1996. What a hell of a year! It seemed as though there was something new, cutting edge and innovative released every week. With games like Wipeout, Tomb Raider, Super Mario 64, Resident Evil, Tekken 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Civilization 2, and many more. It is one of the best years in gaming history.

Today I decided to take a trip, or "Slipgate", down memory lane to play the greatness that is Quake. Did someone say "Steak"?... NO!..I said QUAKE!!! It's incredible how well the game still holds up after more than 20 years. Join me as I play through Episode 1 while pumping NIN Trent Reznor's masterpiece of a soundtrack through a gothic, Lovecraftian, industrial parallel dimension.

As much as we all love "Chunky" Quake, Quakespasm has been used to play the game at a higher resolution and add a few quality of life improvements

It's been a while since I properly played the game, so I can not remember all secrets, and normal mode is challenging enough. Be kind in the comments. We are all here to have fun :)
