus, Near the Macedonian border and while you are encamped at the Aous river, a random event will trigger where a formation of Thracian Auxiliaries will be encountered by your troops. Their leader, the Bulwark, will challenge anyone to duel him. Agree to duel him, but beware that he is very strong and you will need over 80 Attack/Defence to have a realistic chance of defeating him. He is also heavily armoured. I recommend wearing him out, as he gets exhausted very quickly. Killing him will grant good armour and a single cup.

♥♥♥♥ Novus
Earn atleast one Civic crown and survive the game to it’s very end and have high Charisma (Thanks to: ObsidianIchor). You will be admitted to senatorial ranks as a “new man” (♥♥♥♥ Novus) thanks to a combination of having a crown and charisma to boot.


Consulship

• Have 85 INT & CHA
  
• Win a single Civic Crown
  
• Complete the entire game

This one kinda needs it’s own playthrough.
You need a soldier with high mental stats, so keep rolling until you get someone with atleast 65 in either INT or CHA, then spend a lot of points into both to push them up to 79/79 minimum. Combine it with good physical stats and expert swordsman so your soldier will be strong and have a high chance of survival. The cutoff for becoming a consul is infact 85 INT & CHA, but through random events in-game (such as redirecting your formation during the battle of Zama and then giving the troops a motivational speech, and also successfully completing foraging missions) will grant you several points of INT/CHA/AWA, so you will reach that 85/85 threshold. But if you want to be absolutely safe, you can spend points until your soldier reaches the threshold.
You need to win a single civic crown (two good chances at Campi Magni and Macedonia) and then simply survive the game. Once you arrive back in Rome you will be admitted to Senatorial ranks as a Novus ♥♥♥♥, and later on after the campaign at Asia Minor (Seleucid war with Antiochus III) you will be promoted to Centurio Primus if your physical stats are high enough. Once you arrive back in Rome, you will pass the INT/CHA check and become involved in politics and be elected a consul for a single year. This will grant you the achievement.

This one is a bit tricky and annoying because quite a bit of these enemies here may not appear during your playthrough. Their appearance is determined by RNG random events. Which may or may not happen. Beware that I also wrote down where/when I encountered most of these single duel events. They may appear for you at different times/areas due to RNG.

• During the attack on the Carthaginian and Celtiberian camps chronicle (after the battle of Baecula). Before the battle you will be presented with a chance to volunteer to scout out the enemy camp. During the return journey you will have to pass an awareness check that requires rather high awareness (60 minimum), then you will have three prompts; ignore the sounds you heard, run towards the sounds, explain to your comrades and convince them to come with you. Choose the option that has you sprint towards the sounds. You will find another one of your scouting parties has been attacked by Carthaginian soldiers. Only one legionary is alive and he's fighting 3 enemy soldiers, once you are there you will be prompted to either aid the soldier immediately or wait for your comrades to arrive before engaging, choose the former option and dispatch the enemy soldiers with the help of the legionary you found. This will grant you 2 cups. (see also: Ob Civem Servatum I)
  
  
• During the battle of Illipa, before the pitched battle starts, your maniple will be marching to the battlefield. Some Numidian horsemen will intercept your maniple. The options depend on your rank, but if your rank is high enough (Optio and upwards) you will be able to order a part of the maniple to redirect itself protect themselves from the Numidian’s javelins. However, this is not what you want, nor it is what matters. You want to choose the option In which you run out of the formation to meet him alone. I had 71 weapon at this point and I selected “use your Javelin like a spear” and managed to kill the Numidian (which is allegedly very hard to do, and a difficult check overall). Killing the man will grant you large bonuses to troop opinion, Centurion opinion, 7 morale points and a cup.
  
  
• During the battle of Illipa, after the pitched battle with the Carthiginian allies on Hasdrubal’s flank, your maniple will be moving back to camp through a thick fog. If you are Optio at this point, an optional strand will unlock. Some legionaries will start straying from formation during the thick fog, you have an option to let them go or go after them and bring them back, choose the latter. Ironically here you need to have low awareness check. If your Awareness is high enough, you will safely lead the men back to the main formation, if you don’t, you will continue walking in the thick fog until you encounter an Iberian Scutarius, you can choose to leave him alone or fight him, choose the latter but be aware he will have higher ground than you and he is slightly more stronger than the rest of the Scutarii. If you manage to kill him, you will be granted a cup.
  
  
• After landing in North Africa, during the 2nd campaign, after sieging the first small town (landing site near Utica) your detachment will come under attack by Carthiginian Light Infantry. During the attack, you will be prompted to be either stay in the ranks to defend from the attack, challenge the enemy’s leader, and a third option to order the troops to close ranks and prepare for the attacks (this option requires you to be the rank of a Centurion Posterior). Choose the 2nd option to challenge the enemy’s commander. You will first have to engage two enemy light infantrymen and dispatch them before engaging the commander of the enemy. Recommended stats: 65 Shield/65 Sword.(You are able to throw your javelin at both the two soldiers and the commander, so don’t hesitate). This will grant you 3 cups.
  
