Right click in order to become invisible for a short time. The behaviour of your cloak depends on your watch. If you're using the cloak and dagger, your cloak will quickly drain when moving, but not when standing still. The default watch will always drain cloak; this is important to remember! When you run out cloak, you will become visible to the enemy team. You may notice that being visible means you are not invisible, and therefore can be shot by enemies.

Remember: being shot while visible is not the same as being shot while invisible; being shot while visible due to running out of cloak or bumping an enemy is not grounds to accuse anyone of hacking/scripting.

We've all been there: you're caught in the open by an enemy! You need to cloak and run away... but how can you make sure your trajectory isn't easily predictable?

Firstly; something that should be obvious but apparently isn't: if you activate cloak in front of me, I still know you're there. This is because tf2 players are at equal or higher brain capacity to an infant monkey and therefore have object permanence. Would you be fooled if I covered my face and pretended to be gone? No? Didn't think so.

So, how can you avoid being shot after cloaking when in sight? First of all, don't stand still. I'm not an early access horror game monster; standing still won't make me lose you. I will remember your location and shoot you. Second of all, walking in a straight line as you cloak makes it very easy to track you. I will be able to extrapolate your position by watching you as you disappear. I'm not a primate. Move unpredictably as you cloak, and after you're cloaked, to shake enemies.



Most importantly: getting predicted as you cloak is not the result of hacks; it's your own incompetence. Remember: getting tracked or detected is not the same as you getting owned by some cheater who has no reason to know you're there.

If someone sent you this guide, it's because you clearly need it. Calling out people for hacking because you're bad at your favourite class is not a good way to mask your lack of skill. If you follow this guide though, maybe you'll one day be able to at least midfrag as spy.
