How to Play the Game the Right Way:
Step 1: Download Steamless and a hex editor program
Step 2: Navigate to your installation of the game
  • Go to where your Chicken Little game is installed to (typically C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Chicken Little).
Step 3: Edit the game file
  • Right click "Launcher.exe" and unpack it with Steamless. Following this, open the unpacked version of the exe with the hex editor program you downloaded (in this case HxD). Note: You can also open the file directly through Steamless and the hex editing program.

  • Search for the text that says "1280x1024" and edit this to the resolution of your monitor - Ex: 2560x1440. If your resolution height is less than 1000 pixels, edit the value "1024x768" instead, and be sure to select that value in step 4 (You may have to type your resolution out in a text document, copy it, then right click replace the text with "paste write" in the hex editor). Secondary Note: Use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+F" to search manually for the value. Ensure that you are under the "Text-string" tab.

  • Save the file with the changes you've made, rename your original "Launcher.exe" to "Launcherbackup.exe" - then rename your unpacked version "Launcher.exe" and launch the game normally through Steam.
Step 4: Enjoy the wonderful game that is Chicken Little
  • Launch the game and be sure to set the resolution to "1280x1024" in the launcher.

  • Play the game and embrace the wonderful world that Chicken Little has to offer!
    Final Note: If you want to run the game fullscreen, purchase the software "Borderless Gaming" through Steam to support the developers, or download it online.
Because this game is so poorly ported, you may also need a program to cap your FPS to 144, 60, or maybe even 30 FPS to resolve performance issues with the game's physics. I suggest using RivaTuner Statistics Sever (RTSS) - https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html

This game takes a lot of effort to get in a good playable state, but it plays like a dream when it's all said and done. I hope this guide was helpful, and I hope that more people are able to overcome this absolutely horrible port because of it!

P.S. I HIGHLY recommend using a controller for this game as well.

Hey I don't understand what you mean by "Right click "Launcher.exe" and unpack it with Steamless." Do you mean the file in the game folder "chick" that runs the game? do you mean extract steamless into the game file? move the game file into the steamless folder? I don't have much experience doing this so if you could explain in very basic terms I would greatly appreciate it.

My Steam controller doesn't work with the game. Do I need to reassign the keys to their specific functions or something?
