Approach the fly calmly and try to hug or barf near the fly to make it feel better. If you have showered recently this will not work and the fly will attack, so try rubbing feces on yourself or barfing on yourself.

After you have hugged or barfed near the fly you gently remove the knife from the fly's hand if the fly doesn't let you immediately back off and throw up and try again until you get the knife.

The fly will try to be friends with you so take the offer or it will snap. In the event it does snap follow the rules below and DO NOT break them.
