Tired of getting demolished going through the usual 6 stages? Are your lives dwindling away as you fail to maneuver around the vast barrage of bullets where the use of bombs just prolong the inevitable? About to go in a fit of rage just trying to get that 1CC? Well venture no further! This guide will show you an easy, and dishonorable, way of unlocking the Extra Stage.

First, go to this Website [moriyashrine.org], scroll down and click on the scoreth10.dat file provided. Here's a picture:



Once downloaded, open two File Explorers(or whatever location your files are in depending on the OS you have) that shows the downloaded scoreth10.dat and the th10 folder following this folder path(again, all dependent on the OS you have):



Now drag and drop the file into the th10 folder:



Replace the old scoreth10.dat file with the new scoreth10.dat file:



Once replaced, boot up the game and you should now be able to select Extra Stage. With the new file, you can choose both Reimu and Marisa with all three shot types available.

P.S.
Bought or Pirated through other means, you're able to do this to the other main Touhou installments.

If you're a Chad, disregard this guide and get a 1CC on Normal or higher. Most Touhou games makes Normal the lowest difficulty you can do to unlock Extra Stage. Some of them even allows Easy to unlock Extra Stage.

1CC = 1 Coin Continue; Beat the game without continuing.

As of March 27, 2022, due to DMCA complaints from ZUN himself, the website used for this guide no longer holds the file (scoreth10.dat) needed to easily access the Extra Stage. Most to almost all of the main Touhou installments not only had their .dat file removed, but the game download itself along with some spin-offs as well. If you can find another source for .dat files, that's great. I mainly used Moriyashrine for safe downloading purposes.
