Zimmerit worked, it just was a solution to an imaginary problem, their idea was that since they applied magnetic mines to enemy vehicles, their enemies would as well

the hell were they trying to do with zimmerit? the best answer i have is that they were trying to design something to stop magnetic antitank mines from sticking to the tank but it doesn't even work for that. all it did was make the tank look cooler than it would without it but it added quite a few hours onto the production process that the Germans really couldn't afford.
