Megaquarium Fish & Plant Geography Guide
By Shipwrecked
Welcome to the Megaquarium Fish and Plant Geography Guide! Have you ever wanted to make theme specific areas in Megaquarium featuring sea\plant life from specific regions of the world? Then this guide is for you! Essentially this is just a one stop geography guide showing the ranges of all of the plant and sea life in Megaquarium so you can pair fish together in a more natural way with plant life that they would actually have in their natural habitat. Currently this guide is a WIP.

Introduction
Hello folks, and welcome to the Megaquarium Fish and Plant Geography guide! As a seasoned veteran of games like Zoo Tycoon, Marine Park Empire, and the SeaWorld Adventure games, I often like to group animals together based on their real life geographic locations. This allows me to theme places appropriately and to group animals together that would coexist in the wild. What this guide is designed to do is bring all geographic information about each animal (and plant, if possible) from Megaquarium (as well as its new expansion pack) and group it all in one place. This will include the region the animal is from (Indian Ocean, North Sea, etc.), and it's type of habitat (coral reefs, open ocean, etc.). My goal is to help people organize their aquariums by theme or by region if so desired without having to scour the web and look up every animal or plant while building their aquariums.

All of this information is easily found on the web, and this is not a in-depth guide by any means. It is just meant to be a one stop shop for those of us who like to categorize stuff by geography, either for authenticity or for theming purposes.

Also as a note, all of this information will be from Wikipedia unless otherwise noted. Again, I just wanted to lump all of this info in one spot for ease of access. If anyone notes any mistakes in geography for any fish, please let me know in the comments and I'll do my best to correct it!

Amazing resource man, thanks for all the effort!

No problem. :)
Shipwrecked  [author] 19 Jun, 2021 @ 11:21pm
Oh, haha. I was thinking Angelfish, not the Cichlids. I'll adjust that. Thank you!
krishnath.dragon 18 Jun, 2021 @ 5:59am
It's in the above document under Cichlids. ;)
Shipwrecked  [author] 18 Jun, 2021 @ 3:47am
Ah, gotcha. I'll make note of that when I get to the freshwater fish.
krishnath.dragon 18 Jun, 2021 @ 12:59am
Yes. The freshwater Angels are clearly Pterophyllum scalare and not Pterophyllum altum due to their existing color morphs of them in the game. Altum Angelfish are Discus level difficult to keep and require huge tanks due to their size.
Shipwrecked  [author] 17 Jun, 2021 @ 6:21pm
Do you mean the freshwater Angels?
krishnath.dragon 17 Jun, 2021 @ 2:51pm
Tiny note, due to the player being able to breed morphs from the angel fish, it is clearly the Scalare angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) and not the Altum. The Altum also has a higher body and much longer fins than the one in the game.
