How to edit combat units in the game

Detailed description
According to my research, both games are using ASC files to control the operation of all units.

You can use any text editor to open these files with the suffix '.mdl', '.odl' and '.wdl'.

.mdl: the design of whole mission.
.odl: object model file.
.wdl: the coordinate and direction of static objects.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to check and change the coordinate of map. So the only thing you can do is change the type of weapons and units in the mission.

For example, this is data of a Commanche:

You can change the first line "type" to another unit or weapon.

Some units are only exist in a particular campaign. If you want to use them in every mission, then you must copy the object data to '.odl' file of other campaigns.


If you want to control a static object, then you must copy the "dynamics" data of other dynamic units. Such as this:

Hah! The dragon looks crazy! :D I recall it was one of the units I was unable to spawn. I wonder what was its purpose before it was cut.
