Map v1.0.3

For the missing hats, check out Siriusly Sherlocked's dedicated guide to hat and photo booth locations.
TIPS - General
You can collect shields quickly by killing yourself repeatedly, after 8 deaths a shield will appear. Collect it and go through a door to store it, then repeat as needed.

Use doors as checkpoints. Going through a door and re-entering will reset enemies, but it can also move you closer to your goal.
TIPS - Bosses
Once you start a boss you can't leave its room, so make sure you have as many shields as possible, plus any boss abilities + shop upgrades you want.

Earth Boss (1) throws glowing green rocks that explode into shrapnel, you can bounce these back by jumping up to hit them. Bouncing them back will prevent them from exploding.

The swim upgrade from Earth Boss (1) makes Water Boss (3) much easier.

For Air Boss (2) it's a bit unclear how to beat it. Just throw the rockets into the open glowing hole.
TIPS - Abilities & Upgrades
Once you kill the first boss, you'll get a shop and scrap/junk buyer outside the mansion.

Every boss ability can be upgraded in the shop.

The shoulder bash upgrade is indispensable, it lets you ram through enemies and obstacles, including electric fences, allowing for lots of skips and a few bits of junk (this is why many rooms say they have more junk even after you've collected it all).

The crouch walk shop upgrade is also pretty helpful, even in some places where the crouch walk ability isn't required.

The floaty jump upgrade is definitely worth buying early. It works like a Yosh's flutter jump in Mario and makes a big difference.

You can hold 5 shields in total, so there are 3 upgrades and they're always 50k. it's worth getting a couple early (as they let you skip electric fences and some fire walls) but keep some money for boss ability upgrades.

The game boy upgrade unlocks buyable games from the shop. These can take the place of other upgrades so if you're cycling through shop items to find the upgrades you want, maybe save the game boy for later.

The Wonderland fairground VIP ticket can be saved for later, there's not much junk there but it does let you collect a letter, which lets you change the title screen (shoulder buttons on a controller, Z on a keyboard).

If you need junk check the water around towns. The rocket pieces are worth a massive 1k each. Alice's stash on the left side of the mansion has a good amount of junk too.
TIPS - Routing
The path along the bottom-right of the mansion is very difficult, you may want to save it until you have plenty of shields.

There are two "unlockable routes" marked n the map (UR). The one on the left (left of boss #2) can be opened from either side, it's just a minor time saver. The one on the right (two rooms below boss #4) must be opened from the left; unless you open it from the left, you won't be able to access the left side of the room if you enter from the right. Open this before boss #3 or you'll need to take a harder route back to the entrance.

Boss Order

The first 3 boss markers (1-3) are shown on your map. I don't know if it's possible to reach boss #4 before beating other bosses, if it is please let me know.

Boss #5 requires beating all other bosses first. See below for prep tips.
TIPS - Missable RAM
There's an easily missable RAM chip just before boss #5, when you dodge the floating enemies that start in a circle. Use the balloon to reach it (but move away from the door r you'll exit the room!).

There's also a RAM chip at the new location that's permanently missable. It's in one of 2 rooms that look empty and have a high "ceiling" -- look up with your binoculars to see it.
After the Mansion
Defeating boss #5 will move to you a new location immediately. Make sure you're prepared.

The new location has no shop, and no doors, so it will be a long time before you can buy any missing upgrades or kill yourself for more shields. Try to buy everything first.

If you can, try to keep all your shields (i.e., don't use any during the boss #5 fight). In the new location, there's an especially difficult "obstacle course" style room, and having shields lets you skip large parts of it.
Map Notes
The map is incomplete. It shows:
  • All special rooms
  • All boss rooms
  • Both portal rooms
  • The one special door (to observatory)
It's missing:
  • Many ability icons (only the far left side of the mansion has been mapped)
  • Most of the hats & photo booths (as above)
It might be missing:
  • Some shield machines (maybe, needs confirming)
If you know any locations please save + edit the map in MS Paint or similar to mark locations and comment below and I'll credit you here

You should probably also mark the laundry room as it's required for one of the achievements.
It's located here (link taken from a related discussion): https://imgur.com/a/VvDzrcb

Hey, I made a hat guide if you want to add that to the map. The only thing missing is the photo booth for the deerstalker hat, I can't find it for the life of me.
