Preparation
There are few things that you must prep before starting this frustrating grindy infuriating little mini-game.

1. Unlock Ghillie Suit
Unlock this mantle. Very much a staple equipment for our quest in hunting down this critters. While certain endemics might not need ghillie at all. You might need to rethink that when sighting crakes with no ghillie at your disposal.

2. Eat Felyne Zoomaster
This one is certainly mandatory. This will increases likelihood of rare endemics life to appear. Take note that this buff disappear once you return from expedition (visit Seliana/Astera).

3. Get Felyne Macrozoologist
If you want the Gold Crown variant. This buff is for you. Unfortunately, this skills is a daily skill meaning that you must rotate until this buff appear on your canteen. Take note that this buff disappear once you return from expedition (visit Seliana/Astera).

4. Do not pick locale with [unknown] weather
[unknown] weather will appear when there is an elder dragon in the locale. Odd of spawning for rare endemic life is little to none under this condition. AVOID this by simply hunting in different locale for the moment.

Route #1: Coral Highlands
This route will show you an efficient pathway to catch
  • Wiggler Queen
  • Gold Crown Dapper Coralbird
  • Gold Crown Burst Arowana
Locale: Coral Highlands
Time: Night (Higher odd of spawning)
Weather: Clear (Higher odd of spawning)
Starting camp: Southern Camp (1)

Fast travel to camp 1 in Coral Highlands and immediately equip Ghillie Mantle as you jump down the cliff. Below, you can see flocks of Elegant Coralbird. Search this flocks for Dapper Coralbird. They are more bigger and slightly darker than their elegant counterpart. Spawned in numbers of 4 instead of 3.

Next, head left from where you jump earlier and you can find 2 spots where wigglers are spawning Among them might be Wiggler Queen. Easy to spot by their orange color.

Head back to where you jump before and go straight to sector 6. At the entrance of sector 6 (in sector 4), there are multiple Elegant Coralbird where Dapper can spawn. Crouch into sector 6 and head downward until you can find another flock of Elegant Coralbird. Again, Dappers might spawn among them.

If you continue heading downward, there is a pond where Gold Crown Burst Arowana can spawn. Just make sure to wear ghillie to not scare them when you land in the water.
Route #2: Rotten Vale
This route will show you an efficient pathway to catch
  • Gold Crown Augurfly
  • Gloom Gecko
  • Bristly Crake
  • Petricanths
Locale: Rotten Vale
Time: Day/Night
Weather: Clear/Acid Rain
Starting camp: Central Camp (11)

Fast travel to camp 11 and equip ghillie, head down the camp and you can sometimes spot a Gloom Gecko hanging around the brightmoss. Have glowing tail.

Turn right into the acidic pond cave (sector 12) and you can spot 1 or 2 Augurfly flying on the left pond.

Continue heading to sector 15 and you can spot another 1 or 2 Augurfly flying on top of the small pond. In this cave, there is a small chance a bristly crake will spawn on top of mossswine in the area. So always check the mossswine.

There is a small pond to the left of tailraider in this cave that can spawn rare Petricanths.

Route #3: Hoarfrost Reach
This route will show you an efficient pathway to catch
  • Sealord's Crestfish
  • Wintermoon Nettle
  • Goldspring Macaque
  • Gold Crown Glass Parexus
Locale: Hoarfrost Reach

For endemic life in Hoarfrost Reach, you can go with this route (to save time) during:
1. Night: Sealord's Crestfish > Wintermoon Nettle
2. Day: Goldspring Macaque > Gold Crown Glass Parexus

1. Sealord's Crestfish
Time: Night
Weather: Clear
Starting camp: Western Camp (5)

Fast travel to camp 5, jump off the cliff and head right until you found a cave entrance to sector 8.

Head down until you find an exit to a big pond. You can spot a Sealord's Crestfish swimming in this pond.

