A sandbox that's held up by chains


Tyler's Chained Sandbox is a sandbox map which features a world held up by chains. It also includes 4 giant columns at each corner of the map. Each has a warehouse inside for private building. Also ALSO, there's a lift that'll transport you to the columns, just in case you don't feel like no-clipping there yourself.

The map file is called: gm_chained

Fact: This map took me 7 days to create. From first creating the VMF file to publishing it to the workshop. Additionally it took 2 days to release it to the public. And I may or may not have spent most of that time being lazy.


This map as missing textures. For some reason the letters on the signs on the columns are missing. I can't seem to find a solution, and it seems like the only way to see the letters is to have the exact material in the materials folder.

However the letters are replaced with a very small missing texture that'll not bother your gameplay at all, but if you are bothered by this, click this link[drive.google.com] to download the textures yourself. All you have to do is put the folder into your \garrysmod\materials directory.

I will remove the warning once I fixed the issue


I came up with the idea of the map when I saw a piece of fan art used as a thumbnail in a ROBLOX game. If you wanna see the game I'm talking about click here[web.roblox.com]. It was originally gonna be a TTT map with columns, the rest of the map would be made out of random props and scrap used for buildings, cover, and as a bridge between said columns. But due to my current skill at the time, source being an old engine, and lack of knowledge on how to make a TTT map in the first place. I had to give up on that idea before I started working on it. Then instead I made it as the map you see today.
