Introduction
  • Estimated difficulty: 3/10.

  • Estimated 100% time: ~2-4 hours.

  • Offline/online achievements: 16 offline / 0 online.

  • Number of playthroughs: Highly depends on how you decide to tackle the achievements.

  • Glitched achievements: 2. (Can't Swing A Dead Cat Without Hitting Another Dead Cat, Self Inflicted Wound)

WARNING: This guide contains a lot of spoilers. Continue at your own risk.

Side note on glitched achievements: They are all still possible to earn, but it seems that sometimes a cat or your zombie clone just doesn't spawn.

Note on S-Rank: Completing the game with an S-Rank unlocks a 1 shot kill Golden Gun to pick up near the phone at the start of the game. This gun does NOT disable achievements and can help in making many of the others that much easier. Credit to マテジコ for the correction.
The Easy Way Out

As soon as you enter the mansion do not answer the phone. Instead, turn around and keep interacting with the front door until it opens and you get a new cutscene.
S-Rank Champaign Party!

This achievement cannot be done on Easy. I recommend Normal difficulty.
S-Rank is fairly easy to achieve and in order to do so must complete the following:

  • Beat the game in under 20 minutes.
  • No deaths. (I died once during the Muriel section so unsure if she counts towards the total.)
  • Found all 3 secrets. (Hunting Rifle, Quick Load Mod, Lucky Rabbit Foot.)
  • Complete the Step-Tracker section in under 2 minutes(?)

I also didn't heal or save. Unsure if they count towards S-Rank or not.
Fully Loaded

Hunting Rifle
Enter the room with the cat sleeping on the bed. If you head straight down and through the left door you will enter a bathroom. Interact with the tub to acquire the roll of film. Next, head back to the hall with the bar counter (where the dog like creature jumps through the window) and enter the dark room. Interact with the sink on the left to develop the film and get a safe code. Continue through the game until you enter a hallway with a bed in it. Head down to the far end and enter the door there to find the safe. inside is the rifle.

Quick Load Mod
When you reach the hallway with all the bugs in it, you can find a bookshelf that is covering a door. Push it out of the way and enter the room to find this mod all the way at the end.

Lucky Rabbit Foot
During the section where you take control of Muriel you will enter a room with a cat in it. Keep interacting with the cat until it runs up to the zombie in the room and gets chased by it. Progress through until you regain control of Cass, go to the room with the 2 female survivors. Instead of going out the door labeled exit, go out the left door to backtrack to where the cat was. Interact with its guts to discover the Skeleton key. Finally, backtrack to the hallway where you boosted Muriel into the vent just before her section. Directly opposite the vent is a door you can now unlock. The Rabbit Foot is inside.
Impervious

Best done on Easy difficulty. I also recommend finishing the game once or twice to become familiar with the zombies spawns, item locations, and level layout. There's plenty of ammo to kill all the zombies in the rooms we immediately need to go in to finish the game. I definitely recommend absolutely killing the zombie in the room with the Library Key, the zombie in the room with the Bobby Pin, the dog creature, shoot all the bugs (don't try to run to the Pesticide), and the 2 groups at the end of the game to be safe. Everything else is at your discretion. During the boss fight, when he starts sprinting, simply kite him until he crashes then land a few shots in between.
That's...not okay

During the section where you take control of Muriel you will enter a room with a cat in it. Keep interacting with the cat until it runs up to the zombie in the room and gets chased by it. Progress through until you regain control of Cass, go to the room with the 2 female survivors. Instead of going out the door labeled exit, go out the left door to backtrack to where the cat was. Interact with its guts to discover the Skeleton key. Pick it up to earn the achievement.
Thanks But No Tanks

At any point, pause the game and go to the Config section. Change your game controls from "3D" to "Tank" and unpause the game. Then, go back in and change the settings back to "3D".
Just What The Hell Is Going On Here?

All documents must be read in a single run.

#1) Hook an immediate right into the wooden shack as soon as you start the game.

#2) A little further ahead is a giant wooden sign. I'm unsure if this counts towards the achievement, but I've included it anyways.

#3) Inside the dining room on the table.

#4) On the shelf to the right of the Library Key.

#5) Hook a right immediately after entering the library.

#6) At the front of the library on the center table.

#7) There's apparently one more note in the Library, according to マテジコ, however, I'm currently unsure of it's exact location as I played this game a few years ago. If I find time to do a quick speedrun, I'll update this with a screenshot and proper location.

#8) After exiting the library, enter the first door on your left. On the shelf next to the filing cabinet.

