Introduction
Tired of looking at those default CSS Gloves?
You can actually change them by going to the Garry's Mod workshop and search "gloves", from there on you will see a catalog for the CSS glove reskins available. However sometimes, they don't work, and not just because you forgot to turn off other glove addons. This guide will help you in properly installing gloves and troubleshoot issues where those new gloves just won't show up.
The Basics
Simply by searching "gloves" in the Garry's Mod workshop, you will be greeted with a variety of selection for reskins

All you need to do is click the green plus button for the workshop reskin you want and re-start Garry's Mod. Make sure that you disable all other glove addons as they might conflict with the ones you want.
Non-workshop gloves
You can still reskin your default gloves with CSS reskins not available on the steam workshop from external sites.
In order to use gloves from third-party sites, you need to know where to put the files, this should be the folder where you unpack all the glove files in. You start off by "browsing local files" under properties when you right click on Garry's Mod.
  • steamapps
  • common
  • GarrysMod
  • garrysmod
  • materials
  • models
  • weapons
  • v_models
  • hands [Unpack the glove content here]

NOTE: Gloves that are manually installed this way will override any other gloves that are enabled from the steam workshop.
CSS Textures conflicting with gloves
If you do not own CSS and manually installed the CSS textures in your addons folder, this folder in some cases will have a "hands" folder that conflicts with other reskins, especially those installed from the steam workshop. For your gloves to work, you will need to delete a folder within the CSS texture folder.

  • materials
  • models
  • weapons
  • v_models
  • hands [DELETE CONTENTS]
You can choose to either delete only the contents of the folder or the whole folder itself which doesn't matter as what this does is basically remove the default css gloves in your Garry's Mod folder.

Having this folder is the equivalent of having custom gloves manually installed in your materials folder which will override every single other workshop glove.

Deleting this folder will delete the default CSS gloves entirely, so it's not much of a re-skin, it's more of a replacement as you can't reskin the file for default CSS gloves if the texture is in your Garry's Mod addons folder.
Hopefully this guide has assisted you
