Assault Suit Leynos Achievement Guide
By Clairvoyant Chocobo
After a lot of digging, research, trial and error I thought I'd place a guide here on Steam to make getting the achievements a little more clear.
Some of the descriptions can be a little vague, so let's get these together!

For starters
All these achievements can be completed on Easy difficulty!
And unless otherwise noted, in Arcade Mode.

Listen if you want to go Hard, then go for it!
The nature of this guide is to get those achievements checked off as quickly as possible.
This works for the diehards or the casuals.
Prelude (Some things to consider)
I should say that a lot of these achievements don't pop exactly like you might think they should.
You'll swear you did just the right thing and you won't be awarded.

For that I suggest taking each goal you're going for one step at a time.
Just remember, anytime you fail to do what you're after you can always reset the stage before it's complete and just try again.

Notice the Result log. At the end of each stage, you'll see a list of achievements and sure enough, that one you were going for was totally there! You did it! Right?

Well, no.
It seems that the game only awards the achievements not when text is gray, but instead green!

This is often caused by continuing mid stage. Earned rewards won't be given.

I'll try to list the achievements as I believe they can best be done on a per level basis.
The Easy Stuff
More than a few of these achievements are very easy to understand. I'll list them here and get them out of the way.

Heavy Armor Master

This is the one we're all here for! The coveted goal that says you got them all!

Arcade Hero

Clear the game's Arcade levels

Classic Hero

Clear the game's Classic levels

Guns Guns Guns!

Earn all the weapons in the game. This is awarding after completing the game.
Stage 1 - Raid on Ganymede
Superhuman Pilot
Keep your distance and fire at your enemies from afar and absolutely remember to use that wonderful near invincible shield your assault suit carries.
With practice you'll have this in no time.

Offense is the Best Defense

Beat any stage without your shield. Once you can manage Superhuman Pilot on Stage One, try it without using your shield. In fact, don't even equip the shield, just to be sure.

Old Tricks
Destroy the large ship that appears at the end of Stage One ONLY!
This is very tricky and requires a delicate balancing act of luring all enemy assault suits into a group and running back and forth from one side of the stage to the other while focusing your attacks only on the boss ship. I recommend the D-D weapon as it melts large slow moving enemies and the shield is a MUST.
Do this in Classic Mode. When you get this you'll acquire all the available weapons.
Clear the game and receive the Guns Guns Guns! achievement.

Attack Ship - Normal Hunter
Destroy the Boss ship before it reaches the 30 mile mark.
Remember to bring the D-D weapon as it is very effective.
Tip: Even after the Boss is destroyed, it still has forward momentum that counts before the wreakage lands.

Attack Ship - Master Hunter
Destroy the Boss ship before it reaches the 45 mile mark.
Tip: Even during those forced cutscenes where the camera shifts, you can still move and fire your weapons. Start spraying the D-D weapon as the boss appears. Even alternate fire with another weapon between reloads.
Stage 2 - Escape
Hard Brawler
Once you're comfortable fighting on this stage without dying, try going in with no weapon equipped.
Just bring the booster, shield, and more armor if you have it. Bring out your inner boxer and punch everything you see!
Tip: The boss of this stage (Nox) might seem tremendously hard to defeat with punches as it can crush you quickly by walking into you. Just stand in front of it and punch early enough to attack its front legs. They actually have hitboxes and will nudge you backwards when hit, keeping you safe, if you're quick.

Shuttle Protection Lvl. 1-7
Protect all the shuttles until the end of the stage. They are rather durable, so this isn't too hard.
The second wave is automatically saved if..

Nox Buster

Kill the Boss in Stage 2 quickly and Shuttle Protection is given right away.
Stage 3 - Orbital Attack
Dropship Devastation

Destroy the enemy capital ship before the mission ends.

Versis Protector
Protect your capital ship from damage before reentry. Once the countdown stops at the end of the mission, you're good on this one. To keep it simple, keep enemy craft out of the green side of the minimap seen below.

A Friend In Need
Save Zosaly from burning up on reentry!
You seen this guy die over and over again.
How do you save?
Where is he even? He seems to fly in from nowhere right as the stage ends, just to die in front of you!

To make it simple, just equip 3 Armor stocks the start of the mission.
It's just that simple.
Once the timer for reentry ends, don't board the ship and your pilot drops this handy nugget of information on you.

Riiight..

Anyway, right on cue, Zosaly will fly down in front of the ship and start draining his health.
Hover near his suit, keeping it within the protective shield your suit has around it, while fighting the couple of enemies that come to attack, (because nothing is ever easy) until the mission ends.

Manage to save him and he's very grateful.

He certainly owes you one.
Stage 4 - Front Line Assault
Anti-Air Master
Shoot down all enemies in the airborne section of the stage.
This happens right as the stage starts and is absolutely a pain.
The best I can suggest is bringing a weapon that has a decent splash damage and/or is very hard hitting. Practice.

Rust Resistant
Keep your assault suit dry.
There are 3 bodies of water in the stage before you reach the enemy base.
Be sure to bring your Booster so you can jump over these.

There's Something Here!

Once you're inside the enemy base, you'll have to shoot through three blast doors as you descend into the depths.
Just after shooting through the second door, take the path to the immediate left, drop down and aim as shown.

Shoot here and simply walk through the wall. You'll fall behind the scenery and come out near the final blast door before the stage boss.

Turret Buster I
Destroy all the turrets inside Stage 4's base.
Exactly as it says. There's 45 of them if you'd like to keep count.
I recommend a zigzag path slowly through the base, so you don't miss any.
Stage 5 - Surprise Attack
Deck Buster

Defeat 30 or more Zako (Green enemy assault suits) in any level.
Due to the nature of this level, you should naturally get this here, if you haven't already.

Bulkhead Protector
Protect all Bulkheads from attack.
Similar to Versis Protector, keep all the enemy units from reaching the far left of the map to your base.
Stage 6 - Headquarters Blitz
Bunker Buster

Destroy all enemy bunkers in the stage.Smash all the hill emplacements before going inside the base.

If It Moves

Destroy everything inside the enemy base.

Turret Buster II

Destroy all turrets inside the enemy base. You'll automatically get this when
acquiring If It Moves
Stage 7 - Space Colony Smash
Danger UXB
Avoid detonating any of the mines outside the stage. If you move quickly while dodging them, this should be easy.
Tip: During the last part of the interior part of the stage, there is a choice between an upper and lower path, always take the upper path. The lower portion has a room with mines.

Energy Tank Buster
Destroy all the dome shaped energy tanks in the stage.
Tip: At the start of the stage fly to the bottom of the screen and fly right to reach the tank somewhat hidden outside of the base.
Later upon reaching two paths, choose the upper, there are more tanks along that path.

Always Get Your Prey

Destroy all enemy ships during the escape at the end of the stage.
Be very wary of the small, hard to hit fighters here. They can easily slip by.
Stage 8 - The Final Conflict
Turret Buster III

Destroy all turrets inside the enemy base.
You've done this twice now. You know what to do.

Thank You, Zosaly!

Save Zosaly in Stage 3 and he repays his debt!

CONFIRMED: Classic Hero achievement is discontinued because nobody can complete it. It's 100% very very very very impossible.

I'm pretty sure I destroyed only the boss ship on stage one in classic mode, but those idiot enemies blew each other up, so it didn't count?

That Zosaly thing was definitely some dev taking the piss. How the hell were we supposed to know that?!
