Introduction
Welcome to my first ever guide. This guide explains:

1. What is Flanking/Ganking/Harassing?

2. How to avoid Flanking/Ganking/Harassing.

Note:

I'm still a noob. I have played only 3 games (1 win) and have spent around 30 hours into the game.

Please comment below if I wrote something that was not correct. Thanks!

Definitions
Ok, you don't understand what all these Dota 2 terms are. Here, allow me to explain.

(My Dota 2 is very rusty, pardon me if I'm wrong.)

Jungle-

Anything that is not the River, a Lane, an Ancient or a Spawn zone.

Flank

If you are an experienced player, skip this :D. Flank refers to when there is an ambush that comes from your sides. In Dota 2 this refers to attacks from jungle into the lanes.

Gank-
Ganking relates to when two or more heroes team up and intents to kill a hero, usually through fog.

Harass-

Being attacked by another hero with the soul purpouse of not killing but to just damage. If you get harassed too much, you can always die.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Avoiding Them
1. Hero Selection

Yes. Choosing the right heros can affect the ammount of times you get flanked, ganked and harrased!

Choosing heroes that have the "Escape" role are obviously the fastest and have abilites dedicated to running away. (Rikki, Bounty Hunter, Natures Prophet, Puck)

Choosing heroes that have the "Durable" role tend to be slower and less chance of running away. (Tiny, Tusk, Tidehunter, Putch)

2. Observer Wards

Have you ever heard observer wards (150 coins)? Its those stick looking objects that have eyes on them (in the shop). You can place them down and it will increase your teams sight. (Less fog)

Placing them at your jungle, river and almost everywhere can help you see and predict when a hero/group of heroes flank you. Also helps your team too check out whether those runes have respawned and when the other team start on Roshan.

Sentry Wards (200 coins) are basically the same, except that they are more expensive and can see invinsible people.

3. Item Selection

Sort of the same as the previous one, choosing good items can really be the difference between life and death. Item knowledge will get you far.

In my opinion, here are some of my favourite "avoidance" items.

Blink Dagger- Teleports you aways as long as you have not been damage in the last 3 secounds. (2150 coins)

Boots Of Travel (2450 coins) - Teleports you to the closest friendly building. Double tapping will auto-tele to the team's fountain.

Power Treads (1400 coins) - An economic choice. Allows you run faster. Also increases your attack speed and selected attributes. (Strength for protecting yourself, attack speed for faster attacks!)

Rod of Atos (3100 coins) - Slows down your attackers if used. Better for intelligence heroes.

Talisman of Evasion (1800 coins) - Increases your evasion by 25 points. Self explanatory.

Scythe of Vyse (5675 coins) - Allows you to turn your attackers into sheep. Good for people with good humour.

The End.
Right thanks for reading this guide!
