I think it's very much required to memorize that boss perfectly. The boss provides quite a lot of scoring for dealing damage to it with Trance, so it'd be worth quite a lot if you could no miss it. However, the game offers no way to train it. The only reasonable way for me to improve on this would be through the use of tools which I'm personally not a fan of.

Really impressive grazing. Can any human defeat the last boss without memorizing all bullet patterns and positions for the ship?