  
• After the attack on Syphax’ camps at night, you will be sent on the usual foraging mission on the countryside. In one of the villages you search, you might chance to meet Himilco. The owner of a wealthy estate and an old veteran from the 1st Punic War. You notice he also has very good equipment. You will be prompted with 3 options to choose how to deal with Himilco, who challenges you to a duel; 1. You can accept the duel and face him one-on-one, 2. You can order your party to swarm him and kill him. 3. You can retreat. Choose the 1st option to duel Himilco, kill him and acquire a cup, loot his mansion and loot his gear (which is very good), but do note that he is an extremely strong opponent and you should have a minimum of 75 Shield/75 Sword to stand a decent chance against him. I recommend playing very defensively and cautiously, and wearing him out until he is exhausted (past the first green stamina meter) before going on the offensive, this is generally the best strategy to deal with tough opponents; exhaust them before attacking them (let him attack and miss, then stab his arm or leg to damage his stamina, then go on the defensive until another opportunity arises, capitalize on his mistakes)
  
  
• At Campi Magni, after burning Syphax’ Camps at night, your army will be ready to engage the remnants of the combined armies of Hasdrubal Gisco and Syphax. During a standoff, 3 of your velites will come under attack by Syphax’ veterans. You will be prompted to either stay in your ranks or run to help the 3 velites (one of whom is wounded), choose the latter. You have to dispatch all 5 of Syphax’ veterans, which can be difficult if you do not posses high enough stats (atleast 65/65 sword and shield). Though they are unarmored atleast. Dispatching all 5 grants 5 cups, but if you dispatch 2 Numidians before ~12 turns, you will also earn a Civic Crown (see: Ob Civem Servatum II)
  
  
• After the attack on Syphax’ camps at night, while encamped at Campi Magni, a random event may trigger where your maniple encounters a formation of Libyan spearmen on patrol. You will have several prompts depending on your rank; give them a wide berth, issue a challenge to their leader, order your troops to attack while you remain at the reserve or order your troops to attack and join them. Choose the second and dispatch the officer for a cup.
  
  
• After you arrive in Campi Magni, and after the incident with Syphax’ Veterans attacking 3 of your Velites. Your maniple will meet a portion of Hasdrubal’s 4,000 Celtiberian mercenaries during a skirmish. A standoff will ensue, and the enemy chieftain will emerge and start taunting your troops. You can either ignore him, or come out and challenge him to a duel, choose the latter but beware that he will hurl his javelin at you before the fighting starts, which can chunk your health if your defence is not high enough. dispatch the chieftain for a hefty reward of equipment and a cup. It is recommended to have atleast 70 Shield/75 Sword for this fight. The Chieftain has high offensive capability, but his ability to defend is somewhat lacking, though he is heavily armored.
  
  
• After the battle at Campi Magni (where your maniple engages the 4,000 Celtiberian Scutarii), during the camp phase, your maniple will encounter a unit of Libyan Heavy Spearmen on patrol. Their commander, a Barrel-Chested Leader wielding an axe, will taunt you to a fight. You can either ignore his taunts or agree to a duel. Choose the latter and dispatch him for a cup. The officer has no shield, but he has very powerful offensive capability with the axe he wields, in addition to being very well armoured and having high Constitution. It is recommended to have atleast 75 shield/80 sword to fight him with a decent chance of success. Kill the Barrel Chested Officer for a cup, but beware once again, he is one of the strongest foes in the game. Up there with the Chiliarch of the Agema Peltasts and Himilco.

• at Ottolubus near the Macedonian border, before the battle of the Aous and a short time after landing in Greece, you and your troops will be sent to scavenge and forage from a wheat field for supplies, you and your troops will be attacked by Macedonian cavalry. Thereupon you have no choice but to either order your men to close ranks (if your rank is high enough) or run to the woods. Choosing either choice will lead ultimately to one conclusion; you will have to choose to either take a path through the marshlands or a path through a forest to get back to your army. Choose the forest path, and two elite Macedonian peltasts (difficult enemies if you don't have atleast 80/80 Sword & Shield skill), killing each Peltast grants a cup. Be wary that one Peltast will be busy finishing off your comrade, and if you are too late in killing the 1st, he will join you and it becomes 2v1 (See also: Ob Civem Servatum III)
  
  
• At some point between arriving at Ottolubus, Near the Macedonian border and while you are encamped at the Aous river, a random event will trigger where a formation of Thracian Auxiliaries will be encountered by your troops. Their leader, the Bulwark, will challenge anyone to duel him. Agree to duel him, but beware that he is very strong and you will need over 80 Attack/Defence to have a realistic change of defeating him. He is also heavily armoured. I recommend wearing him out, as he gets exhausted very quickly. Killing him will grant good armour and a single cup.
  