#9) Opposite end of the same room.

#10) Exit back into the hall way and look on top of the bar counter.

#11) Just past the bar will be another hallway. Enter the first room on your right. Hanging on the right wall.

#12) After entering the room with the orange cat sleeping on the bed, go straight down and enter the right door into the bathroom.

#13) In the same room, grab the roll of film. Head back to the dark room and interact with the sink on the left to develop it.

#14) After entering a hallway with a bed on the right side of it, head all the way down and interact with the grandfather clock on the bottom of the screen.

#15) Enter the room directly behind you and interact with the nightstand.

#16) Same room on the bookshelf to the left.

#17) After defeating the boss interact with the table in the center of the room.

#18) After killing all the bugs, push the bookshelf in the same hallway to reveal a door. Head in to find this on one of the shelves.

#19) At the end of the same room.

#20) After freeing Muriel from her room, head back inside to find this note next to her bed.

DON'T FORGET TO PET THE CAT IN MURIEL'S SECTION TO GET IT KILLED.
NEEDED FOR SKELETON KEY!

#21) After completing Muriel's section, enter the operating room to find this on the back counter.

#22-24) When you reach the room with the 2 female survivors, don't go through the exit door. Instead, go out the left door and backtrack through Maurice's section to find these 3 notes.

#25) Backtrack to the hallway where you boosted Maurice through the vent and unlock the door opposite of it with the Skeleton Key. Interact with the fish tank.

#26) I'm unsure if there's a legitimate way to get the computer password, however, every time you interact with it you have a 2% chance to get the password right. Keep trying until you read the file.

#27) Head back out through the exit door to find this note at the bottom of the stairs.

#28) Finally, during the final escape scene, read the letter on the table in the very first room of the mansion before triggering cutscene to leave.
No Animals Were Harmed in the Making of This Achievement

Simply complete the game with no saves, which means you cannot kill any cats, including the one during Muriel's section. Just don't interact with it to keep it alive.
Can't Swing A Dead Cat Without Hitting Another Dead Cat

You must kill all 7 cats located in the game.

#1) Located in the very first room of the mansion after acquiring the Library Key.

#2) Located on a bed shortly after the bar room where the dog creature bursts through the window.

#3) Exits from the dumbwaiter after sending the food up to Muriel.

#4) Exits from the elevator after pushing the button in the boss room.

#5) Found on the bed next to the Quick Load Mod.

#6) Is during Muriel's section. Keep interacting with it until it gets the zombies attention.

#7) Found on the couch in the Study you need the Skeleton Key to open. Opposite of the fish tank.
Self Inflicted Wound

As of the latest update, this achievement has become much easier. Whenever you die to a zombie in the game, your corpse has a chance to reanimated and appear in any room adjacent to the one you die in. The chance of it happening isn't 100%, but it is much higher than it used to be. Simply find your clone and kill it for the achievement.
You Little Monster

When you reach the room with the 2 female survivors, you can find an air hockey table. Interact with it to start a game with Muriel. Score 7 points on her to earn the achievement.
Gold Star

Simply Beat the game on any difficulty. For a full mini-walkthrough, read Hard Mode below.
Hard Mode

Beating the game on Hard is not as difficult as it may seem. I recommend beating the game once or twice first to learn the enemy and item placement, as well as map layout.

  • At the start of the game, enter the wooden shack. Behind the crates you can find an ammo pack.
  • Once you enter the house, head left to the dining room and enter the door at the left end. Inside you'll find the Library Key.
  • Kill the zombie that enters to not take a hit.
  • Run past the enemies in the dining room and kill the cat at the lobby to save if you'd like.
  • Kill the zombie in the middle of the library, then run to far wall and hook left. There is a zombie by the door we need so be sure to hug the upper wall.
  • Once in the bar room, trigger the dog creature and kill it as it can move faster than you and hit you multiple times.
  • Head back down and enter the first room on the left. I usually kill the zombie in here, but you don't need to.
  • Enter the next room, kill the zombie, and grab the Bobby Pin.
  • When you enter a tiny room with a bunch of boxes, be wary of the zombie in here. I usually kill it.
  • Continue through the game until you come to the kitchen. Grab the tuna on the shelf to the left, and the fork on the stove to the right, then interact with the dumbwaiter at the far right end of the room to send the food up to Muriel and get the Eye.
  • Unlock the door in front of you and head back to the first room of the mansion.
  • Interact with the giant door to enter the boss fight.
  • You don't need the Rifle, or even ammo prior to entering. If you search the room, it actually contains enough supplies to kill him no matter what. Just don't miss! When he starts sprinting, take your time to kite him around the room and wait for him to crash before getting a few shots in.
  • Once he's dead, push the button and take the elevator up.
  • Take the time to shoot all the bugs in here one by one. If you try to use the Pesticide they can swarm to you and kill you very quickly.
  • Head down to the end of the hall to find a metal door. Open it up to free Muriel. Head back down the hall to find a vent you can boost Muriel into.
  • Go through her small section avoiding the few zombies as you go. Don't worry if you get caught, this section has auto-saves.
  • After regaining control of Cass head through the operating room to the room with the 2 female survivors and go out the door labeled exit.
  • Be careful of the zombie in here. Shoot her if you have to.
  • You'll arrive back in the bar room and there will be a horde in here. If you have the ammo to kill them go for it, otherwise they're fairly easy to kite.
  • Head back to the library and be aware of the newly spawned enemies in here. Again, either kill them or run through.
  • Go the the entrance of the mansion and you're done! Congrats!
Overtime

