Using the mouse mod imo is counterproductive, because the cyberia on the back is equipped just to generate cubes, the dmg is irrelevant but a nice feature in the early stages,and with the auto aim it's gonna always hit a target anyways. The point of the guide is to show a method that is more reliable than standard cooling devices in a relatively early stage of the game, so that you can add whatever you want in the future without worrying about heat for a long time.
Give yourself the Circulus, plus the ship attachment that lets your drones also shoot. Upgrade circuls to maximum.
Alternatively, equip the gem that allows you to aim with the mouse
