How to avoid depth charges...
The general principle is as follows:

When deep and you notice the enemies active transmission is longer being returned (you no longer hear it "ping") rapidly change your depth.

DaTweaks that is basically the same thing, they can still ping you but they need to be much further away. It's the same with 60, only the pings will pass over closer. The main advantage with going up from a shallow depth is it allows you to get that "one shot kill" up the tail pipe!

so, when you are under about 100 meters they can't ping you anymore so what i usually do is fire all the torpedoes and just change my course 90 degrees to the left or their right of their direction of travel and dive and after they have passed i would go up to periscope and just repeat that until they are all killed