2. Wintermoon Nettle
Time: Night
Weather: Clear
Starting camp: Northeast Camp (15)

Fast travel to camp 15 and start heading right. At the entrance of Velkana's lair, you can look up into the sky and maybe spot a Nettle. This way you will know that there is one on top before going there.

To catch it continue heading right until you spot several Wedge Beetles on top of you. Clutch onto them and carry on down this path until you reach to the top.

3. Goldspring Macaque
Time: Day
Weather: Clear
Starting camp: Western Camp (5)
Fast travel to camp 5, jump off the cliff and head right until you see a hot spring. You can find a Goldspring hanging on top of the boulder at the middle. You can easily spot them a mile away 'cause of their gold color. You can go straight to Glass Peraxus route after this path.

4. Gold Crown Glass Parexus
Time: Day

Follow the same path as Sealord's Crestfish but as you arrive in the cave (where Viper Tobi always hanging out), turn right and you will see 2 ponds that can spawn Gold Crown Glass Paraxus

Starting camp: Shipwreck Camp (12)

Fast travel to camp 12 and go down at the shipwreck behind the camp, there is another pond that can spawn Gold Crown Glass Paraxus.
Route #4: Ancient Forest
This route will show you an efficient pathway to catch
  • Prism Hercudome
  • Forest Pteryx
  • Blue Diva
  • Gold Hercudome
Locale: Ancient Forest

1. Prism Hercudome
Time: Dusk/Dawn
Weather: Clear/Rainy
Starting camp: Southwest Camp (1)

Fast travel to camp 1, head toward two flower beds in sector 1. You will spot Prism Hercudome on right tree trunk overlooking the sea.

2. Forest Pteryx
Time: Dusk/Dawn
Weather: Clear/Rainy
Starting camp: Northeast Camp (11)

Fast travel to camp 11, head down toward gajalakas. Forest Pteryx will sometimes hopping between trees around this area. They are more colorful than their common counterpart.

3. Blue Diva
Time: Day/Night (Dusk?/Dawn?)
Weather: Clear/Rainy
Starting camp: Northeast Camp (11)

Fast travel to camp 11, you can sometimes hear Blue Diva chirping near the camp. This is your clue on knowing Blue Diva is nearby or not. Simply head west of the camp and look to your right.

Next location is directly behind the canteen.

If Blue Diva is not on either of this two places but you can still hear the chirping, then head south of camp 11. There will be a pond/river below you and the Blue Diva can be seen chirping on this tree trunk.

4. Gold Hercudome
Time: Night
Weather: Clear/Rainy
Starting camp: Northeast Camp (11)

Fast travel to camp 11, head toward Pukei-Pukei Nest. As you head there, take the upper ramp and you will see a Gold Hercudome on a dead tree between 2 Thunderbugs on the right.
Downy Crakes and Bristly Crakes
These two critters are the hardest duo to capture in the game.

Downy Crakes
Time: Day/Night/Dusk/Dawn
Weather: Clear/Rainy

1. Do the Skyward Sniper event quest
In the event quest Skyward Snipers, a pack of them are guaranteed to spawn atop a Grandfather Mantagrell in Area 12.

2. Switch Locale between Ancient Forest and Wildspire Waste
While this is not a reliable method but still feasible, switching between the locales will spawn reset the downy crakes. Fast travel to camp 1 and take a look on the back of Aptonoth/Apceros. If the critters is not there, switch to Ancient Forest/Wildspire again and repeat.

Bristly Crakes
Time: Day/Night/Dusk/Dawn
Weather: Clear/Rainy

1. Do the Rotten Vale Path (Route #2)
In my opinion this is probably the fastest method to make bristly crake spawn on the back of mosswine in sector 15. If the bristly crake is not there, simply reset the locale by going to other locale and then going back to Rotten Vale.

Blue Divas also appear near Camp 17 in the Ancient Forest, aswell as in area 11 in the Coral Highlands. I've caught 1 in each area so far.