  
• After engaging the Macedonian Phalanx in the battle of the Aous, your maniple will be ordered to take a secret path behind the Macedonians and attack their rear during night. Some Macedonians will be posted along the route. An awareness check will determine whether or not you will be the first man to notice these Macedonian soldiers, elsewise other legionaries will raise the alarm. Then, you can opt to either wait or chase the Macedonians (choose chase), then a Quickness/Coordination check will take place, passing it you will catch them early enough along with one legionary to help you. Killing them grants one cup.
  
  
• while encamped at Cynoscephalae, right before the battle starts, your unit will be assigned as the vanguard. The Macedonian vanguard will be the Agema Peltasts, a very elite formation. If you are a Centurio Primo at this point, you will be able to challenge the Chiliarch (commander) of the enemy Peltasts into single combat and earn a cup as well as an achievement if you defeat him, though beware, this is the strongest and toughest foe in the entire game, and will also lunge his Javelin at you before the fight starts, which has a chance at injuring you before the duel even starts if your defence is too low. It is recommended to have at least 80/80 Attack and Defence to win this duel. (See: Mars’ Favourite)

Ob Civem Servatum I
During the attack on the Carthaginian and Celtiberian camps after the battle of Baecula, you will be presented with a chance to scout the Carthaginian camp. Opt in as a scout. Once you are finished scouting the enemy camp, your scouting party will be heading back to your camp. At that point, you have to pass an awareness check with rather high requirement (minimum 60 awareness after helmet penalty for a small chance of success). If you pass the check, you will hear distant fighting sounds. You will have 3 options to choose from; explain to your friends that they need to follow you before running towards the sounds; run towards the sound without explaining; ignore the sounds. Choose the 2nd option. Then, you will have to pass a quickness/coordination/endurance check in order to make it fast enough. If you arrive in time, you will find 2 dead legionaries and a single living legionary fighting against 3 Carthaginian soldiers. You will be prompted to choose whether to wait for the rest of your scouting party to arrive before joining the fray, or immediately jumping into the fight to help the beleaguered legionary; choose the latter (1st option on the list). There, you have to fight very hard and dispatch all 3 Carthaginian soldiers BEFORE they kill your compatriot. If you succeed in doing this, the legionary you saved will testify in your favour back in camp, granting you a civic crown.

Ob Civem Servatum II
After you arrive in Campi Magni (after attacking Syphax’ camps at night and burning them), your army will engage Hasdrubal’s freshly drafted army, consisting of 4,000 Celtiberian mercenaries. Before the battle is joined, skirmishes occur, and 3 of your Velites will be set upon by 5 of Syphax’ veterans, one Veles is wounded and the two others are defending him desperately. You notice this while you are in the ranks, and will be prompted to either ignore them or hurry to their rescue; choose the latter. You will have to fight 3 of Syphax’ Veterans simultaneously, and have to kill atleast two of them as fast as possible (under 14 turns I think). Killing each one will force one of the other two (who are duelling with your Velites, including one wounded Veles who is incapable of fighting back) to come fight you. The two Velites fighting the veterans will die no matter what, so your job here is to save the final Veles, who is wounded an incapable of defending himself. To save him, you have to clear two of the Veterans fighting you, forcing the 2 other veterans attacking the Velites to come fight you instead of finish off the wounded Veles, after you kill two veterans you can take however long you want to finish the fight, just make sure you don’t take too long to kill two of the veterans (a great way to do this is to focus one veteran, kill him, then focus the other and kill him, don’t split your damage across several enemies, just focus two of the veterans until they die) If you manage to do this, the Veles will still be alive, you can carry him back to the ranks and save his life, earning you a civic crown and 5 cups and a high bonus to troop, centurion and 6 points of proconsul opinion.

Ob Civem Servatum III
While encamped at Ottolubus near the Macedonian border, shortly after landing in Greece and starting the 3rd campaign, you will be sent to scavenge and forage for supplies for your army from a nearby wheat field. Macedonian cavalry will set upon you and your men while they are apart. Here you can order your troops (if you are high rank enough) to either close ranks or disperse and run for it. Whichever choices you make, including joining the distant skirmish after the cavalry onslaught, you will be presented with a dilemma of which path to take to get back to your legion; a marshland route, or a forest route. Choose the forest route. Along the way, a companion of yours, Marcellus, will fall and receive an incapacitating injury. You have to carry him instead of abandon him. Shortly thereafter, two elite Macedonian Peltasts will kill two legionaries who are with you with their javelins in an ambush, and then they will attack you and Marcellus, who is injured and cannot fight. You have to kill the first Petlast in under 16 turns to be able to rescue Marcellus from being killed by the other Peltast. If you fail to defeat the first Peltast before 16 turns have passed, you will not receive the civic crown AND the other Peltast will join his comrade in fighting you, making it a difficult 2v1 (these Peltasts are strong foes if you don't have atleast 75 shield skill and 80 sword skill).