You unlock Overtime by completing the game once on any difficulty.

Overtime is a secondary run through the game where you must find 4 randomly placed objects (a lockbox, small key, hollow bullets, and vial). this mode gives you a ton of healing items and ammo, so don't feel too stressed about killing or wasting supplies.

  • Reference your map to find the 4 items, 2 are usually (always?) on the main floor, and 2 on the upper floor.
  • Make sure to grab the fuse at the very start. To the left of the elevator in the original boss room is a fuse box. Install the fuse there to power it up.
  • Once you have all 4 items, head to the elevator and take it to the basement.
  • Open the inventory and combine the lockbox with the small key to get the golden gun.
  • Combine the hollow ammo with the vial to get the Stopper Rounds.
  • This gun has infinite ammo so lay into Hank until he dies.
Undead Friend

This achievement is for completing the game without killing a single ZOMBIE. Killing the boss is okay (as you are forced to), and killing the bugs outside Muriel's room is also okay. I'm unsure if killing the dog creature nulls the achievement.
Bug Spray

When you reach the hallway with the flying bugs, you cannot shoot a single one. Instead, run to the right and interact with the giant canister to fill the room with pesticide and kill all the bugs instantly to earn the achievement. Don't forget to open the window afterwards!

Thanks a lot for your guide, it was of great help to me.
As for the missing note in your guide, I think マテジコ might've been talking about this one (https://imgur.com/a/A75nOVN) , I wasn't able to find any other one there.

Okay, I updated all of the info and gave you credit. :) Thanks again for the corrections ans kind words!

I also looked at the most recent patch and the clone did get a major buff to it's spawn rate, so that's great for new people attempting that achievement. It used to be such a pain in the ass to get it to appear.

Thank you for your effort, your guide helped me and many others. Good job on that. About the clone - maybe it was changed since you've played last or I was extremely lucky because I've met her many times on first few playthroughs where i died a handful of times

I appreciate the info on the golden gun and the missing file! I didn't even realize I missed one. I'll update that in a bit when I get to my PC.

As for the zombie clone, I was supposed to update that based on dev info a while back but completely forgot to. Killing the first zombie is definitely the fastest way to attempt it, but from what I recall, it's extremely luck based for the clone to actually spawn. Unless they changed something you got really lucky to get it first try!

I would also like to add that you've missed one file in the library. If you collect that and follow the rest of the guide, you will get the achievement after reading both files in the Skeleton key room. So that makes the Pasword PC file also count.

I want to clear up some little wrongs here so that future players have more confidence.

-Golden Gun does not disable Achievements, nor does it prevent the clone zombie to spawn
-Easiest way to spawn the clone zombie is to have the very first zombie kill you. This spawned the zombie for me on the very first try, while I had the golden gun equiped.

Thanks a lot!
Btw, you dropped this: :ftkcrown:
Stef  [author] 21 Nov, 2023 @ 9:34am
I should have time later tonight or tomorrow! I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Stasyak 21 Nov, 2023 @ 7:45am
Nope, I haven't got the achevement. Spent 1.5-2 hours playing air hockey but couldn't beat Muriel :c

If you are not busy and ready to boot the game up, I would really appreciate it. But it's okay, if you can't do that

Hey, sorry for the late reply! I'm not sure if you got the achievement yet, and I wrote this quite a few years ago so my memory isn't all there on the game.

I definitely could have included more details or a strat on that achievement. Do you need me to run through the game and see what I can figure out?
