How to Handle your Anger
By BlindTwig
Do you get mad in Halo? Do you just have anger issues in general? Can't control your anger and end up damaging your own equipment? We've all probably been there at some point. As someone who has anger issues, there's a lot of things you can do to help calm yourself down and continue having fun. Playing a game and just getting mad at it means you aren't going to have fun.

So, here's my quick and dirty guide to help you keep calm and enjoy yourself!

This is what most of you are here for, so this will be what we talk about first.

Disclaimer
Please, keep in mind, this advice comes from someone who DOES NOT play competitively AT ALL. I only play in social and customs! Obviously, the more competitive matchmaking mode is out of my experience, as I see Halo as a casual game to mess around with, personally.

Dealing With Players That Are Much Better Than You
We've all had it happen, no matter what game it is. Someone on the other team or just in the server in general is way better than you, and probably other players, and have the game under complete lockdown, with near perfect aim and awareness. It's frustrating isn't it? Well, yeah, of course it is! You can hardly play the game! In a situation like this, the best you can possibly do is to keep trying, and ignore your own thoughts against them. Don't ♥♥♥♥ talk the player, don't demonize them and think they're doing it on purpose. They're just playing the game and are a better player. Just keep playing the best you can, and don't be disappointed if you lose.

I know it sounds kinda bad, but it really is the best you can do if you simply aren't skilled enough to take control back. Just don't quit the game, especially if it's a team-based mode. Your teammates don't want to have to deal with having both unbalanced teams and an extremely skilled player.

Just Not Doing Well Yourself
Not having good games? Just not able to get kills, or even hit shots at all? That's a sign of fatigue, most of the time. Best thing to do is just take a break, otherwise you'll keep getting mad at yourself (or blame the game) and do worse because of it.

Dealing With Bad Teammates
This one is the most simple. Switch to a FFA match, and you won't have to deal with teammates at all! If you insist on playing team-based modes, though, just try not to think about them if their skill level is bothering you. Just do your best and don't think about it too much, okay?

Finding Something to Distract Yourself a Little
Sometimes, if nothing else works, the insanity of Halo can help! The games all have their own unique quirks that can be entertaining, so try looking for some in your matches. Find bodies in funny locations, find a dumb hiding spot, just goof off and do something dumb! We all enjoy a little stupidity in our games from time to time, right?
Campaign
Remember: It's a Singleplayer Game, so Forget your Pride
Nobody really cares if you're bad at the Halo campaigns. They're meant to be enjoyed by a single person or a few friends in co-op, it doesn't matter if you're doing badly. If it's because of the difficulty, turn it down a level or two. There's no shame in playing on Easy!

Invite a Friend to Play
Just not having fun or getting overwhelmed and frustrated? Invite a friend to play co-op with you! Everything is better if you have a friend to go along with. Team up and find some dumb or ingenious ways of playing the game, find some fun exploits, anything to spice up the normal gameplay!

Again, Find Dumb Distractions
Just like in Multiplayer, the campaigns have plenty of dumb things that can happen! Sometimes it's not even hard to find, too. Like a bunch of floodlings just standing there, not attacking.
Obligatory Ending Section
Thank you all for reading, if you did! I know this guide is a bit cheesy and all, but I felt like it could actually help some people. Most of the methods I listed tend to help me out a lot, and can be applied to other games at the same time!

This guide was inspired by another guide written for TF2. This isn't as large as it, obviously, but it's not the size that matters. If you have any suggestions for this guide, feel free to comment down below!

EDIT: this is just before publishing and honestly idek why i am publishing this, it's a terrible guide lmao

if anyone wants to do a better version feel free to, this was terrible and i hate it

It's a good guide for casuals with some cool psychological advice for calming yourself down. Don't listen to the dude below, he just thinks everyone is as cOmPeTeTitiVE and cringe as him

Offical Guide To Not Raging At Halo:
GET GUD!
1. If you are killing people you are doing better than 60% of players.
2. Find your game mode.
3. Enjoy the rage, embrace the rage and turn it into competitive edge because without that you are just anther target that I shoot ;)

I found this entertaining to read because this is legit wrong in everyway, in fact you dont speak about learning spawns, enjoying playlists or even.

Your advice is to basically be a bitch and not learn from your mistakes. this is a competitive game and if you cant handle the heat get outta the kitchen SCRUBS <3 Get Gud or Cry on Cod cause Halo isnt the place for babies ;) <3

tbh I've found the best response to terminal online multiplayer rage is to not play online multiplayer. Been having a much better time since employing this particular strat.
