Origin of the MLG Columbus 2016 Nuke Souvenir Packages
Just hours before the Grand Final of MLG Columbus 2016, as a way to flesh out the schedule for the day, the tournament coordinators decided to cherry pick the finest talent from the US and EU at the time, and had them play against each other in an 'EU All-Stars vs. US All-Stars'. It was played on Nuke, which at that time had been significantly updated and taken out of the map pool (so was not played at all at MLG Columbus 2016 other than this match). They played a Bo1 match, so only played this map and no follow-up, and resulted in a final score of EU: 19 - 22 :US. This was somewhat of a very special occasion, as nothing like this had really been done before. Because of this, unique stickers were made for the souvenir packages dropped during this match, as they couldn't exactly use team stickers.

The Rosters for each team were:

Europian All-Star Team:

GeT_RighT (NiP)
kennyS (EnVyUs)
NiKo (Mousesports)
rain (FaZe)
Maikelele (FaZe)

United States All-Star Team:

S1mple (Liquid)
Tarik (CLG)
shroud (Cloud 9)
Hiko (Liquid)
Skadoodle (Cloud 9)
Why they will inevitably increase in value (Appreciate x%)
There are many reasons that these capsules/skins are a secure investment:

  • They are currently priced/selling at around $55, used to sell for $7 (685.714% increase)

  • 1 Map played, therefore low supply (Only 1 souvenir case with these stickers)

  • Due to top tier talent being picked for the match, there are many with highly desirable player
    autographs
    , e.g. 'S1mple, kennyS, Get_RighT, NiKo, Shroud'

  • Good Looking stickers [NOTE: Opinion-based]

  • Incredibly Low Supply compared to other Souvenirs Packages

  • Unique stickers, only ever dropped from this 1 package

  • 28 Sold in last month (there is a definite demand for these skins)

  • Nice collection that contains very nice skins (M4A4 Fallout Warning, P250 Nuclear Threat,
    Tec-9 Nuclear Threat)

  • Contains very rare Tec-9 skin, and the Tec-9 is being reintroduced into the meta recently (as of May 2020) [NOTE: This reason is subject to change, due to the guns usage fluctuating]

Stable Investment? YES Exponential Investment? NO
I am almost 100% sure these Souvenir Packages WILL go up in price in the future, and will continue to grow in value. HOWEVER I am also sure they will NOT grow exponentially or very much and here is my reasoning...

There is not a HUGE demand for these capsules, as they are so limited but also so unknown. There are so many collectors, who just don't know these exist - I have asked numerous friends who have souvenir collections, and they genuinely have never heard of these. As a result of this, no new players/collectors will ever find out about them because no one talks about them (again, because no one knows about them).

I have a few of these packages, and also a few play skins with the All-Star stickers as I really love them, and every time I use them in-game peoples reactions are priceless - they genuinely have never seen them before and ask me how much I bought my skins for. I always respond with the same reply "I didn't buy them for that much really, as no one knows about them, the prices are not really that high".

We've seen this before, it might be the same
I would compare these Souvenir Packages/Skins' prices and demand, to something like the 'Harp of War (Holo) Sticker', they were a sticker no one really new about, that had a low supply but also low demand as a result to their anonymity. Then earlier last year, they were discovered by the main player base (Youtuber/sticker crafter OhnePixel made a video + tweet about them).

OhnePixel is a very influential investor and sticker crafter: https://twitter.com/ohnePixel

This in term, created a huge demand for these stickers, and consequently it's price skyrocketed. 1 month prior to its mass discovery in 'April 2019', it was selling for about $30. However, by the time OhnePixel made his knowledge of the sticker known to the public, the demand increased exponentially so did its value. In his video, he showcased its steam market page, which displayed it had a 425% appreciation. Now a year on, there is still a positive correlation between value and demand, and is worth $400 (1900% in total since its discovery).

The potential of the same phenomenon happening with these skins/packages is very likely, however it is only possible with the same injection of publicity (which is very unlikely).

Conclusion
If these skins/packages don't get the publicity and recognition (which is the likely outcome), then they will likely just increase slowly over time, as the supply slowly dwindles - but will never exponentially peak.

I am happy with the fact that they may never be as desirable as a 'Dreamhack 2014 Cobblestone Souvenir Package'. I have a deep love for these skins - so I will always buy and play with them no matter what they are priced at.

[This is more of an essay-style post, as I genuinely have (and always have had) a passion for these skins/stickers , and hope one day they get the exposure they deserve]

Too hard to sell. Not like a sticker because you have to specifically search em on the market + they don't look that cool. Unless souvenirs in general become way more popular they'll remain as a MEH tier investment (by that I mean there are numerous better ways to invest).
